I got this video as a recommendation, probably because I watch Post10. I really enjoyed it and liked your nod to Post10, that was gracious. I am in Ireland so will never be able to see all these beautiful places in America so I love watching these type of videos because there's scenery and interesting nature and geographical information. Good job. Got yourself another sub. Best Wishes, Brendan.
ADHD - me too. There is something soothing and stimulating about cleaning out the clogged water ways. The rake is you have is perfect. Potato rake is smaller and can't clear as much out. Love your videos.
Great job. I think quite a few people have been inspired by Post 10 to do things in the community rather than wait for the authorities to get around to it. I have been keeping the hedge trimmed along a narrow country lane near where I live. It makes it safer for walkers and cyclists as they don't have to go out into the road to avoid thorny branches. I've seen other people regularly picking up litter along there. Most people don't realise it's being done or appreciate it but that's OK. We know. Even if its just keeping the road outside your house clean and litter-free, everyone can do something to make their environment better.
We have a couple of undeveloped lots in our subdivision. I mow and cut the trees back for just this reason! We’ve been here 17 years, and it helps the neighbors.
Love your video and love what you're achieving. I've been watching Post 10 for a while and think you're both doing a brilliant job. It's heartening to see you looking after your part of our beautiful planet xx
that rake is perfect for the job. I hope you and your family are recovering well. it sounds like your breathing was a bit labored. please be careful in the heat, there are so many long term side effects we are still learning about.
“Life” has long term side effects. When one exerts oneself with physical activities, respiration increases. Maybe he should just stay inside an air conditioned dwelling and avoid all the messy side effects of exerting himself.
First time ever watching video like this. Great thing you are doing. I am a nature liver and appreciate what you do. I hate littered too...but I just love beavers. I know they can be annoying but they are just doing what beavers do.
Go to an old appliance store and get the rack out of a oven that doesn't work and put that in front of the culvert. It will stop the beavers from filling the pipe with sticks and every time you go to clean it from the beaver fams it will be so quick. It worked for us.
Water is where all life gets it first breathe; rivers of living water. Just looking at it make you think of fresh air and cool breezes and clean pure thoughts.
there is a large majority of flooding, around cities , that cant be dealt with with this method, simply maintaining the outlets of flood plains, and water sheds. good on you dude
Ya that rake is perfect for what your doing Post 10 needs one of those I’d just be easy on it bc from what I’ve seen seems like any of them can be broken after enough use Hope you have a good case for your phone….
Sorry, didn't mean to send yet... Anyway they had, still have, very large farms, growing cotton, strawberries and watermelons for sale, and a regular garden + livestock for personal use. I said all that to say, that's how I know about and came to have these old cultivators. I cherish them, and use them for everything on my own property. Mine are so ancient, there is no varnish on the handles, which is why I have to oil them every fall. Tysm for the great vids and take care of your precious fam, Mimi, a granny from GA
Good work on the clog. I think your rake is great. I use the same ones to hoe in my garden. Once you get some waders you can go anywhere! Thanks for sharing.
Great to see individual citizens doing what needs to be done voluntarily. It is a lesson for all to take responsibility to themselves rather that relying on local government which can only do so much. It is what JFK said, "Dont ask what my country can do for me but what can I do for my country" or my local community. Imagine if everyone did something, however small and when enough people take responsibility to themselves, those small acts collectively create great results. It is all to easy to expect local government agencies to do everything. But if they did, they would need huge budgets and that means high taxes.
For my own satisfaction, or for video, I would put a staff gauge on each side of that culvert about 10 feet out and watch the change in water level after 3 days. a simple survey stake with some numbered lines on it would tell you how much the beavers have changed lake levels and also tell you the lake levels after you clear the culvert. Good video and effort!! thanks for sharing
It is a great idea to clear these blocked culverts if you can. A little maintenance done now is better than millions spent fixing damage done by floods. I live in a big city in a residential area and we do try to keep the street tidy and make sure any drainage is not blocked. Now if only our neighbor down the street does not spread their garbage around their section of the street, it would be perfect.
It's a great service you're doing regardless if you seen Post10 do it first or not. I watch him too! And use a stick on the water edge to mark how much water you moved. Great ending LOL. Sub'd!
A lifetime ago I used to build dams in the creek only to tear them down. Watching these dam clearings is a blast, brings back old memories. We don't have water here so seeing lakes, trees and lush lawns is delightful. That rake seem ideal for the job. I'd use it till it broke.
I did the same thing as a kid loved it so much during the lock down I dug a mini pond and block the drain just to it again. Every time I clear a dam or drain I call it being a kid again. I remember when we moved to suburbs as child. I was amazed the first time I saw sewer drain with rain water flowing in it.
Great job, great video. That rake is perfect, don't waste your money ordering another online. Nice you gave a shout out to Post 10.
Makes short work off that great job
