Lines like the darkness inherited from dad and thinking you can somehow just pile enough good on top, I wish I couldn't relate to that as well as I do. And the bit about "I dream each night..." That is such a beautiful piece of poetry that sums up so well that moment you realize you made someone up in your head who wasn't actually on the other side of that relationship. But her re-write of that line, dude, if someone had stabbed me right through the heart with a physical blade when that line landed, I wouldn't have felt the blade.
