For the DEFENDER clone on the BBC Micro, PLANETOID looks graphically brilliant 😺👍🕹️. And the sound effects are Arcade purrfect 😺👍🕹️. And you are today's greatest retrospective hero 😸😺👍🕹️! A retrospective like 👍🕹️ from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮. 😺👍🕹️
Stewart aka Generation Pixel sent me your way while we were walking around Glasgow after a few pints! He told me we have a similar style so I would enjoy your content 😊
Oh wow I’ve never played planetoids on the BBC micro this looks and sounds great. Guess what game I will be booting up on the BBC later…. Great vid as always mate
@@SEGAZombie yes Scott, let me know how you get on, yet another great acornsoft game this, controls take a bit of getting used to but is more like the arcade to be fair. Hope you enjoy it mate, love the fact you have the Beeb now😎
I know I say it every time but just hearing the beeb puts a smile on my face, so distinctive. Looked like a great version/rip off. Will have to fire the beeb up and give it a bash.
With you completely Dave, the distinctive sound effects of the Beeb are so charming and nostalgic, gotta love 'em 😊 Defo worth giving a bash, proper arcade controls(up/down/thrust/reverse etc.) so if you haven't played that in a while it takes some getting used to again.
Absolutely mind boggling how playable this is on such old equipment. I played this on an electron a young lad. Incredible memories, those bleeding flat saucer things used to terrify me
@@markmilenkovic1745 yep this one was extremely impressive especially for a non official port Haha those flying saucers sure were brutal in this one😄 Thanks for watching Mark.
I was just playing planetoid on Saturday night. It's a great version of Defender but the keyboard controls do ruin it a bit. On a Defender note...in some of the old Atarisoft adverts it did say that Stargate(Defender 2) was going to be released for the TI994A. Makes me wonder if there's still a prototype out there in the same way there was a working version of Robotron for the TI. 🤔
@@allanmailer4540 yeah Planetoid is a cracking clone, every bit as good as the official ports. Purist controls aswell. That's interesting what you say about Defender 2 on the TI, imagine if a prototype ever surfaced, guess there's always a chance 😎
@@retroimportgamer513 yeah it's a brilliant version, right up there with the official ports. Wish you could change the keys. It's nice that it's arcade accurate controls(up/down/thrust/reverse etc.) unlike the official ports but those keys wouldn't be my own choice.
This really looks and sounds the part mate
@@retrotap it sure does mate, plays fantastic aswell but it's bloomin' hard😬😄
Good stuff and well played Lee.🌠🕹🍀
@@Pjvenom1985 thanks Patrick, hard as nails this version😄

Cheers Arttu, another great version of Defender here, high quality clone. Hope you're enjoying your vacation buddy😸

Great defender clone beats the TI99 & Atari 800 for me
Yep I think that's a reasonable arguement to make. Retains the proper arcade controls aswell, bloomin tough though!

Looks like a great clone of defender. Nice and colourful

There aint many death sounds better than them lee buddy 😂
Haha whilst that's true, those death sounds were probably a bit more frequent than they should have been🤪
Filling up that leaderboard on a short but sweet beast 👊🏻

This is another great looking beeb title Lee, shame you can't change the keys or play joystick, annoying when they do that 👍

Definitely thinking about getting a BBC after playing at Scotts at the weekend and this is giving more reason to get one
Great video mate 👍
@@ewstargamer ah mate you wouldn't regret it. The Beeb is an awesome computer to own, absolutely love mine.
