Homai to poho Hei piringa To poho hei piringa Homai to kiri Kia rongo atu au To kiri kia rongo atu au Homai te kupu Kia korero Te kupu kia korero Nau nei au Nau nei au aue
I got put the kapa haka leader for this song and it's my most favorite song and my most favorite memory from warkworth school. So thank you so much for giving making this song
Tena koe, Rahera. I can't get enough of this song! I was lucky enough to see a Maori Performing Arts class perform the song when I visited a high school recently, and since then I've been playing around with the song myself too. However, as a pakeha who is only beginning their journey with Te Reo, I've been a little concerned with how appropriate "covering" a Waiata is. Do you have any thoughts on the matter? Would appreciate any advice you could give me :) Nga Mihi
Waiata mai, e hoa! Kia mau te wehi, ka nui te waiata. The more you sing waiata Māori, the better your reo will be. The better your reo is, the more you are doing the waiata justice. Ko ēnei ōku whakaaro :-)
Kia Ora whanau, does anyone know the chords so i can play for my te reo class please, i cant crack those two chords on the intro and the last transition chord for nau nei au
Original kupu/oriori composed by Kuini Moehau Reedy at the beginning of Kohanga Reo (1982), this musical arrangement put together by myself about 6 years ago :)
