    This is a beautiful resort, but it does have the "Flaw" of being too large. It is very possible to wind up having to wait and wait for a bus, as the buses arrive already full from other stops. I prefer French Quarter for this reason. Last time we were in Old Key West, in a giant one bedroom. That resort has 5 stops; we quickly figured out the first stop (Top Tip: the Peninsular Location) to guarantee we got empty buses. I will say that the bus service is great; never waited more than 20 minutes.

      Yeah it’s beautiful but large. Great tip and info at the Old Key West resort. We have never been there but it’s our goal to stay at every resort and do a tour of them. Thank you!

    Great Video. I miss the place so it was nice watching your tour.
    I stayed at three Disney Moderate Resorts (Caribbean, Riverside, and Coronado). All of them had their unique charm but if I had to choose one I'd pick Riverside. (Coronado was also fantastic)
    Riverside was the most 'relaxing' of the resorts. Its kind of tough to explain, but the entire atmosphere was so homey. Both the guests and cast members were more chill and happy compared to the usual hustle and bustle you find everywhere else. Another reason why Riverside wins was their food court. Hands down the best. Good variety, everything I had tasted great, the place was spaced out. Even if it was crowded, you never felt crunched in. Also, there were no complications. Just walk in, pay, sit down and enjoy. I say this because remember one of the other resorts had some odd ticketing system. None of that with Riverside. And of course the grounds were beautiful. I loved taking walks over there and exploring
    The only con I give Riverside was lack of bus stops but I really can't think of anything else.

    Another fun video! Thank you! I stayed there one night when I arrived at WDW from Calif in Jan 2020. My first night ever at WDW. I had the exact same type of room, but in the preferred location near the main buildings since I’m a senior. I moved to Wilderness Lodge the 2nd day, but loved POR a lot and want to stay there again. When my husband and I were at WDW this past June (his first trip) we rode the boat from Disney Springs to POR one evening so I could show him where I stayed. We got to watch HeeHaw Bob for awhile too. Great entertainment! We also went to French Quarter for the beignets. When we move to The Villages we will do overnighters at Disney resorts too like you two do. 😊

    Have you guys ever stayed in Bed & Breakfast inn. Toni and I in 40 of marriage stayed in over 400 B&B’s. She loved the old Historical mansion. The breakfasts are always gourmet style.

    • @lindablair919
      @lindablair919 2 года назад +2

      How wonderful! My husband was never interested in B&B’s. I stayed at one with my sister in Chimney Rock, NC. It was owned by an Irish couple and had themed rooms. Breakfast was orange themed which was interesting since I live in FL.

      My wife has been gone for 12 years so it has been a long time for me. I don’t think we stayed in a B&B in Florida I was a west coast guy. We did stay in them in a lot States. You can go on line for Florida and they should have nice pictures to look at some will show pictures of the rooms. Some B&B’s have the same breakfast others will change the menu. It could be 2 or courses. The best ones are the old historical B&B’s. I saw one called The Mirador down town historical Brooksville, FL 5o miles from my house in The Villages I think that would be a good start. It’s $145 a includes breakfast. Toni and have stay at a couple haunted B&B’s but was disappointed because the ghosts must of been scare of me because we had no hauntings. You do set down with other guests at the breakfast table witch my wife loved she was very sociable and out going. It’s a way to meet travelers and share your experiences there.
      You guys a great keep the videos coming.

      At first I wasn’t to happy there because I was shy but my wife was very out going and sociable about 4 couples of us wood set down for breakfast and know one knew each other and it was quite at first but leave to my wife to start the ball rolling and before you knew it, it was like everyone already new each other. I miss those times but lots of good memories.

    just got back from riverside this week. cute "princess" room!!!!! BUT My beefs - 1. the housekeeping woke us up while napping, even with a sign on door. reading the internet it says they do "safety checks" to combat human trafficking??? I appreciate their concerns, but they woke me up two days in a row, grrr. you know it's an issue, being interrupted while napping, when it's a thing on the internet. When i complained, I was informed by the maid that the small print on the door hanger says they can come into the room any time they want. i didn't like the service help rubbing my nose in it!!! P.S. they did the same thing a few years ago when i stayed at coronado springs. I'd be curious to know if other guests experience the same recurring 'safety checks'??? 2. when i called the front desk to complain about being bothered while i was napping, i learned it was actually a call center and not the front desk at all and the call center was not able to put me in touch with the front desk. 3. the check-in was slow, even though there were a couple of us checking in a little after 3:00, the check-in time. some workers seemed to be coming off of break at check-in time??? 4. the boat wasn't running to disney springs because the water was too low, and the boat was a significant reason for going to riverside. it appears the boats won't be running until a hurricane replenishes the stream? 4. the fast service restaurant seemed disorganized. your video showed it when business was slow??? you should show it when it's busy. it's a bit of a helter skelter. 5. finally, it's super hot in florida during the summer and the room a/c was not as cooling as i had hoped. they're the old style a/c from originally installation, noisy and doesn't cover the whole room. For the price, seems to me there are other places to go which might not be as abrasive.

    • @thealtemlife
      @thealtemlife  3 месяца назад

      Hello, since we live in Florida, we are going to go when it hopefully is a little slower time but it is usually very busy. We haven’t had any issues staying here and enjoy it. Seems like maybe they had an off time but yes they have had the policy to go into your room at anytime for a while now. A lot of times we have to wait until after 4 to check in but sometimes we get lucky and they have a room ready for us early. Maybe next time will be better wherever you stay!

    • @thealtemlife
      @thealtemlife  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hello! Thanks for watching! As far as the distance goes, it definitely depends where Disney puts you but it probably isn’t more than a 10-15 min walk depending on how fast you walk. Luckily, Disney has a lot of bus stops at this location so you will always be within 5 or so min to a bus stop. It’s such a beautiful place. We hope you enjoy it and safe travels!

    Are there wrist bands you have to wear the entire time you’re at the hotel so you can get into the pools?

    • @thealtemlife
      @thealtemlife  Год назад

      Hello! So you access the pools with your magic bands. Most people wear their magic bands all around the resort because it also unlocks your room. You don’t need to wear them, you can put them in a backpack or pocket but just make sure you have it on you. Hope that helps!
