I have just been pushed out of a relationship I’ve had for 10 years. This video goes far to show me how to take things from now on. Also how I’ve been living my life wrongly up till now. I hope I can make it through as life is so difficult to live right now.
@badman231177 I'm truly sorry to hear about the end of your relationship, especially after such a long time together. Breakups, especially after long-term partnerships, can be deeply challenging. Remember, healing and understanding take time. Stoicism offers tools to navigate these tumultuous times, but be gentle with yourself. Do you think there's a specific Stoic teaching that could support you most during this period? Your journey and strength are important, and this community is here to support you. 🌟
Feelings come, feelings go. Thoughts come, thoughts go. But you are not your feelings and thoughts. You will enjoy yourself as you have never been before. Stay strong!!
Thank you. This gives me a new life path. At 83, I feel I found a new path which gives me a fresh vision of myself and a new starting, rather than just wait around to die. Even if I only get one step it might be enough to loosen a snowball at the top of a mountain that turns into an avalanche spreading the beauty of each individual flake of show on the valley below.
Your comment truly warms my heart. 🌟 It's never too late to embark on a new journey or gain a renewed perspective on life. Your analogy of the snowball turning into an avalanche is deeply poetic and resonates with the ripple effect one action or thought can have. Your openness to growth and learning, even at 83, is genuinely inspiring. What's one Stoic practice or teaching you're eager to implement or explore further? Let's continue this beautiful conversation. Blessings on your renewed path and thank you for sharing your wisdom with our community!

I'm finding great value in these recordings. They appeared in my feed, randomly, and now I make a habit of listening almost daily. The last decade crushed me down to the ground, and I've been rising back up for about 3 years now. I'm on a good path. Money is an issue and wages are very low. Hello @kathyleicester7306! First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to share your journey. It's inspiring to hear how resilient you've been, rising from challenges over the past few years. As you continue to rebuild, what Stoic teachings or habits have resonated with you the most in maintaining self-confidence and optimism? Your story is bound to inspire many others. Keep pushing forward! 🌱
It offers me a new direction in life. I feel that, at eighty-three, I've found a new route that gives me a new perspective on who I am and a fresh start, instead of just waiting to die. Stoicism is the root of the Twelve Step programs. Starting with gratitude (to God) for the gift of a new day (each day a new life in itself), an effort to do the “right thing@ daily in our interactions with people, places and things. A daily inventory at the end of the day and a closing at bedtime with a prayer of thanks for the blessings and grace we receive

one of the subjects i hope to see one day covered is the difficulty of APPLYING stoic practices and discipline. and what i mean is how to start, how to maintain focus and momentum in the journey. the greatest analogies this channel talks about is when you ask for the viewer to picture a wildlife setting or a river with a boulder in it or something naturally occurring and understandable, and using that to reflect on how to be stoic. those are the greatest examples on this channel you don’t see enough of it on the internet. ❤

@@stoicbond To stay in the present moment. My mother taught my bro & I when we were young ‘yesterday’s gone & tom’s promised to no one’ After getting another degree, this time in cardiac ultrasound, I change it to ‘if you get a blockage in your LDA-which perfuses the heart itself-analogous to a car engine immediately having every drop of oil removed -you’re effectively dead before your body even hits the ground’. Saying this with no emotion at all, just in a matter-of-fact manner, terrifies people!! Tho staying in the present takes CONSTANT practice as it goes against human nature for survival

I'd love to hear your thoughts and perhaps create content around it! 🧠
@@stoicbond it would cool if you could put together a video around being stoic towards the circle of life. What I mean is how us humans we live and die, we all have family and friends. Some family passes away but we often enjoy families company and share good times vice versa for some. So we do with friends as well. A way for us to handle ourselves and control our reactions to these events would definitely make a cool video I would love to tune in to.
@@stoicbond I definitely would like to learn more, if there is anything that you can piggy back off of to just keep expanding the brainstorming process. This is for sure intriguing.
Thank you for this. Going to incorporate this process ❤❤❤
Hey @cindyrhodes, I'm so glad to hear that you found the tips in the video helpful! 😊 It's always great to hear from viewers who are incorporating stoicism into their daily routines. Do you have any other practices or rituals that you do before bed? I'd love to hear about them! Keep up the stoic mindset 💪🏼
@stoicbond I have been concentrating not just at bedtime, but all through the day everyday, on how I respond to external stimuli and fine-tuning those responses. We are the Masters of our emotions, and although we would certainly not want to obliterate emotion from our lives, we do well when we can maintain our composure and concentration especially while facing adversities. Thank you for your awesome content!

Yes the smell fresh brewed coffee . Too funny I met a nice person who gave me good advice on coffee some people are just nice . Lately there are few nice people there there you just have to find them. Yes stocic principles bring you peace and help you think before you react to toxic people . I thank you . The gratitude list works starting your day this way actually works .
It's lovely to hear about the kind souls you've encountered, especially over something as wonderful as coffee! ☕️ The Stoics really emphasized the importance of surrounding ourselves with good influences. I'm thrilled to hear that the gratitude list has been impactful for you. Thanks for sharing your experience! Which Stoic principle do you think helps the most when dealing with challenging situations or people? 🧘♂️
@@stoicbond remaining calm and non reactive to people who try and provoke you remaining composed. Stocic principle s take work everyday it’s about reflecting on the previous days reactions and improving them . Thank you for the advice I always appreciate it .

