Mike Johnson in the U.S. House of Representatives is pretty much personally responsible for Ukraine being outgunned for six months. Every gain Ukraine made in the first two years is now being lost. They lost the initiative right after the Kharkiv counteroffensive when they really needed a massive influx of continuing support. The Russians were unprepared for further attacks on the lines. Now they are. Our failure is almost criminal.

I believe that the US pretending to be the ally of the Ukraine has used the supposed political conflict in the House of Representatives to excuse the lack of support for Ukraine.
But looking at the problem as a whole, the US decided that fighting the Russians in Ukraine would last for years and end in a stalemate. So the US secretly decided to delay weapons to give the Russians time to advance to the boundary of the Luhansk and Donetsk Oblasts with Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhya Oblasts.
At that point the US will reinstitute some aid to the Ukrainians to hold the line from disintegrating further, and will undoubtedly work through behind the scenes Nation intermediaries to prepare a cease fire and eventual armistice. The could be finalized in the Winter of 2025 if TRUMP is not elected. Otherwise, Trump will probably pull all aid from Ukraine unilaterally and even from NATO, signaling to Putin to continue the assault into Ukraine as far as the Polish border.
If Trump does regain the White House, I would suspect that Ukraine might loose all of the territory East of the Dnieper River, roughly 40% of it's former territory. Ukraine may keep Odesa and Dnipro and Lviv and Kiev, but Kharkiv and the rest will be Russian territory by Summer of 2025.
The next place for Russia to extend it's forces may be Moldova in order to try to cut off Odesa from the South and possibly take that southern Ukrainian spit of land by Romania. Ultimately, Putin would want to return as much of the coast of the Black Sea to Russian control as possible.
That may be difficult as Romania will definitely resist militarily and the US and Poland will support that fight. Again depending on the temporary resident of the White House.
Even if there is a Trump return, with some luck his health will deteriorate and he may even go insane while in office. Trump is a very deranged and dangerous person.
No wonder he likes Putin and Kim so much.

Ukraine hasn't received $6.1 billion. Most of that money stays in the US to fund the weapons industry. Ukraine will receive some weapons, initially $1 billions-worth. While some of them have reached Ukraine, they have not all arrived, and on arrival they have to be allocated to different units according to need, which will probably take several weeks assuming trained crews for all the weapons systems already exist.

Don't get too excited. The territory of Ukraine occupied by Russia is almost identical to the territory held by Russians a year ago. A minor amount of territory has been captured by Russia in the last year at massive expense in Russian lives and armor.

@@bimmebeau it's a war of attrition, which means territory lost and gained is not of great significance.
the 4 key factors in a war of attrition are,
      1. funding
      2. weapons
      3. ammo
      4. manpower.
Now, if you really think Ukraine is enduring better than Russia in all 4 categories, then I have some very bad news for you!

For Ukraine, ammo is an issue, but more is on the way; Manpower is also an issue but conscription is in the works. Funding for Ukraine is fine, but Russia's financial position is deteriorating. Usually losses are 1:3 for defenders and attackers, so larger losses are expected for Russia. The populations of Ukraine and Russia are also in roughly a 1:3 ratio, so neither country has an attrition advantage. Nobody knows how many military deaths there have been but the best estimates I've seen seem to be roughly 30,000 for Ukraine and about 80,000 to 100,000 for Russia, consistent with the 1:3 ratio expected. Potentially Ukraine has an unlimited supply of weapons from allies, while in Russia Soviet stocks will run out. Because Russia has exceptionally low unemployment, the Kremlin will have to face the fact they can either staff new weapons manufacture or the military but not both. Of course Russia can always choose to cover Europe and themselves with radioactivity, but other than that it's not clear who is going to outlast whom. Europe plus the US is an economic behemoth, while Russia has the GDP less than that of Italy. The military budget of the US is larger than the next 10 most powerful countries combined.

When ADOLF HITLER invaded Austria, not one shot was fired. When VL ADOLF PUTLER invaded and occupied end of 1999 Tschetschnia, he wiped out the capital Grozny, installed a puppet government and left 160 000 dead people behind. HITLER used military force when he invaded & occupied the Tschech Republic. When PUTLER invaded and annexed with military force two provinces in his Land of birth Georgia, ( Die Zeit) he installed there a puppet regime as well. When HITLER invaded and occupied with military force on September 1st 1939 Poland, he also installed a puppet regime.
When PUTLER invaded the Donbas in 2014, he liberated the Donbas people from their freedom and prosperity, installed a puppet regime and caused the dead of over 14 000 Ukrainian civil and military people. He shot down a passenger plane causing 298 people to die. The Russian losses in Donbas have been slightly over 2 000 soldiers which have been as cargo 200 in strict secret transported
back to Russia in Zinn coffins. He also installed a puppet regime for the Donetsk and the Luhansk area.
After HITLER invaded and occupied France within 6 month. he installed there a puppet regime too.
After PUTLER wiped out Aleppo, he installed an other puppet regime in Syria.
When HITLER invaded in June 1941 the SU. GB and USA entered the war which did lead to the 2nd world war.
When PUTLER would be winning the war in Ukraine, the 3rd world war would start soon after. I can't see ANY difference between PUTLER & HITLER
