You did a great job. This is one of the most beautiful compositions ever and I also wish it were longer. I actually emailed Ron Jones back in January of 2013 to ask if he had ever considered expanding on this melody. But I don't think he understood just how special people think this particular piece is. Here was his response: Thanks for the kind thoughts on my score. I always try to reach for something that is musical and right for the story and the emotions of a scene. ST:TNG offered many ways to do that. Paramount hired me to score that. I am the composer, they are the publisher and content owner. Like all scores composed for major studios. I am not sure what you mean by expand upon. You mean take that score and melodic material and compose new work? It would depend on for what situation as to whither the studio might allow or grant permission to mess around. Probably they would if there was a good reason. They are not all bad. I really love that melody also. I had not though of doing anything with it. I can do more like it and probably better after all these years of continued experience and knowledge. They released a 14-CD set with all the music from the series that I did. If you have not listened to that you should, there are many special works in that collection.

Beautiful! I always play that song on repeat four about 5 minutes! You should make a longer version and sell it on Amazon.