Hey @fallenknight4943! 🙌 Thank you for watching the video and leaving such a kind comment! 😊 I'm glad you found it amazing! 🤩 Have you tried incorporating these 7 things into your nightly routine? 🤔 I would love to hear your thoughts on how it has affected your mindset and overall well-being. Keep striving for stoicism! 💪
Am I seeing subliminal messages in the background? If so you don’t need to. The message its self is good enough. Great message! Thanks!
I will definitely set my intentions for the next day every evening and stop looking at my phone on the hour before bed.
All of them
Iv been watching theses videos over and over . i think the message in them is great . but the flickering effect in the videos seems to be distracting my ability to concentrate . plz consider removing the flickering effect (for some other effect that isnt harsh on the eyes)
iv started listening to these videos , while watching muted soothing scenery videos

Thank you for watching and for your kind words! I'm glad you found value in it. Out of the 7 things mentioned, which one resonated the most with you? 🤔🌙

one of the subjects i hope to see one day covered is the difficulty of APPLYING stoic practices and discipline. and what i mean is how to start, how to maintain focus and momentum in the journey. the greatest analogies this channel talks about is when you ask for the viewer to picture a wildlife setting or a river with a boulder in it or something naturally occurring and understandable, and using that to reflect on how to be stoic. those are the greatest examples on this channel you don’t see enough of it on the internet. ❤

Imagine an intelligent child taught by the most powerful Roman thinkers who then had the courage to commit his views to paper which ripple through eternity.
Stoic Routine
These methods to counter the collective insanity should be mandatory high school classes. I wish this was taught to me when I was 17. Instead, I had to take baking classes. However, I make a mean brownie.
I look forward to studying this more
My gut feeling is that these guys were wannabe Sages (but were closer to smart summarisesrs or essayists)
I feel I am hearing plargism and theft of ancient Wisdom wrapped up in Roman pomposity
It's like trying to listen to the Blues but through the prism of white middle class english men like Jagger or Lennon
This is not my definite statement on them, only my starting point or hunch (it is always cool to be proven wrong though----time will tell,or my own readings of ancient texts will tell)
Where do you get the pictures?? or is there a specific name for these kind of pictures??
☄️
Nice video but there's a lot of advertising.
Hmm, !!!!!!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! Your reaction has me intrigued. What are your thoughts on the night habits discussed in the video? 😊
I don't really agree about thinking about the next day. Seems anti-stoic. Also, likely to give you anxiety, not serenity
Stoic is the new buzzword doing the rounds now
noice.
I’m shocked that stoicism has not yet been labelled “ white, masculine philosophy”!!!
Why are all images apart from a real one, Senca, Macho Macho and the commentator a low low bass. Women are almost certainly more stoical than men.
WTF! How can I be subscribed yet *not receive a new posting? I swear f’n technology drives me f’n crazy sometimes (yes this is a display of NON Stoic behavior, but hey, just listened to a clip from comedian Bill Burr not less than a few hrs ago on the same topic)
Enjoyed the vid Jack
Hey @peterj.fallon4327! Firstly, thanks for being a subscriber and for your candid feedback. It's understandable to feel that way-technology has its quirks! 😅 Sometimes, RUclips can be a bit tricky. Make sure you have not only subscribed but also clicked the notification bell 🔔 next to the subscribe button. Additionally, it's a good idea to check your phone settings to ensure you have RUclips notifications turned on.
By the way, Bill Burr's rants on tech are legendary! 😂 Keeping our sense of humor is essential. What's your favorite Stoic technique for staying centered in such moments? Always great to hear from you!
@@stoicbond To stay in the present moment. My mother taught my bro & I when we were young ‘yesterday’s gone & tom’s promised to no one’
After getting another degree, this time in cardiac ultrasound, I change it to ‘if you get a blockage in your LDA-which perfuses the heart itself-analogous to a car engine immediately having every drop of oil removed -you’re effectively dead before your body even hits the ground’. Saying this with no emotion at all, just in a matter-of-fact manner, terrifies people!! Tho staying in the present takes CONSTANT practice as it goes against human nature for survival
@@stoicbond Go listen to Bill Burr’s rant on technology. Only 1 min, hilarious. Preview ‘I can’t get the f’n phone to do what I want, but the amount of shiznit I can do by accident is astounding!’
Seems like Stoics overthink things a bit. I once had a physical fight with my boss then went home and had a great night's sleep
Dude!
You use the word mindfulness!
Please give me the exact word used (in greek or latin)
I am certain it is not mindfulness
Asking viewers to like the video at the beginning, before we've watched it earns you an instant dislike.
