Susan, these are so beautiful. It’s nice to watch a video by someone that knows the names of the plants and trees. Thanks for sharing. I will be trying my first batch this week. Hugs
Susan, you have got some fantastic results, love the Redwood prints. I have done some eco dying but as I didn’t have a large pot. I lay mine flat and wrapped foil around them but left the ends open. & put them in my oven. For about the same amount of time as you did. But didn’t leave them over night. Thank you for sharing your process. 😊
Stunning results! And what great news that you can freeze the leaves! When you're cooking your papers. does the water in the pan cover all the papers? Can't wait to try this but am healing (slowly) from a badly broken ankle and, despite almost 5 months into the process, it will likely be another 4-5 months before I can walk on even a slightly uneven surface. I need to find a leaf gatherer!
I'm on vacation in Sweden and decided to try this at my summer house. I got great impressions from currant leaves. My daughter says that currants have a lot of iron. Makes sense cause the impressions left look like rust!
Susan these are exquisite! I'm excited to see what you do with them. I wish I could afford to purchase some of your prints. It makes getting back to work more exciting. TFS ❣️💜 💚💛💙 💕
@@SusanTaylorBrown our winters are long here and summer is short, freezing them helps when the spring is warm but nothing growing to play with . I also have many dried ones like oak leaves, they are awesome for prints.
Your papers came out absolutely beautiful I love them all even the ones on the sketch paper because they kind a look like watercolor they’re beautiful thanks for sharing💕💕💕💕💕
Wow Susan! I love these. My freezer is full of ice cream and leaves haha. I tried eco dying some and they didn’t work. They’ve been in for 9 months. Plus, I wasn’t using alum until recently. I’m inspired to try your way. These are gorgeous! Time to go shopping! 🛍
Love your prints! I like the redwood prints, a little variety from all the rest. Good to know we can freeze leaves! I havent tried eco dyeing yet but i have purchased a pan from the 2nd hand store. Its a nice rectangle that i hope to not have that center fold. Many people i see tie up their bundles for good contact. How do you make sure the papers make good contact? Weight them down?
Oh, STB, they are ALL delightful! Did you freeze the dried leaves or pick them! Right now, I have walnut, grape, cherry and rose, hydrangea and peony leaves out there. I guess there are strawberry and raspberry leaves too, but some of them have thorns on them. I found that doing flowers with hard centers made holes in all of my papers. Interesting about the sketching papers turning gray. It looks great in the pad! More, please!
@@SusanTaylorBrown LOL! We have had over 20 rose plants but I think some have bit the dust. My gardener has had problems getting things taken care of and I'm no help. I do have roses that he picks for me. I usually stick them in jars since my vases usually are too large - and I love flowers in jelly jars! I end up with a lot of dried leaves and petals. I need to save them for ecodying! In my great sort-out, I found a bag of pressed maple leaves from who knows when. I have ALWAYS been curious about what I could do with this and that! Ecodying and junk journaling a just perfect for me! ;)
What container do you use? A disposable tin or a turkey toaster with a lid...wondering how the grill is able to shut and how the paper fits flat. Tried to find another video but didn’t see one with the container...if I missed...please post link?! Thank you for all your sharing!
Susan... what is your mixture/combination and ratio of what you use in the container you boil? I know you spray your paper with 50/50 mixture of water and vinegar but I wasn’t sure what you boiled The paper in...
These are gorgeous!! So, if I understand correctly, after you make these, you scan them and then sell the scans on Etsy? Sounds like an interesting business model. Do you sell the originals too for a premium price?
Susan even the ones you are not so thrilled with are absolutely stunning!! wow!

Your eco prints are absolutely the best
I loved every piece of paper you’ve created. They are all beautiful. You are so talented. The best Eco printing I’ve seen.

Susan, they are all great. I didn’t see a one that won’t be lovely in a journal. Good job. I haven’t done anything yet.

I use frozen leaves sometimes as well they work just fine!! Great work !

I love the redwood prints! So cool! You can dye with dried leaves, also. It definitely is labor intensive!

Your results are gorgeous Susan! You spray the leaves with 50% vinegar/water before boiling, did I get it right. Experimenting is so great.
Soo beautiful
Please scan...I want to buy these! 😍🥰😍
Yay!
Frozen leaves?
Lovely work. Do you put a heavy object on top of the stack do the don't float away. Thanks
@@SusanTaylorBrown thank you

Are these going to be titled numbered sets as well? I just want to know what to look for. Thx 🌿
Ok great. Thx
Between the vinegar and natural acid in the plant materials, do you notice any disintegration of the paper from the acid?
Redwoods are so pretty. Is there a way to eco print without having to boil or oven the pages?
@@SusanTaylorBrown i saw a video using distress inks! I’ll give that a try! 🥰
@@SusanTaylorBrown thank you 😘
That first page looks like it may be Poplar.
I'm catching up on videos but do hope you see my comment. What material is your plan or pot made of? Stainless steel? Aluminum? Thank you!
