Hi Adrian, we are travelling in South America with a van and we have an Alpicool C15 new one, for 2 weeks it worked great, it was on MAX as the weather here is very hot ( daily temperatures goes up to 30 C and over ) also we kept it on factory settings which was H for Battery protection mode. We use it on car battery when we are driving, when we stop if there are mains available, we change the cable and put it on mains, or if there is no mains available, there is a 2nd car battery which we charge also while driving which is connected to a converter (From 12V to 220 V) so we use this second battery for the fridge. Now neither me or my husband does not understand from electrics that well, so we do not understand when it is on mains, battery protection mode should be H or M or L, and while we are driving or while we are using the second battery. What mode it should be on. Last 3 days although it was working on MAX, temperature on display screen doesn't go under 18 ( although I have set the temperature to 0 or even -2) and current voltage shows like 49.9 v I am so sorry for such a long explanation, but we don't know what to do, and it is brand new we only used it 2 weeks. Thank you for doing this in depth review, it's been super helpful. I do have one question. What is the volume of the fridge like? I am planning to run it in my berlingo micro camper and a bit worried that the fridge, being fairly close to my head ( on the passenger seat whilst I sleep with my head near the back of the passenger seat), will be a bit annoying. Thanks
@rektchord You're most kind, thank you 😃👍. Just to clarify, do you mean the size of the whole unit or internal fridge capacity (this is 15 Litres)? All the best, Adrian
Hi Adrian, another great video ! I’ve just taken delivery of the Alpicool CF45 , for going camping, and as back up to household fridge. Got it chilling down powered by the Jackery 10000, will see how long it lasts before the voltage protection kicks in, At Moment from room temperature cooling down to 3c, drawing 35 watts in eco mode, of course with the solar saga panels, on a reasonable day , technically the Jackery will be charging at a higher rate than the fridge draws, so looking forward to testing that when I got some time off !
@Jedi Ninja Ranger It's great to hear from you! I always appreciate your kind feedback, thank you😊. I can't believe how good these fridges are (first compressor one). Spot on, the panels should still charge the Jackery on a reasonably sunny day and the fridge shouldn't be running constantly once at the right temp. It would be good to hear how you get on, as I'm looking at a larger version to test over the summer (not sure on size just yet) to give viewers options as I’ve covered the smallest now. I hope you get some time off soon! Take it easy, Adrian
@@DADvinci Hi Adrian, just a quick update for you ! So, I had the Alpicool CF45 running off my Jackery 1000, had it in fridge Mose only, temperature set to 3c, The power bank had 90% charge at beginning of run, the fridge was in a back room, ambient temp about 22c. I got a full 72 hours power out of the unit which at end of test had 3% left in the jackery. I had some tins of drink in the fridge and a separate thermometer to monitor the internal temperature, which was quite steady, although the display on outside of the fridge did fluctuate between 1c to 4c which I *guess* is a combo of when the compressor kicks in and out, and maybe not the most accurate sensor, All in all though, am very chuffed with the results, will certainly fulfil my camping / glamping / overland needs ! All the best Sean
@Jedi Ninja Ranger Hey Sean! That's awesome info, thanks for testing and sharing👍That matches up with other things I've read about the display accuracy. Saying that, the things I take out of the fridge seem consistent with my domestic fridge freezer and the ice cream…..remains ice cream. It's great to hear you're happy with this one and it would cover any situation, I guess including a better backup for saving more fridge freezer contents in the event of a grid issue. Sounds like I need to consider a larger one now😊. Do you have any trips planned in the near future? Cheers, Adrian
@@DADvinci Hi Adrain, Yes indeed, got a short trip coming up next weekend, so will be taking the fridge out for a field test, a sure it’ll keep the steaks and beer nice and cold for the weekend ! -Sean
@geedub2019 Perhaps, but I've not got a C20 to test I'm afraid. Dimensions provided versus real-world bottle size would have to be checked. I've decanted milk into smaller containers so I can use the C15, but I guess it's down to individual needs. Some may want the smaller size fridge; some might want a bigger one on wheels. All the best, Adrian
@Emplan1968 You're too kind, thanks Tony😊. I think they're the same main unit with a different lid, so either would be a good choice from my experience. I've only had the thermoelectric cool box before and this has been better than I expected. Please shout if you have any questions. All the best, Adrian
@martinnichols45 Thanks for your question Martin. Are you using it from battery or with the mains power brick? I'd suggest going with the lower temp figure first, especially if ambient temp is high, but keep an eye to ensure that the things in the fridge remain as cold as you'd normally expect/want. I initially set my fridge to 1C and regularly checked nothing froze and now leave it around 2C. Each fridge is a little different which is why they have the calibration settings, but you’ll get a feel for where it sits, unless you have a temp sensor you can place inside to get a definitive idea on what you need it to be. Please let me know if you are using battery as that will determine where you need to leave the protection settings. Eco should work fine, but I use Max when loading it up to ensure it keeps the temp down where it should be. All the best, Adrian
@martinnichols45 Thanks Martin. The battery protection levels are really there to prevent flat starter batteries in cars, campers, etc, so in your case you could put it on low as it shouldn't make any different to your Ecoflow. From what I remember the river pro has a regulated 12V cigarette lighter output so wouldn't get to the protection level threshold anyway and would stay at the regulated voltage until your river pro shuts down.
