My aunt lives in N. C. & she had wind damage to her home from the hurricane. I flew over from Tx to get her house repaired & clear the trees... I met a gentleman at Home Depot who was with a group of volunteers & told him what I was doing.. 3 days later a couple truck loads of folks came by & in one day they helped us clear the debri , replace a couple windows & repair the roof... These are the kind of people who give me hope for America . I was relieved to know good people still are still doing Gods work.
I was stationed at Ellsworth AFB for 9 years. I know all too well about the wind. I was an aircraft machinist and was outside a lot year round. The hottest i saw was 126°f. The coldest -47°. The wind chill chart was useless. When it got to -30°f they shut down outside operations. Above that it was two people at all times. One did the work and one kept the truck running. I was young then. I don't think my 66 year old body would appreciate it anymore. Cool idea on the gates. Working on a farm you have to learn to improvise. Cheers Terry
"Hello, little friend" x2! Lol I enjoy your Dads sense of humor & when he makes a sincere comment about people, he's met. I'm glad your Mom/Dad are able to get away periodically because you're there to take care of the farm Cole. That is a huge blessing.
Almost 300k subscribers! I remember the early days when you were giving away a tractor for 100k subscribers. Love your channel, your honest interactions with your dad and Uncle Jeff show a good, hard working family. Can't wait to see the newest Sonne Farms family member next year!
Congrats on 300.000 subscribers to the both of you! A bottle of Irish Moonshine a fresh batch I made 2 weeks ago is on its way. Next juncture is 500.000 subscribers! 🎉🎉😊
I found out about y’all on Barn Talk. Seen u on it and thought I give u try.I binge watched three months of videos. The last 10 days really enjoy. I love you and your dad. Y’all work damn hard.get lot done for 2 people
Hey guys. Great job done today. Brian like your little friends. A must have. Glad to hear you had a great time in my new home state. Thank you for your kind words. God bless you all and keep the shines side up. 😊😊😊
Brain, I born raised and lived 74 years on farm in NC ..I'm 5th generation on this farm..was so nice hear you enjoyed your visit here. Was raised to read and still do read Bible every day..God is so good .I try watch u and Cole every day and is so nice to watch u both and never heard either say a curse word...I don't know how be farming on flat land..keep feeding em cows..God coming get his children soon ..Again God so good...Hen
What a humble thing to say Brian. That's what keeps us coming back, you don't look down at us without humility. Audacity isn't in your tool kit, tenacity is. Cheers.
Glad you had a good time in NC . I was born 6 th generation tarheel, grew up farming on a tobacco farm, most are gone now. In rural eastern NC we still have some great small town, tale care from Clinton NC
That's great. It doesn't take much flow to keep the ground saturated and puddling. Tough part is getting the ground to dry up. Glad its finally getting cold for you guys. Great video as usual. Take care
I would drop a one inch poly flow pipe in it before I buried it. If it’s flowing, even 5 gallons a day, it would be a good torch of ware. You could even put a shallow well pump on it.
Nice to hear y'all got to the root of the problem with the lot staying soaked with water mud and muck. Awesome looking gates, they will do the job. I hope you have a goodnight!
--I know you guys have that little mini excavator ... to explore for groundwater leaks ... but like the movie "Jaws" when Roy Sheider says to Robert Shaw, "Your gonna need a bigger boat", that's when you brought in that big excavator and found that buried pipe ... Well done. BSafe.
Boy that wind looks miserable but where I live we have high wind advisory for the next 12 hours and it’s already snowing. Let the winter games begin. Y’all stay warm out there.
Great to see Ellie and Little Dog hanging around together. Nice that Ellie gets to stay where it's warm. I know little Dog is kept warm too. Fun to see the two of you work together. You have good times together, a little goofy at times. Is that what happens when you've been down on the farm too long ?
Cole, I'm envious of your ability to climb into your skid steer with the lift arms partially up. At 6'4" and 300+ #'s, that skillset is missed on me! The sound of the freeze proof lids closing after the cattle are done drinking reminds me of the old pasture, free will, hog feeders. You just gotta multiply it by 100 going all day, non stop until they were empty. In-line tube auger feed lines made hog feeding a lot quieter! Stay safe, warm, and have a blessed Christmas.
Hello Brian! I do not enjoy working on water lines when cold and wet. Them beeves ain't going to know how to act with all the improvements. Can't wait for deer season. Hello Ms. Tami and Ms. Tiffany.
Had same thing in a all concrete lot. Had a tee pull out of the main line. 90 year old father put it in. Guess he didn't get the clamp on tight enough. Good good water is good
Thanks Brian for you “Salute” to the Folks of North Carolina! What those People are suffering through is truly heartbreaking. Yeh……it’s kinda windy! Gotta say the use of those new drinkers is brilliant, use in two separate pens!
Wow! Almost 300K happy subscribers! Maybe you'll cross the line at Christmas. Lots of interesting camera positions. It's like being the neighbor who comes over to watch but doesn't do anything. Just wants to see what's going on.
That’s a funny but true way of describing us viewers. I had a neighbor that way but he drove me crazy at times getting in my business. He died 7 years ago and I still miss him all the time.
You guys could scrape 2 to 3 feet of good top soil out of that feed lot, put it on the low spots on your fields and have some sand trucked in for drainage. We have a company who buys that from us every 2 or 3 years and brings in sand to replace it. They bag it up and sell it that way. Works in our favor and theres
Hello Cole , we are in the teens high winds and chance of snow flurries all coming from Canada. Then rain all week 🇺🇸Central Indiana. Enjoyed you video. Awesome that you and your wife got to go to wedding in Ohio and meet wonderful people .
Perfect job on the gate guys. Glad you had a lovely time in North Carolina Brian with Tammy at the wedding. Had heard that they had a lot of damage with the hurricane. ❤
Funny how a slow little leak like that can create such a muddy mess. Keep warm as best as you can it's getting colder. When you dropped that hay bale in the ring got me thinking it was only a couple of months ago you were making those bales.

