I was deadly sick for 2 months and Judas Priest is what got me through it. This song, full blast, at 4 AM refusing to die, fist in the air. I owe Judas Priest my life. Wish they knew what they did for me.

I've said this to multiple people, but vocalists are the best at 30 - 40ish years old, when they've mastered their expression but they haven't lost their voice yet. Look at Bruce Dickinson in Brave New World (eg. "Thin Line Between Love and Hate") and Rock in Rio 2001, or James Hetfield in the Load/ReLoad era (eg. "Bleeding Me"), Dave Mustaine in Youthanasia, and of course Rob here.

Bruce Dickinson was at his best on Number Of The Beast and Piece Of Mind. And Dave Mustaine and James Hetfield were in their early 30's on the Youthanasia and Load/Reload records, not close to 40.
He was actually 38 or 39 when he recorded this. He was born 8-25-1951, and this was released 9-3-1990.
For me this is by far the greatest heavy metal album of all time.

This album and Megadeths Rust in Peace are my 2 favorite metal albums. (both 1990 albums). Definitely something special about that year.

I think the lyrics are actually ‘Courage earns Victory’ ‘Remember, Remember’ listen closely. If it’s not officially these lyrics, I hear them. I think it sounds better this way :-)

Painkiller is just one of those few absolutely flawless metal gems. Throughout the years I've favored pretty much every track on it at some point. For the past few years this has been my fave on the album. Priest and Sabbath are just the greatest to me.

AT GLORY!
Immense piece, which in my opinion is one of the greatest on the album that I still listen to with a lot of energy mixed with nostalgia. How can I not remember that legendary concert in '91 on the Painkiller tour, where in the front row I was screaming with joy and amazement! I still keep that note pinned to the wall as a relic and I have admired it all my life. Stunning 80s and fantastic my Judas Priest, forever immersed in my most indelible emotions! 🖤🤘🔥

No one was expecting such a masterpiece in the 90s. Let's face it, many metal bands at that time made superb things, but man, this album is totally different even for JP standards which were classified as a hard rock band. No album had such speed, such anger, such talent.

3rd top of Judas for me, after Nightcrawler being 1st, Painkiller+All guns blazing+Jawbreaker 2nd. my gosh the song is so complex, every part of it is blood and adrenaline pumping, in its own way, unique and yet sinergizing, especialy till the end, the last verse, with all instrumental parts mixing into the AVALANCHE of awesomeness, i can't even imagine the hype and moshpiting when this played live, i am still hoping for it to happen. and also if i were the musicians to perform this, oh i would just play like this is the last day of the fucking universe, ONE SHOT AT GLORY, ONLY ONE, at the end of the days...
