    Thank you SOG for thinking outside the box. I reach for offset pliers 20 to 1 over needle nose or straight pliers and have been wanting a modern interpretation of the offset multitool pliers for years. There are older models from Europe that far predate Leatherman however those are basically collector tools at this point. Hopefully this tool opens up that market and good things come from it

      i carry a pliers wrench, cobra pliers, and a skeletool at work. love the simplicity of the skeletool, but 95% of the time i'm also reaching for the pliers wrench or cobras.

    I like the looks of this multitool. I think it's a great toolset and I like the plier head. The plier head design looks good to turn small, loose bolts in a pinch. I wouldn't fasten anything too tight with a multitool and I don't like to wrench on anything to hard. I'm happy to see a new multitool come out and this doesn't look cheesy or generic.

    Thanks for this update! Good to see SOG is still around. I have the Powerlock, Powerassist and Poweraccess Assist. All good multitools that could be great with better quality and materials. Would be happy to pay more if they could match Gerber USA made tools or Leatherman quality.

    I was just about to type in that it seems ideal for grabbing pots! I use my Knipex Cobra XS for the same, they weigh a little more than a dedicated aluminium pot grip but they are more compact, as well as more versatile. If my stainless steel twig burner needs to get bent back into shape, the Knipex will do it, the pot grip won't. If I go camping/bushcrafting on my bike, again the Knipex are handy for bolts and suchlike. I prefer this to the ''tent peg hook'' on those Gerber camping multitools...I can grab and pull tent pegs with...guess what? Knipex Cobra XS! Victorinox Soldier 08, a fixed blade and Knipex Cobra XS can get most jobs done camping or light bushcrafting. Add in a little Victorinox with scissors in the first aid kit.
    They are a true multitool. You can open bottle caps with the jaws a treat, you can jam a 1/4 in bit in the aperture where the jaws adjust, or a bit extender, and torque up on screws; and I can even file my fingernails (which is very rare) using the knurling on the handles.

    I applaud Sog and Gerber for "trying new things" all we get from leatherman is: hey we have the same tool but now its in a different color 🤣🤣🤣

    For the working and EDC communities have given up on SOG and Gerber, they have failed us a lot in past decade

    Good to see SOG not dead yet.
    However, this looks more like a compromise between a MT & a mini plier.

    All of these new tools and STILL no powerpint with powerlitre clasp? Do they not read comments?

    I would like a Sog “pliers only tool”.
    Their pliers are fantastic, but the rest of the tools are very poor. Just make it slim with a pocket clip. Would be a great sidekick for a Roxon companion or SAK…

    "For pulling pots off campfires". Again, they're taking these situations that are incredibly rare (and there are much better solutions for) but sound "survival-y" and make people feel like bushcraft warriors without actually having anything other than the most niche utility. It's also the 2nd thing they say about "parcel hooks" after pretending that people are pulling tent stakes out of the ground with an awkward little curved slab on the daily. It's weird how people who want to cosplay as outdoorsmen eat these concepts up without realizing how rare their use-cases really are. And, I mean, I guess if they sell, they sell, but it's kind of insulting to our collective intellect.

    It also doesn't look like it could cut wires very well. Believe it or not, but I completely skipped the Flash MT and Aegis MT. I will probably get this just to see what I can do with the pliers.

    Nice thing about the inside tools on sog is they are swappable...

    Those scissors look interesting... Almost look like scissors youd cut dog nails with?
    Slightly unrelated note, but you got me thinking about seeing if i can get the flash and aegis and put something together with the flash pliers and aegis tweezers.
    Not sure if theyere compatible to swap things around but ill just get both and risk it
    after a closer look to them side by side, they are not close enough to swap tools easily.

    Some bashing in the comments but at least they try new stuff, actually for me these are perfect if the saw turns out to be any good

    This is weird... I'm so glad they are still making multitools but this does not seems part of the sog genre

    • @simonh6371
      @simonh6371 22 часа назад +1

      I think they seem to specialise in more ''weird'', or niche multitools. They can't really compete on the more common designs which Leatherman, and to some extent Victorinox do better, their QC is better and the tools are more reliable.

    • @ryangriffith1500
      @ryangriffith1500 21 час назад

      @simonh6371 That's what I love about sog, but this one seems rushed. Their fishing tool makes sense, but this one does not. I'm not trusting that plier head to hold a pot, especially when your hand is over a fire. I don't see this tool selling well. It sucks to hope Sog sticks around just for them to make a half assed tool.

    Hi HVAC!! Let me tell you brother, GSM is a horrible outfit to do business with, fyi. Every time I try to order something there is always a problem!!! I love the SOG products, however, I’m not happy with GSM, employees don’t really care!! So in my opinion I really don’t believe what that representative has to say!!

    HVAC, if GSM is going to continue to represent SOG…!! Im definitely not going to purchase any thing from them. SOG is going down hill because of GSM.
