I cant help myself, but to listen to this track on loop, one time after the other... so fucking brilliant !!!! hope my octa journey will lead in to similar frutition in time .) LUXURY stuff !!!
I'll remember this set: it was posted on the day I went out help our country as a military during the first Corona wave, which happened to be my birthday as well...
Thank you! Yeah the elektrons are amazing instruments if you jive with their workflow. The great thing is that you can do full tracks and livesets on pretty much all of their individual machines
just curious how you are doing transitions between patterns ? It sounds very smooth almost like DJing .. does octatrack preserve FX tails between patterns ? So far as i understand, you use delay as looper to loop ending part of one pattern and then you switch to other pattern, and slowly fade out looped sequence from delay - or i am completely wrong ?
I‘m resampling the master track into one of the audio tracks. When moving the fader the resample track fades in while the rest fades out. I can change to the next song in the background while the resampled material of the previous song keeps playing. Moving the crossfader again brings in the new song. Here is an old tutorial that explains this technique, known as transition trick amongst octatrack users 🙂
Very nice. Love the Bicep vibe in the first half. Do you still own an OT? Would be nice to see you do more. Also, did you do much post-processing of the output in a DAW for this set?
Thank you! Never heard of Bicep… Have to check it. I still own and use the OT, I only became lazy with youtube. But I might record another set this year. Only post processing was a waves ll3 limiter to increase the overall level a bit. Nothing else. Thanks for listening
@@Unifono2012 thanks for the info. Glad to hear you still have the OT and looking forward to another set from ya. Also very interesting regarding the post-processing. Cheers 🍻
Nice mix. Melodic. I'm tired of all the atonal crap I keep hearing made on this machine. I bought one too recently and you can really create melodic stuff on it although the chromatic mode is rather limited compared to OP1 or OPZ.
Thank you. I agree it's not the best machine for creating melodies (though totally possible). I rather create melodic stuff on other devices and sampling them into the OT. Or just transfer existing loops to it. I love it for slicing and effecting existing samples
Thank you! I resample the master output to one track. When I move the crossfader, all other tracks get muted but the resampled loop is still audible. I can change pattern in the background. When I turn the crossfader over again, the resampled track fades out while the new pattern is introduced. Check Octatrack transition trick by Tarekith on youtube. He came up with it 👍
this video makes me want an octatrack. Great sounds, great music to work from home to
Thank you! Get one, it's great :)
One of the best demonstrations of that lovely beast that I've seen and heard so far. Kudos!
Thank you!!

Thank you! Have fun on your octa journey 🙂
This is so good! Inspiring performance -- makes me want to bust out my OT to get better at it.

Thanks a lot! 🙂
Great stuff man. Also, Elektron must make fantastic gear. I've been hearing incredible live jams from guys using just one Elektron instrument.
Thank you!

Very nice! Q: are melodic patterns made on octatrack or they're pre-made loops?
Thank you! They are all premade loops, but many of them were originally created on the octatrack as well.
love this! how are you transitioning between songs?
Thank you!

surprisingly posh
Bruno Wiebelt thank you!
This is yet another prove that you don't need to be famous to be an excellent musician.
Dankeschön 🙂
Nice work, pretty laid back. Are you using the compressor on channel 8? Some of the kicks seem a little high in level, like at min 25.
Gullefjun thanks! I‘m having a compressor on the kick channel, but it sometimes tend to have them too loud. Thanks for the feedback
