1) best to buy Icoca or Suica card?
2) is there a train from Sannomiya station to Kyoto? Or have to go to Shin-Kobes station?

1) If you will arrive and depart at Kansai airport, it's better for ICOCA. Because that is available for refunding at Kansai airport.
2) Yes there is. However if you will get "JR PASS", Shinkansen is fast and comfortable to Kyoto. Please check the video '#55 Do you know a monster train in Kansai SPECIAL RAPID'🤗

If taking Shinkansen from Kobe to Kyoto can I buy the ticket from Sannomiya station or need to buy from Shin-Kobe station. Pls advise. Thanks