@amberward3097 Good day and thanks for your question. It acts like a normal domestic fridge in any mode, so will only switch the compressor on when the temperature goes above the one set. It then switches off once the target temp has been reached or is lower. All the best, Adrian
@Alex Gath Thanks for sharing Alex! I've been wondering about getting a larger dual compartment one to test and review over the summer. Is the C60 as good as the C15, just larger? Cheers, Adrian
For the testing on runtime did you prechill the items inside or added ice bottles or anything. If you don't pre chill it it would drain those solar generators very quickly. No way a jackery can last 29 hours straight from a warm fridge to a cold one. You had to of pre chilled it right
I have the old one without bluetooth and I am really enjoy by it. I use the regulated DC (with an adaptator) on the Allpowers 666 and it is perfect. I made 10 days in "Corse" with it, juste perfect. Thanks for your videos, most of all is really interesting for me. Arnaud from France
@Arnaud Chasset Good day Arnaud. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and very kind feedback, it's sincerely appreciated👍😊. This really does make doing these videos and being part of the DADvinci community so rewarding. All the very best, Adrian
Hi great video! I’m struggling with the maths to make a decision to buy though 😅 how long would it run at the 3 degrees for on a 120ah leisure battery please? (No lower than 50%) Thank u 🙏
@sianbennett8386 Hey Sian and thanks for your kind feedback 😃👍. That's a tough question to answer as the runtime is affected by ambient temperature. I assume you've got a 12V leisure battery? So, on paper you've got 60Ah to use on a full charge. If it's a 12V battery, then 12V x 60Ah = 720Wh (rough estimate). Based on my results shared in the video, the Jackery Explorer 500 (has 500Wh) and it lasted 68 hours. Although the Jackery has 500Wh available on a full charge there will be some losses due to the regulated 12V socket, but it will give you some idea that your setup with 720Wh on a fully charged 12V leisure battery (ambient temp dependent) is likely to last longer than the 68 hours in my test. I'm sorry I can't be more specific due to the variables involved, but I hope this helps a little. All the best, Adrian
Thanks for the video, has helped me make the decision to buy an alpicool to go with my jackery 500. Not sure what size yet tho. I have been reading than running in eco mode draws more , as it runs lower but over a longer time than having set on max. Not sure what sort of test would be needed to get the results, guess just run the jackery down from 100% to zero on eco mode then on max mode and time each one.
@Robotica One Good day. Thanks for your kind feedback, much appreciated😊. I'm glad it helped with your decision. For me, the ambient temp has been the determining factor on how long it runs for. Either mode has worked well and I use max when it's in very hot places (car boot on hot day). All the best, Adrian
@agnamac9151 Good day and thanks for your questions. The minimum temp you can set is -20C. This fridge can be used as a freezer, so it would be possible to make ice cubes/ice bags as it would in a normal freezer. You can only use it as either a fridge or freezer (depending what temp you set) as it only has one compartment. I hope this helps. All the best, Adrian
@biskurt82 Good day and thanks for your question. I use my 12V LiFePO4 batteries on the lowest setting without any problems. You could always test yours out for peace of mind. All the best, Adrian
@skYcunian It’s nice to hear from you and thanks for sharing (very useful for viewers). That's a good supply of Stella😊. It's a cracking little unit and better than I expected. What do you usually have it set at for 3 days on the 1000? Cheers, Adrian
@@DADvinci there is the option of two modes, eco and max. If I'm just using this to keep things cool I set it on 2 degrees. When setting this on max its -2 for the best configuration for "freezer mode" Its a delicate balance for the best energy efficiency from the lifepo4's. I will consume the food it freezes within a week so no point setting it lower to consume more power than needed. Eddie stobart lorrys have these for tramping as they can take the 24v supply from the socket. They use very little power to operate.
