Good morning Ryan and everyone! I hope you don't leave us but your health is definitely more important. I'm gonna think positive and hope that Sara might decide to join you as that would be an extra set of thumbs 👍🏻 🤞but so would a tractor with a grapple and attachments. In the meantime, I'm going to go back to the beginning and replay all your videos and let them play on. I have YT pemium so no ads but a portion of that premium goes to you as well as watch hours. All the best to you and TYSM for sharing your journeys with us! It's never a dull moment. 💜
I hope you do get your big heavy equipment that you have been thinking about. I have watched you from the beginning Ryan and I would miss my Saturday morning fix.
Saturday morning Ringworm !!! My favorite. This is sweet! Loader mini tractor incoming? That will open many possibilities for new awesome forest projects
I look forward every Saturday to your video's! That dog of yours is definitely one of the weirdest dogs I've seen. Good job on helping him overcome his fears.
1:15 THE FLOOR IS LAVA!!! 😧😨😱 The howling is hilarious!!! I had 2 Malamutes and when the sirens would go off at the fire station they'd sing their hearts out! 🐺💙
Another great video Ryan. Always entertained by the way you design projects. Poor little K-dawg was designed to be trekking thru the Burmese mountains, he’s intelligent and full of energy. He don’t speak who-man, but he’s saying, he’s just bored and wants a job or an adventure. Even fetching a duck training decoy. You’re his only friend, and just wants to play and burn up some endorphins. Or even a pack walk thru the property, to exercise his sniffer. He’s a lucky dawg living free n being spoiled. Looking forward to seeing him every week. Thanks for living our dream. 🇨🇦 SK
Ryan I look forward to Saturday morning to watch the Worm. Every Saturday my dog Tiny, 80 lbs gets up in my recliner with me and will watch your entire video. She never notices tv unless it’s you and Kuiper. Thanks for enriching our lives.
I look forward to seeing you every Saturday, and I don't want to stop. But it's more important to take care of yourself. I'm looking forward to seeing many more shows 😀
Good afternoon Ryan from Alabama , You can wait up to a year to the good to have him fixed . He's so cute almost sounds like a bear crying when he's doing that . I've had all boys in the last 25 years , I've loved them all . Good luck many blessings .. 🙏🏻
Just saying this out of concern for your head or eyes, consider rounding over that sharp edge of Kuiper sign on the dog house or you might run into it. Don't want you to get hurt. Love your videos! Looking forward to the outdoor kitchen build continuation as well.
I used to patrol the AT from Hanover to Franconia and the Lincoln Woods Wilderness Area in NH for almost 16 years total ending in 2003 ish. BEST JOB I EVER HAD !! I also did the whole AT in the late 60's thru the mid 70's , twice , the Continental Divide Trail , the Pacific Crest Trail and a few in Denali . Trail name ,,,Talks with Animals with a turtle symbol which you'll still likely find on shelters and rock faces along my way . Retired now , living in a cabin on a brook , way up in the mountains of VT surrounded by forest lands and I couldn't be any happier. Life is good at the High Mountain Homestead !
Thanks for the video Mr. Ringworm ! In response to the comment: "I don't know who he thinks he (Kuiper) is talking to . . ." From Kuiper's perspective Ryan is a guy who talks to and performs for a tiny plastic box (the camera.) The dog probably thinks that the plastic box is like his imaginary friend or something equally weird. 😜 Irwin Tools calls that large bit that Ryan mentioned a: "Lockhead Adjustable drill bit. 91.8K
Wanted to let you know you were the first channel I subscribed to. I started watching when you had been in the woods about 6 months! I love Saturday mornings have a coffee and watching Ringworm! I hope your back gets better! I’m 63 and I had a car accident in 1977. I was on a country road in the piney woods of East Texas. I was in a 1970 Monty Carlo the tie rod broke and in the bar ditch I went totaled the car and my back. So I understand back pain! It’s debilitating! Praying for you! Again Keep on Truckin!😎🇺🇸
On mounting the fabric to the frame on the dog bed, carving some hard wood pegs to look kinda like nail that fit through the grommet holes then into drilled holes in the frame.
Everything is looking so awesome. Great job Kuiper, what a beautiful, smart boy he is! Dogs are so funny, they all have different personalities and quirks...ya gotta love those fur babies. Lol I'm a new subbie, hope y'all stay around a while. Big hugs from Texas!!😁🐾🤩
The sound that doggy-bed fabric made when Kuiper was playing on it with the towel, might make his skin crawl (it made mine). Maybe, try covering it with a thick cozy flannel sheet?
That material has never been acceptable to any of my dogs. A couple of layers of fluffiness is needed. Also most dogs like to have a big bolster pillow around the sides- gives them more positions to get into and makes them feel safe.
Prevent drills pulling your wrist. Get a chuck adapter for your impact driver and use your impact driver for large drill bits. It will not rotate on you and break your wrist. Also, impact drivers eat less batteries than drills.
