NEW Look, NEW Glass - Fixing Past Mistakes...

- Today we tackle a few items that I may have been ignoring.... Day 1 of bringing home this 1967 I broke the front windshield. So it only took 4 months, but I ordered a new one and swapped it out. I also got a killer deal on a gently used set of Cragar wheels so naturally those immediately went on. I'm really liking the look of this hot rod.

I’ve watched enough commercials to pay for a new dash pad so go ahead Dan it’s on me. 😅
😅😅😅
I'm loving the classic Cragars. That'll get under Motske's skin. 😁👍
The FRONT part is actually called a cowl panel , Dan you still rock when it comes to rebuilding cars that are almost to far gone , love your persistence and work ethic , I wished you were closer , so I could help for free , at 62yrs old , I do have some experience in all things you do . Keep doing what you do , saving old iron and making cool stuff .
I could use some free help haha
Cragars on front = Cragars on back.
I like staggered
@@DDSpeedShop Cragars up front with black steelies out back = perfection🤘
@DDSpeedShop staggered would be 2 different sizes. That's mismatched. It's your ride if that's what you like that's all that matters!
@grkrrr right it has slicks on all 4 corners.
@@DDSpeedShop Like the Monte Carlo from Fast and Furious 2.....
Might want to consider a new dash pad. Would improve the look immensely
Oh it's considered
Dan,car is looking. In the late 60s I ran cragers in front and chrome reversed in back with cheater slicks.Looked good then looks good now.
Stay the course Dan don’t listen to the critics. God love ya brother
Being that is butyl tape adhesive the best option for cutting out is to spray glass cleaner on the perimeter before you start cutting and it will glide right through and not stick back to itself. I've installed glass for 30yrs now and it works like a charm
I got my daily DD Speed Shop fix. I like what I am seeing. It looks like a real car! This is quite something and a tribute to you Dan, to your dedication. Just, thanks. 🇨🇦
Your channel is my favourite car channel because we have very similar tastes in cars. I don't car about shiny paint at all. I also like the stance of your cars. But also the amount of constant new videos is amazing. I have no idea how you do it, especially since you have a job too. I have 2 cars I drive regularly and a motorbike I ride regularly. I also keep both of my daughter's cars running and road worthy. So with those 5 vehicles that I keep maintained and running, my toys and projects don't get much done on them. I work and then I just don't seem to have enough time for everything, you mustn't sleep much.
Ohh... Morskey is going to love those wheels!! You know he loves those!
I git them.from him haha
Morskey blows
Moronsky is more like it
Cragars are timeless..... I remember Rocket Stage 1`s; bought a set for my Highschool Five Seven. Dan, you are so SUAVE !!! Keep up the very nice work on the Camaro Danni and Dan, it`s all gonna be worth it !!! Rave-On !!!
Love the Cragars. When you are installing a front clip on the car, you should buy a bolt kit with all the hardware. The price is usually really reasonable and they will come with all the correct bolts, nut clips and shims. They are worth every penny.
Good morning from Cape Cod ⚓ Mortske doesn't approve, Cragers are a pet peeve 😂 I actually love them and the car looks remarkably sweet 🤘 I was yelling at the screen, take the freaking fender off 😂 anyway you figured it out and it looks very nice Dan. Keep up the great work 👍✌️🇺🇲
Dan, you must have read my comments about putting Cragar SS wheels on the front! Perfect! 😂
It's coming along very well Sir!
Scooby Steve Is Minty! 😋
Car sure looks good Dan !
Cragars front and back is what I had on my 67 back in 72 .It was my high school car 327 4 speed. You are bringing back memories of a great times.
I like your style!
A good tech tip for you for running your adhesive is on your tip is to cut the tip where you have about a 3/8ths size diameter then cut V-notch in it so when you apply it it stands like a triangle. Then when you deck the glass or mash it down its compressed flat like a square and chances for a water leak are cut down by 90% if you ever have any questions please reach out and I will help you out brother
You have done a great job Dan 🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
That’s why I keep watching I want to see if you finish one.
One of these days
Doug here..........DD Speed Shop fan.........Dan, if you plan on doing Vintage Air, go ahead and put the adapter in the location of the stock blower motor. If not, gotta take that fender back off to install it. Better to do it now than when it becomes a giant pain..........that is if you plan on doing Vintage A/C.
