Can confirm, on PC just today there were 4 modders in the same lobby. All the modders I’ve encountered are super chill tho and let the entire lobby do commands or just boost around in some silly vehicle. Back in the 360 days I remember you’d see 1 modder all year.

I can't really say anything got worse things are a millions timer better now we are seeing the death of exclusives, if you grew up with N64, PS1 and PS2 as a PC gamer you came to expect not to play 60% of the cool new releases.

@@GamerScotty PS5, 4's and whatever else have less. By the time a year passes, another one comes out and you'll need to buy that one to play your games. Buying a PC works out cheaper because in the long run, all you'll need to change is a few components which you can even get second hand, plus with a pc, you can modify your files and you aren't limited. If you really want to play playstation games on a PC, just emulate them. Compared to a playstation, I got a decent PC and swapped over the GPU for under $700 -- And I won't need new components for YEARS. Having to buy consoles is just way too expensive and they suck hardware wise. You can't modify them at all.

I had a theory that Rockstar's hatred with PC players goes way back to the "Hot Coffee" incident with GTA San Andreas. Where their modding community ruined Rockstar's reputation to the point where TakeTwo had to step in before their own reputation gets crushed too. (by the press & politicians, of course) And it's all because of one line of code that someone enabled it for fun and shared it online. With this in mind, it means that Rockstar knows how to hold a grudge, a really _long_ one.
Honestly that's on rockstar being lazy to remove the code in first place. They should known people who are bored are going to look through the code to find stuff like that.

Because GTA V was such an amazing piece of work, I don’t mind paying it twice. They deserve it for pretty much the best gaming has to offer. It’s trendy to hate on Rockstar these days, but they have never made a bad game and have always pushed the gaming industry. Objectively there's no argument to not release it at the same time, they just want to squeeze all the money posible by first releasing it on console and then on PC. PC users who has both would just buy it con computer but if they do this they'll buy it twice. And that "optimisation" is pure bullshit, consoles are basically PCs nowadays, same architectures, so no, not buying that argument.
If I was Rockstar I would prioritize PC because playing FPS or 3rd Person games are shit on console because playing with a controller is shit and not fun but with a mouse and keyboard it's so much better. Fuck consoles, play on PC.
@SweetFlexZ, Idk what their "reasoning" is but I don't see why they wouldn't release it on PC (at some point), the other GTA games are on PC, even RDR & others. I also agree, "optimization" isn't a valid argument against it because as you said, consoles are practically "PC's". I read an article of someone suggesting "It's easier to optimize for a couple of diff consoles than a billion diff computers".... They don't have to "optimize" the game for every freaking computer configuration. No game developer does, this is why they list "minimum/recommended requirements." No game developer asks "every PC owner - what are your computer specs so we can make sure the game works on it?"🙄 I wouldn't say R* has abandoned PC gamers either when it comes to GTA 6 because even GTA 5 they continue to release updates, some patches/fixes etc., even tho there's a lot they haven't fixed. R* also supports "role play" fans, they negotiated a deal to buy the FiveM/RedM servers. TakeTwo did step in at one point and try to end OIV and at one point it's site was taken down but it's been back up and running that last few yrs where GTA modding on PC is very popular. What I think R* should do is allow for separate installations of the game so you can maintain "a modded copy for offline play" and a "vanilla copy for online play." The way it is now you have to jump through hoops to maintain separate copies because Steam auto-updates etc.
Maybe it's to boost console sales, wouldn't surprise me if there was an underhand deal with Sony/Microsoft to artificially delay the PC version, because everyone wants to play GTA VI
Fitgirl is not a cracker. It's Empress who cracked RDR2 and it took her nearly 2 years to do so. Now that she is no longer cracking games, expect GTA VI to take more than 3+ years to get cracked, until and unless a new cracker comes to the scene.
They hate PC Gamers, not because of piracy, or because they need to polish the game more, but simply because PC Gamers are not easily scammed for money when it comes to the shark cards and micro-transactions. Console gamers are already paying bunch of money just to be able to play online, so they are easier to part with more money. Realistically, 2-3 months after the consoles would be fair, but more than enough to polish the game properly. BUT the funniest thing out there is, that actually Sony, will be releasing their "Exclusive" games to PC faster than R* does, their plan for the future is to release them in-between 6-12 months after PS release.
I'm a smarter console gamer. I don't really play any games with microtransactions anyway. So I've just been reaping the full benefits of Rockstar without ever buying shark cards and gold bars. I feel like it's almost a more fun experience to earn money or gold bars yourself rather than just buying it.
Since the poor GTA 4 pc optimization, they basically have PTSD about porting their game. As it was the same engine, they did not bothered do porting for RDR 1 as they knew only a few people would have a decent rig to run it only in 30-40 fps ( while you had a solid console for cheap ). But now that you can have good PC for cheaper and that the consoles worth more it's pointless to do this as they also learned how to optimize their engine. I think that new heads are needed at R*.

