North Hawaii is a great hospital to work at.. Do it.. I worked there but we had to move off the island for family reasons... Everyone at the hospital are great and the OB dept is really good group
If you move look for housing on the dry side of Kamuela.

visited Waimea back in 2017 when my best friend and I vacationed on the Big Island, we stayed in Waikoloa village but one day we drove up to Waimea to eat at Merriman's, which became my new favorite restaurant. Before we left I insisted that we drive around Waimea one last time. I just liked the small town feel, and that it was at a high elevation. If I moved to the Big Island I think that's where I'd want to be.

My pleasure! I used to live on Oahu many years ago, the Big Island is so much less stressful. You should seriously consider making the move, and reach to me if you decide to pursue it!

Kids go to school in Waimea? Hawai'i Prep? If so....I'm a '65 grad. Born and raised on Oahu well, except for my years at HPA. You're in RE? My classmates I'm sure you know if you are, Puddy Clark (RIP) and Jim Dahlberg and say hello to Alvin Wakayama at Kamuela Liquor also a '65. Several other close classmates and friends on the BI. What is a safe place to live on the Island of Hawaii? Where are hospitals? I would like to buy a lot and build a shipping container home. Is a budget of 400k enough?
There are hospitals in all the main towns, Kona, Hilo, Waimea, Honokaa and Hawi. I don't know how much a shipping container costs to build but for land in north or south Kohala or Hamakua I'd budget at least 200-250k for land.