No , is a good word to teach your dog , and the meaning of that first word...I do that with my cats,..that way you find out how smart(bright) they are,how well they can/will 'mind' & things they 'purr-sist' to get what they want/like .Show/teach(hand signage)to couple with the word no,put your palm out,in their face to show ,no, they soon learn,,then, the word enough/stop/desist to stop the continuos need for affection, give that affection in a short duration, before saying, thats enough ..😮😊😢😂🎉
He is howling. Try howling with him. It's hard not to laugh while we are trying to howl. I like howling with my dog. Get close to him while one howls too. They may evan bark into the wind too. Have fun. Enjoy the doggie everyday. This breed only lives a short time and can have hip problems latter on. Was looking over some of the breeds for a homestead. Paul in Ohio
Ryan, maybe a non slippery cover on his dog bed Or… fun challenging project - could you make a floating doghouse floor with that same mesh you make his outside beds with? He really likes them and it’d breathe better than a mattress. Side note: I don’t have good hand strength anymore so I use a mixer drill because it has a side handle so I can hold with both hands - doesn’t feel like it’s gonna snap my wrist and I can apply more pressure.
Some dogs/animals get weird when there's diff flooring underfoot, sometimes something as simply as a wooden board or towel between the doors covering the transition is enough to help them.
When using an adjustable boring bit, or any boring or cutting device in wood, to prevent tear out on the exit side, clamp the good board to a piece of sacrificial lumber.
27:15 He is matching the tone of your planer. My guess is if you sat and softly howled at a steady pitch, he would join in and if you changed pitch mid howl, he'd follow along. He probably won't howl with you at first, because you don't normally howl. Maybe if you howled when he howls and match him first. Some dogs howl with emergency sirens. I had a dog that would howl along with slow orchestral music.
beautiful Kuiper is starting to talk, u just have to listen, and i LOVE his howl too, i sure hope Sara will come join u permanently, that would help with an extra pair of hands, take care untill next time.
I think the power tool's motor driver works in the typical above 20KHz, so that humans can't hear the PWM drive switching. I think dogs can hear the ultrasound part as well as what we can hear. I'm not sure if that's good or bad! He's awfully cute and very smart. Many things are still new to him and it's fun to watch him grow.
Maybe try a square end plow share type tent fly with that perforated material then you can just use paracord between trees for the fly instead of doing any additional structure making the bed heavier ? Kuiper already has his log frame hammock plus with a detached tarp type set up it would be more portable overall . A plow share rain fly and hammock was my go too on the AT for > 16 years and it worked out GREAT and easy peasy besides ! Just a thought,,,,,
Dang you must have giant woodpeckers! I have a Robin in my yard today I'm in mid Michigan(Crystal Lake area. You don't see robins in the winter.I have 2 kitties Tom and Petty they are very skittish, visitors have only seen pictures of them.Anyways they are indoor cats, and Tom got out a week ago he is staying under my house and he won't come in.Of course I have been giving him food and water but I think I might have to stop feeding him.I am definitely building a catio this spring.
About your chainsaw not revving up try cleaning the sreen located in your muffler ie spark arrester. Remove it heat with propane torch flick away ash and reinstall.
Consider asking your dog his feelings on lasers. Sometimes, with the right dog, they can be a great backup plan. If their two brain cells are concentrated on the dot they tend to forget about their silly fears in the moment.
Ryan you were wondering about why the area around the sawdust pile had more snow than other areas. I think it is because you have the basic ingredients of what's called, "Pykrete," there. Pykrete is a combination of ice & sawdust and when mixed properly you can create blocks that melt at a slow pace. It was proposed that a huge Pykrete ship could be created to be a floating aircraft carrier for the North Atlantic during WW2. There was an experiment done in Canada but it never got beyond the testing phase. I was thinking you could make some Pykrete blocks and fit them together like large Lego blocks to form whatever you need. I was thinking you could build a form to make a sheet of Pykrete to put over the spot on your bridge so your 4 wheeler wouldn't get stuck in the hole over that bridge you have on your property.
Ryan, you really have to be careful out there. Your back issues never fully heal and I would hate for you to get "stuck" out there without any help. Kuiper is getting so big and waiting to get him fixed is better for him. His howling is so cute.
14:47 I swear he shook his head yes in response 🤣 I have an American building that will nod yes when asked questions sometimes. That or she will make an audible sound with the nod.
Ryan, I’ve been following you for a couple of years and would love to see some of your AT hike. Do you have any videos from those days and if so a link?
Kuiper is NOT weird, he's intellegent! He can see you can close the inside door on him when he is in the doghouse and is affraid of that (being closed of from the love of his life.... YOU! 😊
Good morning Ryan and everyone!