But hardware needed for GTA IV required top notch rig while other games would require a lot less power. It was wayyyy more expensive to run just GTA IV than a console at that range, so not worthy to upgrade for that specific game only.

I dont like calling cheaters in Online "modders" or a "modding problem". It needlessly stains the modding scene which is what gave us FiveM and other fun content and fixes for all games in the franchise. They are cheaters/hacking scrip kiddies, not modders. Modders are creators of mods as in community made content. I implore you to try and avoid calling the cheaters that and trying to name they as what they are instead of reinforcing this wildly wrong naming we have as left over of PS3/X360 era GTA online where it came from modifying the console to install cheats.
funny that people say its to optimize the game to work on almost every pc hardware, yet in the 2022 leaks theyre using amd ryzen processors and gtx / rtx nvidia graphic cards, and they used different types of products from the same brands, so rockstar are already doing a pc version of it but they want to sell it later on to make bank on the double dippers. hopefully the wait will be shorter this time instead of making people wait a very long time to give rockstar their money.
Having very early prototype/alpha stuff running on PC is extremely common. After all PC's are used in game development regardless if it's releasing on PC at some point or is going to be a console exclusive forever. But I get what you mean. It's not like Rockstar hasn't shipped a game same day for PC and console on their RAGE engine (Max Payne 3).
They just don't want to prioritize it I understand that, is it a sad? A little, for sure, but the launch of this game will be something huge in gaming world
As a PC player I don't blame them. Gta online is just hell in public sessions, at least one hacker (sometimes they are nice though, met a pretty chill one and he spawned in a ton of money for me lol) in every session and most will just teleport you and blow you up. The game is just unplayable in public lobbies, I always ALWAYS play in invite only lobbies.
@@pravnav Like I said, it's because of the bad framework Rockstar chose out of laziness and unwillingness to spend a small portion of the billions they earn on a secure dedicated server and proper anti-cheat. The game uses a P2P framework, which while fine for smaller lobby games like L4D2, Payday 2, is a disaster for MMOs. It's very easy to hack P2P stuff and get IP, details etc. of other people because you're directly connected to other people.
@@pravnav With a dedicated server, people are universally connected to a centralized server which can be encrypted and secured, unlike people's local machines, and anti-cheat can be run server side to detect cheating, threats and intrusions.
Dose GTA V have any decent anti cheat (never got into the online stuff)? From what I understand if you get flagged for cheating you aren't told but will get matched with other cheaters every game. It dosen't fix the problem 100% of course but hopefully Rockstar uses some decent anti-cheat for VI.

Essentially it comes down to 2 things: 1. Developing for consoles is much easier to optimize for compared to PC for various reasons, allowing them to release the game sooner. 2. They know people will buy the game again when the PC version drops. They entice people by sprinkling on some advanced visual settings that make the game look a bit better, essentially and uncompromised version.
Piracy is both a pricing issue and a service issue, however from my experience, it's mainly been a pricing issue. Never once have I ever pirated a game because it wasn't available, they all have been available, I just lacked the money to buy it, or the game was fun but wasn't worth the price tag put onto it. Examples include Pokemon Violet ($150 usd for game and it's DLCs) and TOTK ($70 usd). However, with that being said, GTA 6 will be the first ever game which I will pirate due to a service issue, as I REFUSE to play on a console. It's a shame people have to resort to piracy for things like this, but if your game costs more than $60 or isn't available to be purchased on my platform of choice, then sucks to suck but I'm just gonna "borrow" your game files and play it for free.

