      @@baberuthless Fei Long's stage isn't the first stage to have ostensibly inanimate objects suddenly come to life; the mural in E. Hoda's bathhouse stage comes to life at the end of every round and the mural is clearly a painting and not a projection of a video against the wall. I think these two stages are the only stages in the Street Fighter universe that have elements that are obviously fantastical.

    Great Video. I used to think that Fei Long's stage was a movie set (due to Fei being an actor in SF Lore) and that the creatures were able to move due to being mechanical.

      @@baberuthless If Fei appears in SF6 weather he’s in the base roster or DLC he should have a stage similar to his SF2 stage.
      Perhaps you can see engineers watching the fight and repair the creatures(maybe once the fight ends the Engineers could get spooked by the roars?) and also camera operators could be filming the fight in the background?

      @@MysterioGyllenhaal19 that’s an incredibly good twist on a classic stage! I think something like that has respect for the original stage and also adds more character to fei long too! Now at this point I’ll be disappointed with anything less if they don’t do that now 😂

      @@baberuthless I’d like Capcom to do something better than my idea tbh I’d my like my expectations to be exceeded.
      Also I don’t know if it counts but I’d like to suggest a video topic based on a stage from Twisted Metal 2012 (specifically Sweet Tooth’s Carnival of Carnage ) I know it’s not considered as a fighting game at first glance but it borrows elements from fighters I.e, story mode, specific buttons to pull of moves, etc.
      If not then Tekken Tag 2’s Hall of Judgement would make for a great analysis imo

      @@MysterioGyllenhaal19 Capcom in SF6 seems to be getting a lot of SF2 stages and kinda reimagining them or adding some extra pizzaz but well see if fei long even gets added at all.

    I remember seeing this stage for the first time in arcades. I had only played the first SF2 on SNES before this, and at first I blown away by the updated graphics and new characters. But then I got to fight on the new stages like Cammy's which blew me away. And then Fei Long's was cool since I loved dragons and phoenixes, but them moving and roaring after a win really took me by surprise, and even scared me. At first I thought they were just statues too. But the arcade cab was loud, so the roars were loud. I was like 5 or 6 at the time, and the fact they just moved out of nowhere made me even more interested in the stage lol.

    5:00 You can "unzoom" the game from its default 16:9 aspect ratio back to 4:3 aspect ratio and see the entire stage just like every prior version of the game. This "uncuts" the Chinese text on the floor and the buildings on the top left. This is because HD Remix achieves its fake widescreen presentation by cropping the top and bottom of the screen and zooms in to fill the screen.

    • @baberuthless
      @baberuthless  Год назад +1

      Ah that explains a lot. I was stuck using the Ultra street fighter 2 version on the switch so ill have to check if i can do the same thing on that version as well.

      @@baberuthless You can play in 4:3 mode in Ultra Street Fighter II, but only with the original pixel art; the new HD art is locked to the 16:9 mode. HD Remix allows the use of the HD art in both aspect ratios. Xbox 360 and PS3 emulation on Windows is fast and accurate enough to play HD Remix, so consider those options if you can't get to those old consoles.

    Fei-Long's stage is definitely homage to Tiger Balm Garden. His stage was sort of even featured on the Street Fighter 2 V anime. Fei-Long meets Ryu and Ken through Chun-Li. While filming his movie he asks Ken to take part in a fight scene that he wants to be real. His theme songs were always a hit. The song from OC Remix I remember downloading and listening to a few years before it was added to SF2 HD Remix. I remember being obsessed with it so much that my friends had to stop me lol. The HD Remix OST I'm not much a fan of overall, but there are select few tracks in my opinion I think are solid.

    The MS-DOS/PC CD version of Super SF2 Turbo has the very best version of Fei Long's theme. Sadly, it's too short and not exactly loop-able. GameTek/Eurocom or whatever, in their infinite wisdom (pfffft) decided to make it so that there's no such thing as infinite battle time. It kinda makes sense why they did it that way, because all of the music was designed to be played directly off the CD, rather than some compressed format like MP3. Mind you, back then in the early 90's (which is when this port came out), most computers lacked the processing power to 'stream' MP3's, let alone come shipped with a sound card...... that's right... you had to buy an add-in sound card to hear anything off of the games at the time! lol!

      Liked the HD version a bit more, also is cool that it was in an amusement park, makes a lot more sense than having dragons in Street Fighter. AS for stages to recommend I absolutely love Oceanic Express in DNF Duel, the sound of a train running on water is ASMR AF

      @@claudiomonteverdi847 that’s a good suggestion! I certainly need to play more DNF duel to understand more of these stages

    5:26 That's actually Angurius' roar from the Showa Godzilla films. Godzilla's one time enemy (in the Showa Era) and closest friend. The replaced roar is just generic unfortunately.
