YES, THE FLASHBACKS TO FIGHTING DIALGA HUNDREDS OF TIMES BECAUSE I WASTED ALL MY REVIVER SEEDS LIKE A MORON. Seriously though, these mystery dungeon games are legit the best because you feel more connected to the pokemon characters in these games than the human characters in the normal pokemon games and this was in my recommended. I haven't played Mystery Dungeon in AGES and you have just reinvigorated me and now show Dusknoir, Darkrai (because I don't just stop playing after the key storyline is over), Gengar (Blue and Red rescue team), Kyurem (Gates to infinity) and everyone who gets in my way that I am still the child who fought them before but now with the strategies of a 20 year old.
This fight manages to be epic, memorable, and satisfying both times. Before, I was a bit blind to the scale and sadness behind this fight. But now, RUclips comment sections and paying more attention to the story have had me love this game's climax even more. This is my favorite Pokemon game ever. 10/10 game, absolute must have.
the articulations where the violins were in the original sound so good here at 1:16, that's my favorite part and I thought it would be worse in 8bit but it's better

This one sounds familiar from that vid 5 years ago and they did that but this one looks like it has familiar sounds except it's higher pitched and has more detail, I forgot about the channel name. Just make sure you make your own or something like that, but it's a good demix tho! Edit: the vid 5 years ago was DeltaNoah's video of his own Primal Dialga 8-bit theme.
Their version sounds quite different, in my opinion. The only similarity is that both of us used waveforms characteristic of chiptune. I make all of my 8-bit covers and pixel art myself from scratch, this cover was made in FamiTracker and the .ftm project file itself is available for download in the description. They used GXSCC for their version. That clarification aside, I’m happy you enjoyed my version as well! :)
Do you think you could make a tutorial on how to convert a Mystery Dungeon song to 8-bit? I see you’ve shared all the tools in the description, but could you perhaps how us how to use said tools?
I’ll keep tutorials in mind, you’re not the first to ask a question like this. For now, have a wall of text: First of all, there is no converting a song to 8-bit. There are applications that allow you to produce music for 8-bit soundchips like the NES/Famicom’s, for example (0CC-)FamiTracker or, if you prefer graphical digital audio workstations instead of trackers, FamiStudio. Within the limits of those soundchips, you have to recreate the song. A midi keyboard is very useful to input notes but you can use a typing keyboard as well. I put Audacity with an mp3 of the original song next to 0CC-FamiTracker to use as a reference. Pressing pause puts the playhead back to where it was before playing which is very useful to repeatedly listen to a part to study it. Pressing ctrl+b creates a nameable marker at the current time which is very useful to separate the song into sections and to always find the part you’re looking for. Some older games like PMD 1 and 2 store music not as regular audio files but as notes to save storage space. If the game and music format have been publicly reverse engineered, I use tools to extract this note data and convert it to a readable format to put it on my other monitor as an additional reference. This is usually imperfect, shows notes that aren’t actually regular notes or doesn’t have all effects, so it’s important not to just blindly use those notes but to always listen to the original song as well. github.com/HertzDevil/0CC-FamiTracker/releases 0CC-FamiTracker is an improved version of FamiTracker with many incredible quality-of-life features. I switched to it last October. If you want to learn how to use it, I recommend these resources: Playlist about FamiTracker’s basic functions: ruclips.net/video/UbGfosQHfm0/видео.html Playlist about what effects do and some ways to use them: ruclips.net/video/2XXVa1IJr14/видео.html Playlist about features of 0CC-FamiTracker: ruclips.net/video/TS0csToBzJU/видео.html FamiTracker Wiki, especially useful to look up effects: famitracker.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page The file “0CC-readme.txt” in the 0CC-FamiTracker folder to look up 0CC-exclusive effects and changes famistudio.org/ I haven’t used the new FamiStudio myself, so I can’t provide that much help if you want to learn it instead. Apparently, it also doesn’t have as many features as (0CC-)FamiTracker yet. This is the official tutorial: ruclips.net/video/YN79633FrDg/видео.html I haven’t watched it yet so I don’t know what it teaches you, watching the FamiTracker tutorials in addition to this one is probably not a bad idea. The same principles apply to both, you just have a different interface. I’m happy to help if you have any questions :)