I had been broke till I have no money left cuz of buying games for almost 25 dolars(when converted) which is considered expensive in my country for my dorm life. 92 dollars is for a whole month for my College and dorm living. Therefore I refund back most games i bought I haven't been in piracy for long time in PC cuz im too lazy to set up torrent stuff, unless in Android with apks/obb

Rockstar delays their releases especially nowadays because they want to double dip and have rich PC gamers buy the game twice, plus hacking and modding is way more of a problem and hurts their bottom line in the online mod of PC.
90% of my objections to playing on a console is because the game doesn't come with mouse and keyboard support... give me M+KB support and I'll shut up about a console exclusive launch for however many years it takes.
They don't want you to do what you want with your game. Typical AAA developer. Probably won't be able to buy houses or apartments that you want. Probably won't be able to go into half the buildings in the game. But please give me a massive map with nothing to do but linear missions.

It's all about money. They want you to buy the game on the console first, then the second time on PC. They throw in some selling points like "enhancements" that don't enhance anything and convince you to buy it again, so C* gets double profit.

They released GTA IV for PC 6-7 months after the console release. I actually believe they planned to release them at the same time but obviously IV has it's optimization issues. Not only on PC but on consoles as well.

Do those have graphical features not on PC? I thought they were just the same game running with higher graphics settings than the previous gen versions. Edit: Just watched a comparison video. I can barely tell any difference, despite Rockstar claiming it has RT and what not. Just looks like the PC version with the settings turned up to me.

To me cheating is the same as pirating game, just offer better services and you will not get cheating anymore ! If the game was not attrociously pay to win with an anti cheat with more than 2 lines of codes we would probably don't see that much cheaters. I mean I played years with mods menus, I started developping my own mods after 2 years on GTA 5 PC, and yeah GTA 5 PC anti cheat is literally close to NOTHING, the only stuff he detects is money exploits ! (and still to this day, not every money methods are detected by the AC)! I saw GTA Online becoming more and more garbage over the years (releasing flying bikes etc...) so yeah R* deserve this game to be what it is today, they made poor decision, they didn't added what the community wanted for GTA Online. Me and my friends cheated for years and we all started because GTA Online was boring. And yeah you would probably say: "If you find the game boring why don't you quit ?" Because we all like the game, GTA 5 is a really nice game, but the Online was just poorly made and not what we wanted, and also because there is no competition, Saints Row ? dead ! Mafia ? No online ! Sleeping dogs ? No online + dead ! And FiveM... I mean it's great, but community servers are mainly focused on RP gamemodes, there is little to no Online freeroam/activities servers. If in 2024 you don’t know how to use windows and install software then i can’t help you. Setting up a prebuilt PC is not hard whatsoever, honestly very similar to setting up a console. It’s SO easy.

Releasing game on consoles has one big advantage - no need to care about hardware variety and - if all bugs are rectified - guarantees successful release with little to no negative reviews relating to performance and bugs. And anti-cheat... the best anti-cheat is just server. GTA V has relays, not servers. Servers don't share IPs between clients, don't allow to cheat in critical parts of the game (in this case would be protecting GTA-$).

Buying a PC works out cheaper because in the long run, all you'll need to change is a few components which you can even get second hand, plus with a pc, you can modify your files and you aren't limited. If you really want to play playstation games on a PC, just emulate them. Compared to a playstation, I got a decent PC and swapped over the GPU for under $700 -- And I won't need new components for YEARS. Having to buy consoles is just way too expensive and they suck hardware wise. You can't modify them at all.

I had a theory that Rockstar's hatred with PC players goes way back to the "Hot Coffee" incident with GTA San Andreas. Where their modding community ruined Rockstar's reputation to the point where TakeTwo had to step in before their own reputation gets crushed too. (by the press & politicians, of course)
And it's all because of one line of code that someone enabled it for fun and shared it online.
With this in mind, it means that Rockstar knows how to hold a grudge, a really _long_ one.