Amen!

It may have been a mistake to cap that water line. It may spring up someplace else. The line may have to be extended to a more favorable wet area.
Glad to see the mystery of the Great Wet Spot resolved. Thanks for the video!

Seeing that cold weather coming makes me thankful my cattle farm is in the panhandle of Florida. Stay warm.
How do you survive that far north?
I’ll never live north of Tampa. 🤠
@@kludwig7351 LoL 🤣
Brian I was impressed with your thanks to the fine people of North Carolina. That shows your heart. Thanks for that.
You're a good man Brian. That hole they dug to get that seepage fixed was way deep!

Looks like welding and the welder are just things you didn't know you couldn't live without.
I’m glad to know I’m not the only one whose sawzall goes feral randomly
Right up there with the drill that tries to remove your arm
Nice to hear y'all got to the root of the problem with the lot staying soaked with water mud and muck. Awesome looking gates, they will do the job. I hope you have a goodnight!

Hello all at Sonne Farms
Hello Brian! I do not enjoy working on water lines when cold and wet. Them beeves ain't going to know how to act with all the improvements. Can't wait for deer season. Hello Ms. Tami and Ms. Tiffany.
We see Brian has learned a new motto! lol
It is nice to see you wearing your toques. It must be cold. . . . yes, I am from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Like usual I love your video. I wish Brian would have more time again. I miss my big buddy.
Enjoyed the video...Blessings.
You guys do a good job setting up your gates and corral. Hope you solved the excess water problem now. God bless

13:26 Looks like a good place for a DF Non-slip Cattle Mat. Thanks for another video.
Thanks for another great video. Today in Lubbock, TX I was checking cotton harvest in a short sleeve t-shirt but tomorrow cooler air gets here.
Great video as always. Wet rain is always good rain. :)
Wanted Brian to pick up the little dog and say" say hello to my little friend." Maybe next time..

Those new waterers with exclusions are looking slick! Here is to drier feet and lass wasted water.

Great video cole and Brian, great job with the gate 👍
Your dad's face when you said you were shutting it down for the last time, happy and nostalgic all in one look. I felt it here too.

Brian "I've gotta take a break" 😂😂😂
Great video guys. I think you need to fabricate tiny dog some snow shoes cause if you all get a couple inches his belly will be dragging
Sort of miss the vice-grips on the valve of that water tank. . .
hahaha good memory
Tiny dog showing his stuff for you all to pet him lol🥜🌭
Beautiful animals.
Hi I’m with’ “ osha looks like you have a bit of a shoring issue.” Definitely
Hard to get a good weld in wind like that.... at least that was always my excuse lol
Glad you a nice trip to nc.. on the va/nc line.