Hi Adrian, I wonder if you can help me out. I have the Allpowers 288wh and the alpicool c15 compressor fridge. Works all fine on AC power, but on 12v power the fridge beeps once but then shuts off. I understand it's unregulated, but is this because there is an auto-off on 12v when no current is drawn? Can this be changed on the Allpowers? I really would like to power the fridge with 12v if possible over AC. Thanks! Andrew
@Andrew Jeffs Good day Andrew and thanks for your question. You're attempting to power from the cigarette lighter output on the 288? Do you know what the battery protect setting is on your Alpicool (H, M or L)? I can only assume it's this setting as the cigarette lighter output is always on (on my 372) so the voltage will drop with the battery charge and the Alpicool needs to be on the lowest setting. Please can you let me know? All the best, Adrian
@@DADvinci Thank you for your reply :) I've tested on all power settings on the Alpicool (H, M and L) and also Max and Eco, to no avail. The 12v cigarette lighter output seems to switch off when there is no current drawn too, so I'm not sure if this is related, or a fault? Thanks!
@Andrew Jeffs No problem at all Andrew. You've got the 288Wh which looks similar to the 372Wh I've got? Is the 12V cigarette lighter output on your 288Wh on all the time, as in, you don't need to hit the DC button to switch it on? Cheers, Adrian
Thinking about one of these mostly for cold drinks, so l don’t think l would need it to run at night. Any suggestions on how long it would take to cool beer or soda cans, and what might be the most power saving way to do it using a portable power station. Like start out freezing ice packs then switch to lower temperature possibly.
I would like to buy this refrigerator for my car, but I would like to know what happens if the power supply is interrupted and then restored. Does the fridge remember the settings (cooling/temperature) or does it need to be physically turned back on? In my car, after removing the keys, the socket turns off in 5 minutes.
@Jiri Bolf Good day and thanks for your question. Mine remembers the last setting and comes on when I plug the power back in. I hope this helps. All the best, Adrian
@sl1ck_maxzzz Good day and thanks for your question. The numbers on the batteries/power stations in this video are Wh (Watt Hours), instead of Ah (Amp Hours). This might be useful > www4.enphase.com/en-in/support/what-difference-between-watt-and-watt-hour. I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any other questions. All the best, Adrian
@Rossco Batterbury Good day and thanks for your question. That's a tough one to answer, as it would depend on the type of contents and ambient temperature. Wrapping it in something that had insulation or some kind of thermal bag might keep the temp in the right place for longer whilst off. Adding some ice packs may buy more time, but I personally wouldn't leave it for too long without power. Did you have a gap in power for when you would want to use this? All the best, Adrian

Thirdly; having watched a lot of your reviews I’ve now got a ALLPOWERS battery bank and a foldable solar panel Also the fridge ( Alpicool ) . I’m off to Italy in a week and I’ll be driving, I’ll be staying in a hotel in Germany to brake up the drive and just wounded how long it would take to loose its coldness as it won’t be turned on in my van over night . I think I’ve just answered my own question! Why don’t I just use my ALLPOWERS for over night ! 😀 again thanks for the time to answer my question and please keep your channel going ! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I wish you would have mentioned the average watt-hour usage over a 24hr period. Maybe I missed that part? I saw the initial wattage used of around 30-35w but that will change based on initial cool down, maintaining temp, and whether its inside a hot car or outside in the shade. So how many watthours would you say it used from your Jackery battery over 24hrs? Thanks
@__ Good day and thanks for your question. Results can vary (as in the video) due to ambient temperature and cooling mode/temp. In essence, average watt-hours for my non-scientific test wouldn't add much more in value terms than how long the charge lasted overall, due to the variants involved (as other viewers have mentioned to me). If you wanted to derive a figure on the Explorer 240 based on my result of 29 hours runtime, I could apply my usual rule of thumb calculation (very rough). I assume 80% capacity available (could be more or less in terms of real-world usage), so 240Wh @ 80% = 192Wh useable. 192Wh ÷ 29 hours = 6.6Wh. Personally, I wouldn't use this due to the assumptions made. I hope this helps a bit. All the best, Adrian
@@DADvinci - I apologize, I scrolled through the video again and now noticed you did indeed show how much wattage was used at 16:43. Somehow I missed that my first time watching. Thats exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
Why don't you tell the truth? The allpowers device cannot be used with a refrigerator. When the refrigerator reaches the desired temperature and the compressor stops, after 5 seconds the 12 volt socket is turned off such as there is no load. Restart is not possible when the temperature in the refrigerator changes, as there is no power at the 12 volt socket. In order for the power not to turn off, there must be a constant load on this socket of 12 volts. This is a big problem, I bought this device and can't use it with my fridge standalone.