I also agree, "optimization" isn't a valid argument against it because as you said, consoles are practically "PC's". I read an article of someone suggesting "It's easier to optimize for a couple of diff consoles than a billion diff computers".... They don't have to "optimize" the game for every freaking computer configuration. No game developer does, this is why they list "minimum/recommended requirements." No game developer asks "every PC owner - what are your computer specs so we can make sure the game works on it?"🙄 I wouldn't say R* has abandoned PC gamers either when it comes to GTA 6 because even GTA 5 they continue to release updates, some patches/fixes etc., even tho there's a lot they haven't fixed. R* also supports "role play" fans, they negotiated a deal to buy the FiveM/RedM servers. TakeTwo did step in at one point and try to end OIV and at one point it's site was taken down but it's been back up and running that last few yrs where GTA modding on PC is very popular. What I think R* should do is allow for separate installations of the game so you can maintain "a modded copy for offline play" and a "vanilla copy for online play." The way it is now you have to jump through hoops to maintain separate copies because Steam auto-updates etc.

They hate PC Gamers, not because of piracy, or because they need to polish the game more,
but simply because PC Gamers are not easily scammed for money when it comes to the shark cards and micro-transactions.
Console gamers are already paying bunch of money just to be able to play online, so they are easier to part with more money.
Realistically, 2-3 months after the consoles would be fair, but more than enough to polish the game properly.
BUT the funniest thing out there is, that actually Sony, will be releasing their "Exclusive" games to PC faster than R* does, their plan for the future is to release them in-between 6-12 months after PS release.
I'm a smarter console gamer. I don't really play any games with microtransactions anyway. So I've just been reaping the full benefits of Rockstar without ever buying shark cards and gold bars. I feel like it's almost a more fun experience to earn money or gold bars yourself rather than just buying it.

Since the poor GTA 4 pc optimization, they basically have PTSD about porting their game. As it was the same engine, they did not bothered do porting for RDR 1 as they knew only a few people would have a decent rig to run it only in 30-40 fps ( while you had a solid console for cheap ).
But now that you can have good PC for cheaper and that the consoles worth more it's pointless to do this as they also learned how to optimize their engine.
I think that new heads are needed at R*.

One thing that is has biggest issue is they'll demand through Rockstar Launcher to have latest Windows software (which happened recently not able to run on W7 and 8) after like 5-9 years of game release.
I dont like calling cheaters in Online "modders" or a "modding problem". It needlessly stains the modding scene which is what gave us FiveM and other fun content and fixes for all games in the franchise. They are cheaters/hacking scrip kiddies, not modders. Modders are creators of mods as in community made content.
I implore you to try and avoid calling the cheaters that and trying to name they as what they are instead of reinforcing this wildly wrong naming we have as left over of PS3/X360 era GTA online where it came from modifying the console to install cheats.
funny that people say its to optimize the game to work on almost every pc hardware, yet in the 2022 leaks theyre using amd ryzen processors and gtx / rtx nvidia graphic cards, and they used different types of products from the same brands, so rockstar are already doing a pc version of it but they want to sell it later on to make bank on the double dippers. hopefully the wait will be shorter this time instead of making people wait a very long time to give rockstar their money.
Having very early prototype/alpha stuff running on PC is extremely common. After all PC's are used in game development regardless if it's releasing on PC at some point or is going to be a console exclusive forever. But I get what you mean. It's not like Rockstar hasn't shipped a game same day for PC and console on their RAGE engine (Max Payne 3).

As a PC player I don't blame them. Gta online is just hell in public sessions, at least one hacker (sometimes they are nice though, met a pretty chill one and he spawned in a ton of money for me lol) in every session and most will just teleport you and blow you up. The game is just unplayable in public lobbies, I always ALWAYS play in invite only lobbies.
Hackers are a result of Rockstar's own neglect and barebones online P2P framework. Weird to blame us for their own incompetence, laziness and misery.

The game uses a P2P framework, which while fine for smaller lobby games like L4D2, Payday 2, is a disaster for MMOs. It's very easy to hack P2P stuff and get IP, details etc. of other people because you're directly connected to other people.
@@pravnav With a dedicated server, people are universally connected to a centralized server which can be encrypted and secured, unlike people's local machines, and anti-cheat can be run server side to detect cheating, threats and intrusions.
Dose GTA V have any decent anti cheat (never got into the online stuff)? From what I understand if you get flagged for cheating you aren't told but will get matched with other cheaters every game. It dosen't fix the problem 100% of course but hopefully Rockstar uses some decent anti-cheat for VI.

