  • In 2012, filmmaker and explorer James Cameron made a record-breaking solo dive to the deepest part of the world’s oceans, paving the way for a new era in scientific exploration of the sea floor, the least known area of the planet. Attached to his submersible was an experimental Rolex watch that withstood the colossal water pressure at a depth of 10,908 metres (35,787 feet). “Now,” he says, “we are faced with new challenges, new frontiers, new times." The Oyster Perpetual Deepsea Challenge was built to meet them. Discover more on.rolex.com/43b5pta

I was on the verge of buying a Submariner when I stumbled across an ad for the James Cameron Deepsea Deep Blue….that changed my mind in an instant and I’ve loved the watch for the last six years and it’s a keeper I’ll pass to my son when I’m gone!

I did a lot of research for mine also. My AD got it much quicker that I thought they would. As soon as I tried it on, I said, “I’ll take it!” I will never sell it. I’ll pass it on as well.

And to get one of these watches, you have to go to an AD, buy 20 tudors, get on a waiting list and in 5 years you might get one, but if someone as famous as James Cameron comes by and slaps bands on the table, you will have to wait another 5 years. great watch, but Rolex ADs are killing the brand.
