I usually give games from the early 2000s a pass when it comes to animation and graphics. However, after I remembered that Kingdom Hearts came out in that same era, there’s no excuse.
Tbh, I kinda feel like that’s a bit of an unfair comparison since Square Enix has unmatched production value in all their games. Even Chrono Cross on PS1 had amazing special effects that made it almost look like an early PS2 game.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was surprisingly good. It didn't try to be realistic and went for a stylized art direction and the Dementor sequence on the train was absolute nightmare fuel for me as a kid.
@@newgameld2512 It's more unfair to imply that anyone else gets a free pass because someone (square Enix) really did their homework. And "unmatched" it's a bit of an hyperbole, it makes them look the only ones who make good looking games and that's just Strawmanning

Hey. I also have this game. I quit when I had do to a long stealth section to get into the library, then another long stealth section to get out of the library. There’s too much stealthing around hall monitors and teachers in this Harry Potter game. At least I managed to finish the third, fourth and fifth games.
This game was one of the 2 games that came with our Xbox when I was 6 years old, so it was one of my first times playing a video game ever. Yes, it was difficult. It took 6 months to beat, but admittedly, my parents had a 1 hour time limit on games back then. So it probably wasn't that bad. The only part for me that was actually so hard it felt unfair, was the Avifors spell challenge. You have to do a sequence of jumps around a room while ghosts try and hurt you, and one of the jumps is pixel perfect, I kid you not. I replayed the game last year, and the Avifors challenge was the only part that gave me trouble. Everything else wasn't too difficult. Even that prefect part in this video. I struggled with that as a kid, but as an adult I kinda breezed through it. Sneaking almost puts you at a disadvantage because it slows you down and makes you easy to spot. But yeah, game isn't bad. Just tough. And lacks rewarding goodies for doing tasks. The biggest unlockable is the Alohomora spell book, and all that does is let you get more wizard cards.
What do you have against dear old Harold James Potter? He's such a lovable scamp! Always running around, casting spells every which way! Messing around with his best friends Hermione and the other one!

At the very least, I don't remember the Library bit and I don't have to tell you that that's an ordeal that you don't forget. I do remember getting stuck in Snape's storage room looking for Polyjuice potion ingredients though. And Peeves was there, which wasn't the worst but still. Might be worth giving the PC version a go
