    I love how the PDA insists on reminding that the Mercury II is inoperative. Yes dear, we noticed, seeing as how it's in multiple pieces on the bottom of the ocean and has been there for several years (I think?).
    It would be really cool if you could replay the PDA notice when you find something and get a ping on the radar for it. I never remember where things are.
    This ship portion murders me on a regular basis. I am so bad at not getting lost.
    Mighty convenient how those oxygen plants just happen to grow in areas we need to swim :D (Yeah yeah gameplay but it's funnier to just think they happened to show up in useful areas.)
    Also still amusing how they have those big storage boxes, and each one has like a single bottle of water or a battery. Highly inefficient packing right there.
    These ships seriously need maps on the walls.
    The first game had a lot fewer places to get horribly lost in. For like 3/4 of the game you could always just swim straight up if you got lost.
    Bodies might be a tad grim. I just assumed the fish thought they were delicious.
    I can never find that bunkroom section on purpose, even when I try.
    I love just how incurious Marguerit is. Like, first game, somehow never found the island with the gun. This one, lives right near the places with the parallel processing thingys and just never looked, apparently. She seems to have absolutely no interest in the Architect stuff; she gave her pet one of the tablets as a chew toy :D
    I get the impression she's just antisocial; she wants the tower disabled so they can't spy on her from a distance.
    Subnautica construction. Carefully collect everything you need. Now go get that one thing you forgot :D
    They should put a giant kraken in the next game.
    ...now I wanna feed a pinnacarid.
    I always misjudge how far I've gone and have to look back at the Delta Station beacon for how far away it is.
    ...I never thought about her lack of ship at the greenhouse.
    Knowing after the fact that Marguerit's island is directly next to the satellite island...
    I love how she just shoos Preston like he's a little puppy.
    I would love to read Marguerit's autobiography.
    Marguerit is a *terrible* influence. Might have made a decent drill instructor though.
    Breaking and entering! Yay!
    She knows all the shortcuts. Clearly.
    Love that she goes from threatening us to just "Oh, it's you again"
    It's fun when the designers give completely useless but fun decorating things. Do we *need* a bathroom? No, but yes!

    You say you don't want spoilers or back seating so I've not been leaving many comments. It feels kinda silly to keep leaving a comment every episode saying I like this, yah! I absolutely am on board with you playing and discovering things on your own, but, it is frustrating when you have tools in game and don't use them, then can't progress as well. I mean, you know about gardening but you barely do any. You could plant a lot of things you've discovered and never have to worry about having it at hand, indoor or outside. Creep vine, gel sacs, spiral plant clipping, frost vase, pepper plants, ribbon plants . You specifically mentioned beacons and that you should be using them, but you don't. If you had left a beacon at the first Mercury wreck you had found you would have figured out when you found another part that there was more than one piece. So I like you figuring things out yourself, coming up with theories, it's neat to watch, but it's annoying when you don't make use of the game mechanics. You've been complaining about water. Look at the dang fabricator. It clearly has 2 options to make water, maybe you should try the other option instead of just using bladderfish! I get that the people just blurting out the story or telling you what to do is annoying, but we also can't read your mind and realize what you've just forgotten or that you just don't want to do something so you are ignoring it. I do like watching because I enjoy this game, but come on man! I also feel like this is partly the game's fault because this one isn't put together as well as the first one, but let's watch this one and see how it goes. Thanks for sharing the fun!

      we could translate the hints/ backseating into a foreign language, like mandarin or japanese or something, just leave a small description in english. that way Lukael can decide for his own if he wants to read the hint.
      and you are right about the farming, Heck build a big room is way more cost effective than all these small rooms, but not my play, not my say.