Essentially it comes down to 2 things:
1. Developing for consoles is much easier to optimize for compared to PC for various reasons, allowing them to release the game sooner.
2. They know people will buy the game again when the PC version drops. They entice people by sprinkling on some advanced visual settings that make the game look a bit better, essentially and uncompromised version.
Piracy is both a pricing issue and a service issue, however from my experience, it's mainly been a pricing issue. Never once have I ever pirated a game because it wasn't available, they all have been available, I just lacked the money to buy it, or the game was fun but wasn't worth the price tag put onto it. Examples include Pokemon Violet ($150 usd for game and it's DLCs) and TOTK ($70 usd). However, with that being said, GTA 6 will be the first ever game which I will pirate due to a service issue, as I REFUSE to play on a console. It's a shame people have to resort to piracy for things like this, but if your game costs more than $60 or isn't available to be purchased on my platform of choice, then sucks to suck but I'm just gonna "borrow" your game files and play it for free.
Or older games. I pirated RDR2 because of a service issue. The issue being that they completely abandoned the online so there's really no purpose to playing online anyway. So you might as well just pirate the game lmao

When I tried to play the copy of gta 4 I purchased in 2011 on steam and was locked out by the rockstar launcher, I became a rockstar pirate for life.
And it's great. No online checks, no save fuss. It just works.

Do those have graphical features not on PC? I thought they were just the same game running with higher graphics settings than the previous gen versions.
Edit: Just watched a comparison video. I can barely tell any difference, despite Rockstar claiming it has RT and what not. Just looks like the PC version with the settings turned up to me.
The longer they take to release the game on PC, the longer it takes for them to have my money. I will never revert to buying a console just to play a specific game. I left console platforms after PS2 for PC, not going back sorry, not sorry.

@@tacticalmattress Yep, I'm gonna be honest, I'm an ex-cheater on GTA O PC (nowadays I stopped playing this game for a while) the main reason I got involved in cheating was because the game was attrociously boring without any money, and back in 2015, it literally was taking ages to make just little bit of money, the game was pure farming and pay to win, so mod menu was the way to go if you wanted to have some funs in this game !
To me cheating is the same as pirating game, just offer better services and you will not get cheating anymore ! If the game was not attrociously pay to win with an anti cheat with more than 2 lines of codes we would probably don't see that much cheaters.
I mean I played years with mods menus, I started developping my own mods after 2 years on GTA 5 PC, and yeah GTA 5 PC anti cheat is literally close to NOTHING, the only stuff he detects is money exploits ! (and still to this day, not every money methods are detected by the AC)!
I saw GTA Online becoming more and more garbage over the years (releasing flying bikes etc...) so yeah R* deserve this game to be what it is today, they made poor decision, they didn't added what the community wanted for GTA Online.
Me and my friends cheated for years and we all started because GTA Online was boring. And yeah you would probably say: "If you find the game boring why don't you quit ?"
Because we all like the game, GTA 5 is a really nice game, but the Online was just poorly made and not what we wanted, and also because there is no competition, Saints Row ? dead ! Mafia ? No online ! Sleeping dogs ? No online + dead !
And FiveM... I mean it's great, but community servers are mainly focused on RP gamemodes, there is little to no Online freeroam/activities servers. Mega games is pretty cool but quickly became repetitive !

You forgot the part where ALL 3D-era GTA games were delayed on PCs, releasing the following year on Xbox and PC after releasing first on PS2, which was the most popular platform at the time.
Honestly, as much as I prefer playing (ahem, excuse me... almost exclusively play) on PC, I wouldn't mind waiting an extra year or two if it means they can make the game well by focusing on specific platforms first, then releasing on PCs.

The fact I have all 4 versions of GTA 5, have 3 versions of GTA SA and 2 versions of GTA 4 shows how good their strategy actually is. You'd think that nobody would buy a game multiple times yet it happens often enough!

Releasing game on consoles has one big advantage - no need to care about hardware variety and - if all bugs are rectified - guarantees successful release with little to no negative reviews relating to performance and bugs.
And anti-cheat... the best anti-cheat is just server. GTA V has relays, not servers. Servers don't share IPs between clients, don't allow to cheat in critical parts of the game (in this case would be protecting GTA-$).
