This was recorded at the Grand Ole Opry on January 9, 1993. It was great working with this line-up of Blue Grass Boys, especially Clarence "Tater" (and sometimes "Spud") Tate.

This is an absolutely essential piece of bluegrass history. Can’t believe this was posted just 6 months ago and has under 1000 views.

P.S. Aside from Tater, the other Blue Grass Boys in this video are on banjo: Dana Cupp, bass: Billy Rose, and guitar: Tom Ewing.

A musicological study of the phrase endings and starts as well as the flatgtened 7th harmonies would be intriguing .

The one singing solo is Tom Ewing, who wrote a 600 page book about his 10 years with Bill Monroe. He lives in Ohio.
