Everything else...the gunmanship, the carpentry, the delivery driving, the safety inspecting... All of that emerges from those first principles. I am SO glad we have a character not defined by their job, but their character.

      To avoid that complication Mike could pretend his battery wasn't actually charged and his drill ran out of power after he took a photos and go "charge it", but Mike takes his pretend jobs as seriously as actual ones

    Even though he worked as the attendant at the courthouse, it’d make sense as to why Chuck wouldn’t know who Mike is, despite his job. If I’m not wrong it was established that Mike had gotten that job mere months before the first episode whereas Chuck was long out of commission at that point, something you can’t say for other characters like Kim or Howard who both frequented the courthouse probably.

      Why would someone like Chuck McGill drive himself to the courthouse, and park in the public garage like a common schlub like the rest of us? He wouldn't be able to have his personal chauffeur open his door for him outside the front door and roll out a red velvet carpet for his high and mighty self.
      (Speaking of which, it never seemed that he showed any discomfort in being in a car that I can ever recall, what with their huge batteries, alternators, window motors, headlamps, power locks, radios, A/C fans, key fobs, GPS navigation, interior lighting, turn and brake signals, etc etc etc....

      @@ptrix Jimmy's car was very basic and GPS in cars weren't as ubiqudious in 2002 as it is today,(there was only a few phones available that had GPS) As far as the battery perhaps the car's firewall provides some insulation from electromagnetic interference and the other lights and AC(if Jimmy's car even had AC) could just be turned off.
      I'm not sure about Ernesto's car which was far nicer and newer and probably did have all the modern bells and whistles. Chuck could have had Ernie pull the fuses on all the non essential equipment.

    I know they were trying to stretch an anemic budget, but having Jonathan Banks play dual roles was just confusing. Same thing as in "Breaking Bad" when they had Bryan Cranston play both Walter White and Heisenberg. No wonder he quit the last season and they had to introduce Brian Posehn's character as the series lead.

    A nice detail is Chuck pointing at all the steps in the house. He is an experienced lawyer, and knows that if Mike misses one of those he could hurt himself and Chuck could be liable. Pointing them out reduces liability. Bravo Vince.

      Chuck was out of operation in the court house, and when he came back mike had already left the job, even if he did see him and recognize him he wouldn't have thought anything suspicious about it

    A friend of mine had a dog that, for whatever reason, was terrified of fidget spinners. Whenever he saw it spinning, he would promptly walk away from it. But, in that way that dogs sometimes do, he'd also try to pretend like it wasn't the fidget spinner he was avoiding. He could walk around the corner, see that fidget spinner spinning, and immediately turn around and walk back the way he came without breaking his stride.
    The way Chuck moves away from the electric drill reminds me of that dog.

    Mike in public acts like a stereotypical old man or longtime worker. He is personable enough that it doesn’t seem odd he’s there, but he’s not leaving a big impact that you clearly remember him. He blends in by fitting in

    Chuck failed to out-chicanery Mike here, so he had to come up with better way to slippin' his younger brother Jimmy. Sad that he failed to so, and eventually ranted on how he defecated through a sunroof. Though he did made a good beat when his head hits the counter within some shady copy shop.