@Александр Good day and thanks for your comment. My ALLPOWERS 372Wh works perfectly with the C15. I use the 12V cigarette lighter output socket (as shown in this video) and put the C15 in Low battery protection mode. Do you have the 372Wh and a C15? All the best, Adrian

All the best
Sean
@Jedi Ninja Ranger Hey Sean! That's awesome info, thanks for testing and sharing👍That matches up with other things I've read about the display accuracy. Saying that, the things I take out of the fridge seem consistent with my domestic fridge freezer and the ice cream…..remains ice cream. It's great to hear you're happy with this one and it would cover any situation, I guess including a better backup for saving more fridge freezer contents in the event of a grid issue. Sounds like I need to consider a larger one now😊. Do you have any trips planned in the near future? Cheers, Adrian
@@DADvinci Hi Adrain,
Yes indeed, got a short trip coming up next weekend, so will be taking the fridge out for a field test, a sure it’ll keep the steaks and beer nice and cold for the weekend ! -Sean
Can the C20 definitely take a bottle of milk? 🤔
Thank you Sir!
Great revue as usual, I am looking at this unit or the 20l version for my Land Rover.
Many thanks and kind regards
Tony
@Emplan1968 You're too kind, thanks Tony😊. I think they're the same main unit with a different lid, so either would be a good choice from my experience. I've only had the thermoelectric cool box before and this has been better than I expected. Please shout if you have any questions. All the best, Adrian
For everyday use, i should put it at 3-5C° , economy mode and on L M or H (general use) ?
@@DADvinci I use an Ecoflow pro river . It's for my SUV ( camping converted) .
@@DADvinci Thank you for your answer .
In eco mode will the mini fridge turn off and then back on when it realizes a temp drop or it is on all the time.
@amberward3097 Good day and thanks for your question. It acts like a normal domestic fridge in any mode, so will only switch the compressor on when the temperature goes above the one set. It then switches off once the target temp has been reached or is lower. All the best, Adrian
So good over the last 2 years, we also bought the 60litre version..
You had to of pre chilled it right
I own a 36l there basically the same and yu answered all my questions nice job I run it on hi daytime eco night time
@David-ug9gv You're too kind, thank you 😃👍
I have the old one without bluetooth and I am really enjoy by it.
@@DADvinci thank u so much that’s very useful indeed even as an approximation 🙂
Hi!!! What is the minimum possible temperature in ºC? does this make ice? thanks!!!
If use lipo4 battery protection can set at lower?
@biskurt82 Good day and thanks for your question. I use my 12V LiFePO4 batteries on the lowest setting without any problems. You could always test yours out for peace of mind. All the best, Adrian
I have that exact model, lasts 3 days on the jackery 1000. The ice box is handy. Fits 22 cans of Stella.
When setting this on max its -2 for the best configuration for "freezer mode"
Its a delicate balance for the best energy efficiency from the lifepo4's.
I will consume the food it freezes within a week so no point setting it lower to consume more power than needed. Eddie stobart lorrys have these for tramping as they can take the 24v supply from the socket. They use very little power to operate.
@skYcunian Appreciate the extra info, thank you 👍
Hi Adrian, I wonder if you can help me out.
@@DADvinci Sure it helps. Thank you!
The number or ur batteries u did the test on is the ah of them?
@sl1ck_maxzzz Good day and thanks for your question. The numbers on the batteries/power stations in this video are Wh (Watt Hours), instead of Ah (Amp Hours). This might be useful > www4.enphase.com/en-in/support/what-difference-between-watt-and-watt-hour. I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any other questions. All the best, Adrian
Is there a estimated time on how long it will stay cold / frozen when not plugged in to a power sauce?
@Rossco Batterbury Good day and thanks for your question. That's a tough one to answer, as it would depend on the type of contents and ambient temperature. Wrapping it in something that had insulation or some kind of thermal bag might keep the temp in the right place for longer whilst off. Adding some ice packs may buy more time, but I personally wouldn't leave it for too long without power. Did you have a gap in power for when you would want to use this? All the best, Adrian
@@DADvinci Adrian, firstly thank you so much for you in-depth reply ! Secondly; I for got to say in my first question , how I love your channel!
@Rossco Batterbury No problem at all. That's incredibly kind of you to say, it makes this all worthwhile😊. I'm trying to do more and one day I hope to do this full-time. I wish you a happy and, most importantly, safe journey to Italy. If you need anything else, please let me know. Take care, Adrian👍
Lots of good information,
@John Mee Thanks for your kind feedback John😃👍 All the best, Adrian
Just got it and it's great.
@UPdan Brilliant! Thanks for sharing😃. All the best, Adrian
Thanks!
@__ No problem at all. I'm glad you've got what you needed. Cheers, Adrian👍
Use splitter
Ini bisa di colok di listrik rumah
@mamy aurelia Selamat tinggal! Ya, bisa dicolokkan ke listrik utama di rumah menggunakan adaptor yang disertakan dengan lemari es. Salam hangat, Adrian