I'm not going to lie, you had my anxiety through the roof when you were messing with the windshield and left the torch on, wobbling on the cowl! 😬
Haha its fiiiiine
@@DDSpeedShop 😅
You got it looking great Dan good build I'm almost nothing closest you can get to be in complete restored but to me that is restored but definitely crackers in the back deep dish ones if you don't have the original buckets the white ones that look good just die on black I have a shoe polish it is a die that died cowboy boots black and with that back seat top all you have to do is find a bottom maybe it's in the 68
@DDSpeedShop
😅😅😅😅
You said the car looks fantastic. I say it looks fabulous! Too bad you don't have Cragars for the rear. Just to piss off Mortske. I like the contrast of the black wheel tubs in the engine bay, the red (orange) engine and the fenders. Waiting to see what it looks like with the hood on. Nice!
Maybe I'll buy a set just to piss mortske off haha
PLEASE install a new dash pad, they are only like 80 bucks, it would make it look so much better. It will be easy to get to all the nuts since you have not installed the gauge cluster, take my word for it, I have been there and done that .... Good job Dan, keep up the good work !
You have busted your hump on this one Dan. I can completely understand the need to back away from for a bit. That also gives you time for more ideas of things to do. Keep up the great work young man.
Cragars on the front with the steelies out back 👌
I'm glad you put the cragers on the camaro. It looks good. You've come a long way on it. Looks badass. Keep up the great work.
To go this far and not do a dash pad???? Your going to want one to look at while your driving, to pat when it's been a good car and to rub when it's running rough. We also don't want to see you cut your lil fingers on the sharp edges 😢 love you and Dani
Where does it end? Gotta draw the line somewhere
^Dan, this.
Not here
Wad up a beach towel.. Then, if you need a rag to wipe grease off your hands, you are golden..
Not there, that's something you buy
I remember when you were gifted those brand new Cragars for the giveaway 57. Those are beautiful bling.
Hey Dan
You are right, she does look fantastic. Not many channels can make 55mins go by so fast, you are one of them.
Take care😊
I love me some crager ss's almost as much as I love you and Dani's videos. Lookin good!
Camaro is coming along quite nicely!! Really looking good. Love the inner fenders. Awesome glass work, Dan!! Cheers!! 😎
Always dry fit windshield, two pieces of tape from roof to glass, then cut tape. Gives you a fooproof centrepoint.
And put the adhesive on the glass. Makes for a much neater job.
@@johnnyfair i would say no adhesive, but primer on glass, being black the blobby urethane wouldnt show.
Love the Cragars! Have them on my Satellite. I don’t care what Mortske says. Keep up the great content.
been waiting every day for the drop . i too enjoy the daily videos and the longer the better . fearing withdrawal if things go back to every other day . i really enjoyed Frankenstein but absolutely love this build . glad you're going to make a decent car out of it . bravo
Getting closer Dano looking really good
Guys that know building cars, absolutely know how long little stuff can take. It's always something that seems like it should take an hour that takes five. It's just part of it, there's not much you can do about that except try not to do it twice. Love the car, the engine color looks great against all the black. Cragars aren't my jam though. That's just me. Cant wait to see the first drive, it's going to rip.
You guys are knocking it out of the park with this Camaro series.
Love the cragers on the front would look even better with cragers on the back
Yellow Traction Bars!
Good job Dan, best bld yet .I wish I could get that, but my back is so bad,I couldn't push in the clutch,u two are great, great show,,, tomorrow is 420,, let go 4 a ride ,,I love that 67,,,,
Thanks man! Take er easy
Looking great, it’s amazing how just adding a few more detail parts and it all comes together to look like a hot rod…….
What ever you do, DO NOT replace that dash pad or put Cragers on the back. You won't get near as many comments.😂😂😂 Great job as always. What impresses me the most is how much work you get done, videos posted, all while working a full time job and maintaining a relationship. You Canadians must get more hours in the day than we do down here in Alabama. I really appreciate all that you do.
Camero is really looking good. Great work Dan.
The Internet called, it want's Cragars on the back.
I like the look of the Cragars and steelies. And the stance is minty.
When I've seen window fitters applying mastic, they use an electric gun and shape the nozzle so it comes out and leaves a peak for the glass to squash down,
nice and even and continuous all the way round
Awesome car, Dan.
Car is looking great, man you have done a ton of work in a short time.
