@@baberuthless Fei Long's stage isn't the first stage to have ostensibly inanimate objects suddenly come to life; the mural in E. Hoda's bathhouse stage comes to life at the end of every round and the mural is clearly a painting and not a projection of a video against the wall. I think these two stages are the only stages in the Street Fighter universe that have elements that are obviously fantastical.
Great Video. I used to think that Fei Long's stage was a movie set (due to Fei being an actor in SF Lore) and that the creatures were able to move due to being mechanical.
@@baberuthless If Fei appears in SF6 weather he’s in the base roster or DLC he should have a stage similar to his SF2 stage. Perhaps you can see engineers watching the fight and repair the creatures(maybe once the fight ends the Engineers could get spooked by the roars?) and also camera operators could be filming the fight in the background?

Also I don’t know if it counts but I’d like to suggest a video topic based on a stage from Twisted Metal 2012 (specifically Sweet Tooth’s Carnival of Carnage ) I know it’s not considered as a fighting game at first glance but it borrows elements from fighters I.e, story mode, specific buttons to pull of moves, etc. If not then Tekken Tag 2’s Hall of Judgement would make for a great analysis imo

Stages from non-Capcom games? KOF '97 had some interesting stages that tell you EXACTLY where you are in the world, down to the venue. One stage in particular looks VERY similar to Disneyland (and it's located in the exact same place in the world, too)

I remember seeing this stage for the first time in arcades. I had only played the first SF2 on SNES before this, and at first I blown away by the updated graphics and new characters. But then I got to fight on the new stages like Cammy's which blew me away. And then Fei Long's was cool since I loved dragons and phoenixes, but them moving and roaring after a win really took me by surprise, and even scared me. At first I thought they were just statues too. But the arcade cab was loud, so the roars were loud. I was like 5 or 6 at the time, and the fact they just moved out of nowhere made me even more interested in the stage lol.

5:00 You can "unzoom" the game from its default 16:9 aspect ratio back to 4:3 aspect ratio and see the entire stage just like every prior version of the game. This "uncuts" the Chinese text on the floor and the buildings on the top left. This is because HD Remix achieves its fake widescreen presentation by cropping the top and bottom of the screen and zooms in to fill the screen.
Ah that explains a lot. I was stuck using the Ultra street fighter 2 version on the switch so ill have to check if i can do the same thing on that version as well.

HD Remix allows the use of the HD art in both aspect ratios. Xbox 360 and PS3 emulation on Windows is fast and accurate enough to play HD Remix, so consider those options if you can't get to those old consoles.

Fei-Long's stage is definitely homage to Tiger Balm Garden. His stage was sort of even featured on the Street Fighter 2 V anime. Fei-Long meets Ryu and Ken through Chun-Li. While filming his movie he asks Ken to take part in a fight scene that he wants to be real. His theme songs were always a hit. The song from OC Remix I remember downloading and listening to a few years before it was added to SF2 HD Remix. I remember being obsessed with it so much that my friends had to stop me lol. The HD Remix OST I'm not much a fan of overall, but there are select few tracks in my opinion I think are solid.

The 3DO version feels like the Chinese styled theme from Hong Kong. HD Remix feels like a style played from China. Maybe do like Japan Team from KOF 94? Or from KOF 95.
The 3DO and HD remix soundtrack is something I wish was in more games but I’m sure there’s some legal thing preventing that I’m glad KOF is getting much love! I certainly will put that on my list!

Considering the Alpha 3 review of Balrog stage in your Balrog video I suppose you're aware of Alpha 3 Hong Kong stage (well, there is two considering Gen, but obviously I'm talking about Fei Long's). I doubt you're thinking about doing a video on that stage in particular so what are your thoughts on the stage and soundtrack (which btw i love it, great song 10/10)?
If it’s the stage I’m thinking of and it’s the one that looks like it’s from enter the dragon I do love that stage a lot! The song is also pretty solid. I do plan on covering a majority of alpha 3 stages in a single video someday!

