but what about the defendant ? saying he is still learning about the business end of being self employed but he sure took care of business end getting that 400 up front , i would say he has the buisiness part down but not the part where he actually has to do the plumbing work . all these type guys are born experts when it comes to getting that deposit money .

half these cases on this show are people suing for more than they are actually out but the judge does not come down on them nearly as hard as she came down on this plaintiff . they guy tried to rip her off and the judge basically complains that the plaintiff had to win . the judge really personally did not like the plaintiff for some reason .
I feel like the judge could have dismissed her case for lying, she didn't deserve any money for lying!
There was evidence outside of her perjured testimony, so I agree with the judge that the right thing is to follow the evidence even if she's untrustworthy because he doesn't deserve a freebie when he's lying about showing up three times.
She's rolling her eyes, but she didn't get a decent receipt. So she obviously needs to listen.
Looked at the title and thought my childhood dyslexia had returned. Scared the hell outta me.

Right from the start, the plaintiff presents a handwritten receipt, revealing a discrepancy between the $300.00 written and the $400.00 allegedly paid. The defendant does admit to the $400.00, though. It's astonishing how some business owners overlook basic practices that could save them from legal troubles or strengthen their case. It's plausible that the defendant could have handled the plaintiff's plumbing directly, even if for a different price. Presenting $400.00 to the BBB instead of the claimed $700.00 for an $800.00 job does raise suspicions. Finding the receipt post-BBB complaint does raise questions; it seems she may have become upset and just found a receipt, likely from work done on a different property by the same defendant. The absence of an address and date on the receipt adds to the suspicion that she hoped to slide it past the judge. Looks like Judge Milian's 'hangry' for justice today! Even with litigants spinning bigger tales, she usually keeps her cool. Must be a rough day in the courtroom! This courtroom drama is definitely captivating.

I've watched cases where Judge Milian has caught someone in a bold-faced lie and she has told them that that was going to cost them and then taken money off of their award so I'm not sure why she didn't do the same to the plaintiff?

I loved how the plaintiff rolled her eyes once Milian started off with the chastising shit. The way Milian treated her throughout this case speaks to why I am the way I am towards her. She's a disrespectful person in general, particularly towards blacks. The way she treated the plaintiff was reprehensible.
