In 2019 a fee was slapped on homeowners that discouraged home generation preferring replacement at a grid level. By the way, 70% of electric generation in Brazil is by Hydoprower already. Brazil does include a majority of the Amazon's floodplain. This house has very little electric demand with many manual features, a small footprint, and breeze-catching windows. plus it is close to Rio where hydropower is the main generation source. I don't think huge solar panels are going to benefit this stunning architecture. The house is already off fossil fuel. What more could you want?

It also incorporates the Brazilian wood and traditional style of design. I would love the opportunity to live in this home and build a home similar to this one surrounded by forest trees.

I want to build the retreat house on my 7 acres of land so I can continue to live a monastic lifestyle after raising four kids and experiencing trauma. These homes have just the material and feeling I've been looking for.
Like the Brazil house best as my wife & I are not into big but neither are we into tiny house. For Brazil's climate, the house was great. For the upper Midwestern USA; it would be a no go. One problem I have with all the houses. The uncolored & untextured concrete coupled with an almost empty or clean interior coupled with lots of large windows gives me the "You live in the mall or commercial building feeling". The feeling is a lack of privacy and that house may not be a practical place to actually live in. It makes for a great show place but ......