The MS-DOS/PC CD version of Super SF2 Turbo has the very best version of Fei Long's theme. Sadly, it's too short and not exactly loop-able. GameTek/Eurocom or whatever, in their infinite wisdom (pfffft) decided to make it so that there's no such thing as infinite battle time. It kinda makes sense why they did it that way, because all of the music was designed to be played directly off the CD, rather than some compressed format like MP3. Mind you, back then in the early 90's (which is when this port came out), most computers lacked the processing power to 'stream' MP3's, let alone come shipped with a sound card...... that's right... you had to buy an add-in sound card to hear anything off of the games at the time! lol!

For non-Capcom games, I would suggest the Fighter's History games and the Real Bout Fatal Fury games. Playstation All Stars and Smash Bros have some great stages, but I don't know if any of them reference any places other than the games that characters are from.
Fighters history I feel goes under the radar for some of there dope stages so I’d love to shine a light on that game. Ps all stars is a great suggestion! Even though it doesn’t have any historical references it be great to talk about their games origins
@@baberuthless tbh I kinda got into my Bacground phase like a Year ago, bacground need love, not oly in fighting games (mostly yes) but also in concept arts. Tbh imo, I do wanna know about the Backgrounds from the game "Kizuna Encounter", on of my fave games. I didint advice it at first cus SNK games tend to do fight in "South Town", a made up city in in SNK//KOF lore kinda like Metro City in Street Fighter//Final Fight. Stage that came in mine are Samurai Showdown then MAYBE Last Blade.
I definitely want to do guilty gear someday! I’m just intimidated by it’s insane lore 😅 I feel like I need to fully understand the lore before i talk about the stages at all

Liked the HD version a bit more, also is cool that it was in an amusement park, makes a lot more sense than having dragons in Street Fighter. AS for stages to recommend I absolutely love Oceanic Express in DNF Duel, the sound of a train running on water is ASMR AF
5:26 That's actually Angurius' roar from the Showa Godzilla films. Godzilla's one time enemy (in the Showa Era) and closest friend. The replaced roar is just generic unfortunately.

This stage is also in Jojo's Heritage for the Future, where you see the main wall better, including the entrance gate.
The soundtrack of the 3DO version of Super Street Fighter II Turbo came from the FM Towns' version of Super Street Fighter II released a year earlier.

If you want some non capcom stage recomendations i sugest kof 96 or tekken tag 2 tulip festival stage
KOF 96 def has some good ones it be hard to choose! Also very good idea with the tulip stage i think that one in particular would make for a good vid!

@@baberuthless tbh I kinda got into my Bacground phase like a Year ago, bacground need love, not oly in fighting games (mostly yes) but also in concept arts.
Tbh imo, I do wanna know about the Backgrounds from the game "Kizuna Encounter", on of my fave games. I didint advice it at first cus SNK games tend to do fight in "South Town", a made up city in in SNK//KOF lore kinda like Metro City in Street Fighter//Final Fight. Stage that came in mine are Samurai Showdown then MAYBE Last Blade.

Yeah, the roars from a lot of Kaiju monsters are samples you can pay to use.
Super Metroid uses a lot of Kaiju samples for bosses roars.
So, the dragons and phoenix in the background are supposed to be real? O.o

I definitely want to do guilty gear someday! I’m just intimidated by it’s insane lore 😅 I feel like I need to fully understand the lore before i talk about the stages at all
@@baberuthless haha yeah I can understand that some stages are lore related so having a better understanding would help when it comes to the locations and the smaller details. Actually yeah I understand now lol I can wait though I’m just happy that someone is tackling stages since I’ve always felt they were just as important as the characters

Liked the HD version a bit more, also is cool that it was in an amusement park, makes a lot more sense than having dragons in Street Fighter. AS for stages to recommend I absolutely love Oceanic Express in DNF Duel, the sound of a train running on water is ASMR AF

5:26 That's actually Angurius' roar from the Showa Godzilla films. Godzilla's one time enemy (in the Showa Era) and closest friend. The replaced roar is just generic unfortunately.