I love the little white color under Kuiper's nose. Makes him look like he's got little buck teeth.
Kuiper singing along with your power tools & singing the songs of his tribe!
Thanks for giving me my usual Saturday smile time.
Kuiper's a star.
I hope you do get your big heavy equipment that you have been thinking about. I have watched you from the beginning Ryan and I would miss my Saturday morning fix.

Thanks for sharing your adventures with Kuiper. Dogs make life so much richer and more enjoyable. I look forward to your videos every Saturday!
Another Saturday started right …. Thanks Ryan and your sidekick- have a safe week.❤
Your surprise that’s coming is exiting! Looking forward to next week’s video. Take care Ryan!

He's howling to the tools. Lol

Rustling the package Got my dog's attention.. Now i got to give them treats..😂👍🏻
Gods blessing on your journey.
Awesome dog bed Ryan 👍❤️
It's great to see you running. The chain saw again
Perfect. Thanks! Loved the traveling errand running intro. Puppy is a perfect addition. Sweet little boy.
Awesome dog bed. Keep the weekly updates flowing please.
Thanks for another great episode!
Great video, love your sense of humor,Kuiper is so darn cute
Nice howl woooooooo!!!
Another great episode! Your craftsmanship just keeps improving!
Good afternoon Ryan from Alabama ,
You can wait up to a year to the good to have him fixed . He's so cute almost sounds like a bear crying when he's doing that . I've had all boys in the last 25 years , I've loved them all .
Good luck many blessings .. 🙏🏻
Another great video Ryan 🐾❤️🐾👊🏻
Make a big pillow case for the dog bed with snaps to keep it on.😊
21:48 "You waved your arms like you were going to play with me and then you just ignored me. Why aren't you paying attention to me?"
have a Great Week Man! Thank You!
A beautiful dog .

Best of luck whatever you do.
Always love a little vignette about the AT! I hiked the AT in 2015, seems like yesterday. Always enjoy your channel...keep up the good work!

You have been using an Expansive Flat/Spade Drill Bit. Keep up the madness, you're doing great.
Hi Ryan, great to see another video from you.

I agree. I think the texture of the dog bed is the problem. A duvet cover or large pillow case type thing might make it more comfortable for him.
That material has never been acceptable to any of my dogs. A couple of layers of fluffiness is needed. Also most dogs like to have a big bolster pillow around the sides- gives them more positions to get into and makes them feel safe.
great job.............
Ryan, your creativeness is mind boogling. Love the video's, keep up the good work, as allways be safe. Peace🇺🇸
I'm so happy that your videos came through my feed. Im enjoying them soooooooo much!!!❤

kuiper sounds like big foot in the woods , I could not imagine hearing that noise in the middle of the night in the woods. lol
If you only learned Wookiee, you and Kuiper could have long conversations.
Keep us in suspense
Kuiper will have his own soundtrack!

@38:40 adjustable spade drill bit
I believe that's an adjustable spade bit. Could be wrong, though.
25:00 he said “I want one of them” when he heard you say it’s a fun tool 😅
The dog bed is lava. 😂😂
About your chainsaw not revving up try cleaning the sreen located in your muffler ie spark arrester. Remove it heat with propane torch flick away ash and reinstall.

Sometimes, with the right dog, they can be a great backup plan. If their two brain cells are concentrated on the dot they tend to forget about their silly fears in the moment.

It's Lava!!! He's playing (said Very loosely) the Lava Game.
Poor kiper, I feel for him. Yeah, hurry up and get him fixed when you can. LOL before he goes blind.😂😂
Irwin Adjustable Boring Bar.
Sit,stay, come & kennel (or enter). The last one is the most glaring need.
Sounds like you may be getting a Mini X.
Ringer🙋♂️
Maybe try a Doorknob w/lock on the inside dog door. Any idea when the 'kitchen' build comes back into play?
It's called a trepanning bit.
14:47 I swear he shook his head yes in response 🤣 I have an American building that will nod yes when asked questions sometimes. That or she will make an audible sound with the nod.
Hey Ryan, your weirdo drill bit is called an “expansion bit”. Love this project! 🙌🏼
And Kuiper’s howling…he’s just singing with Samsquanch…😂
Hello Ryan crazy funny Kuiper love the video 👍🥰💕❤️💖🇺🇸🙏
I was a intieor painter had a customer with the same dog same problem very productive it had the same protection reaction
Nice work. Your dog is spoiled just like mine.
Ryan, I’ve been following you for a couple of years and would love to see some of your AT hike. Do you have any videos from those days and if so a link?
I'm not a dog expert but that dog you have is a herding
dog he is always going to protect you no matter what that's why he won't be separated from you
Kuiper is NOT weird, he's intellegent! He can see you can close the inside door on him when he is in the doghouse and is affraid of that (being closed of from the love of his life.... YOU! 😊
Except he doesn't mind if the matress isn't in there or if his towel is on it. You don't make much sense.
Just a thought about indoor bed: maybe trick him over a few days by scooting bed 6 - 12 inches a day into dog house.
Okie dokie👍😎🇨🇦🐾
Maybe if you put that platform by door of doghouse, he will get in there easier. Use it as a step.
Just a curious question, why did you put the latch to the pass through door inside the dog house instead of in the cabin?
i asked the same thing in the last video! It seems to make more sense to be able to grant access from the INSIDE of the cabin.