You just gotta keep on keeping on
Here's an IDEA take the fenders off install the inner tubs then re-install the fenders
i love this build, best youtube channel hands down.........im canadian, but im not biased cragar ss's are always a win
Dan and Queen glitter chaos. You two are pumping out the videos.please don't Please Don't go
anywhere!! NO BURNOUT!! EXCEPT IN YOUR RIDES!!!😂😂😂loving all the banter you two have!! Dan, my 2 cents. don't down your skills man!! your rocking out a ton of content with your skills.
That is one bad ass car dude!
Your show has the ambiance of Auto Topia, and effervescence of ingenuity!
Cragars and uni-lugs. Mortske is going to have fun with that. 😂
The inner fenders float over the frame they are basically attached to the fender so they don't squeak and clunck when drive and avoid potholes in the street.
i don't care what the car is the minute you put cragers on it,it looks good
It looks wonderful. I like the fact that the crater wheels on the front and that grill is something else. You doing an awesome job? Don't beat yourself up too bad. Keep up the good work, but it is a beautiful car, beautiful
It's looking awesome as ever. Everything is coming together. Keep the great work.
Mortske will love those cragars.
next time heat the blade, that's how I was taught to do it when I worked at an auto glass shop. Or get one of those vibrating cutters and do it from the inside
I would let it go. It’s sitting perfect Love it.
🧢 hats off to you Dan for acting so cool installing that windshield. I always get nervous thinking 💭 I'm going to break them lol 😅
Can't beat a Cragar SS rim except for maybe a set of Cragar Super Tricks.
Finally I get a win... I've been after you since the NomaDD Gasser for a set of Cragars, that day2 look is perfect✌️🙂
Trip to the speed shop... if you took the NomaDD Gasser.... I bet you took the long way home😉 (Supertramp)
Thank you Dani and Dan for the interesting videos.... the Camaro street test can't be far away 🙂👍
Dan is the only guy I've ever heard of who purposely puts steelies in the back and aftermarket wheels in the front because he likes the look. When I was a kid (70s), guys with mismatched wheels would get roasted for it. But at least they had an excuse, no-one made steelies wider than seven inches until the late 90s so they always put the aftermarket wheels on the back. So I don't know where the "day 2 style" idea came from. At least it's entertaining.
Swear to gawd a new dash pad is beyond well worth the money. I'd buy a dash pad before I'd buy speed parts. Just me. Rock on!
Looks great
That inner fender would have gone right on if the car had frame connectors.
Looking good Dan. That thing has come along way.
Awesome content
Great build series
Love all the hard work
Is under the trunk blue ? Rattle can it flat please
You’re supposed to bolt em to the fender and then put he fender on. But you figured it out lol
Thanks for another , Brother !
My cragers have ovel shaped washers that go on with the nuts to centre the wheels
Love the Cragar’s
Steve is perfect, he needs more treats and pets!!!!
good job everyone!
I'd like to know when you're going to get the interior and it's only ben six months
it;s lookin so good Dan !
Looking like it needs a racing number on the side or maybe your Logo on the doors and definitely some performance stickers of what ever parts you used, watch "" Eat my dust "" Ron Howard started in it
Great job. Looks real good. Had a 67 when i was younger
Love the ss cragers. Had them on all my 57s. First set I got were uni-lugs and they needed the offset washers to center them properly. I didnt like them so opted to the direct drill ones
I still don't understand why anytime you try to do anything on a car, it's like its your first time doing anything on a car. lol Anyway, I'm just glad you put the bolts in those inner fenders with the nuts on top so you can see 3.785 feet of threads sticking out into the engine bay. Good thinking! Keep up the work!
Looks good 😊
About time hell yeah 👍 Cragars SS Dan!!
She's turning out beautiful !
Dan, the grill was originally rivetted into the upper and lower tin pieces. Love the Camaro and the Cragars. Keep the videos coming.
That car is looking badass buddy !!!!
Thanks again Dan!!!
That's a badass Camaro! I'm in love with that car!!!Those Cragars on the front look awesome! 😎👍
Dan she Wicked Deadly looking I love it! Keep up the good work. I've been watching your channel since you did the two door conversion on your two lane black top 55. This is my number one goto RUclips channel.
The car looks awesome dan great job on it sofar
Paint a old school Skull on the hood !!! that should get people Excited lol
Cragars on a black car is a good combination 👍.
So much nicer with inner fenders.
Damn I'm very impressed!!!
Very Grumpy Jenkins look happening now. I'm not saying pull the intake and put a tunnelram on, but it would look super cool with that and a grump lump scoop
I love the lowered spoiler look on these but yours looks cool that way. I like it