    • @LukaelPlays
      @LukaelPlays  2 дня назад +3

      It's a bit of a "give an inch, take a mile" situation. I'd be totally open to people offering gameplay hints or advice, but as soon as I open that door people fly in with full blown spoilers explaining the entire game to me.
      To be honest, I did forget you can plant anything in those planters 😆 hence why I only planted fruits and food. But there's also the fact I'm just not a "do everything in the most optimal way possible" kind of gamer. I could take time to build a garden, make some planters, plant some gel sacs, sure. Or, I could just go out to grab some on the rare occasion I need them, it's on my path and it only takes a moment. If I was in a really long game and wanted to invest a lot of time on my base to make it more efficient, then I might have, but Below Zero is fairly short so I'd rather focus on making progress yknow?
      It comes down to different playstyles. Somehow Subnautica is the only game where I get people telling me I'm playing the game "wrong". (I guess because it's survival so it's very open with a lot of freedom?) No, I haven't been using every single tool and option available in the game, and yeah maybe it would have saved me some trouble sometimes, but I've been progressing just fine regardless so why does it matter?

    I watched this two days ago, but at the time, my keyboard was drying so I couldn't comment as I went.
    The Mercury wrecks are a little more tricky to navigate than the Subnautica ones, just because they are much less linear. I remember mentally trying to break it into sections, the same way as trying to thoroughly explore dungeons in other games. But only in Subnautica did I have that one or two notorious sections that I drowned in more than once. Hiding holes in walls under stairs, those bastards. 😅
    I feel like every video I end up saying something about electricity sources, even tho I don't think it's important. What power source you use depends on what tech and what resources are available to you. Like I set up a lot of nuclear, just because I heavily explored a biome looking for rubies, but instead got a shitload of uranium. It makes a lot of sense to not use bio, if you have a base where there is little life, and you don't want to mess with farming. Also makes sense to use a lot of solar if you aren't big on resource collection. Just a bit of copper n quartz n you're set. I think when I set up nuclear, it took me like 20 in-game hours to burn out the rods, and at that point, I didn't need that base anymore. But like I said elsewhere, with these games I like immersing a bit more and not just running from one beacon point to another. So you know. I say to everyone, when it comes to life, just do what feels right. I know too that as a content creator, you concern yourself with what your audience may or may not find boring. I just love the exploration, trying to absorb and appreciate the effort made into creating the whole of the environment.
    I wonder if the stillsuit works better in BZ. I felt like in the first game it didn't produce nearly enough water, but seems to definitely be working for you here. One less survival mechanic to spend time maintaining.
    Mixed feelings about the sea truck, and whether or not the other modules are worthwhile, and when. I experimented a bit, but missed the sea moth.
    Agree with you on the art thing. Like what year is it now, and there have been no famous poets since the 19th century worth quoting? I guess it could be true, in the future dystopian corporate hellscape.

    You don't find bodies because they are taken by "nature". In Africa, when animals attack people, there are very few clues behind. Since the size or our animals is not that big, the people they go behind are usually children. They just disappear. Most often the bodies are never found. Sometimes they find one bone or two that are human, but just because they know very well what they are looking for. Preys are devoured not just by their hunter, then come the scavengers. Then insects and currents or rain, in a few days there's nothing left.
    Subnautica is actually pretty realistic. In a world full of super predators... there's not even bones behind. Everything is consumed.

    • @LukaelPlays
      @LukaelPlays  2 дня назад +2

      Makes sense for bodies out in the open, but for bodies left inside wrecks of ships, only smaller fish would get to them, so yeah maybe they'd get at the flesh and bones, not so much the clothes, metal tools & accessories etc. Truth is most likely there's no corpses because the devs didn't want corpses laying around everywhere in the game lol

  • @Boedullus1
    @Boedullus1 2 дня назад +2

    You know, the cryptosuchuses (cryptosuchusi?) are so freaking loud and annoying, but... they die to like a bump or two from the sea truck. I try not to kill animals when I play Subnautica games, but I can't help it with them. They roar like reaper leviathans about to swallow you and your seamoth whole. So freaking annoying -- but easy to eliminate, and bonus, they don't respawn.

    So, you still had the beacon at Delta base, right? The base where she said she was 1 kilometer out? So maybe go east and look back at the beacon and when you are about a kilometer from it is where you would start searching?
