- The Nike Zoom Freak 2 arrives just in time for play in the bubble!! The initial colorway has been dubbed Naija and man oh man these things don’t mess around!! Let’s break down the tech specs in the shoe, the differences between the Freak 1’s and 2’s and talk how they’ll hold up on court versus some other options on shelves rights now. And of course, let’s break down that polarizing colorway guys!! Let’s get into it!!

Hey man, this time I have to start with those fantastic socks: I grew up watching Michelangelo, Leonardo, Donatello and Raffaello, probably my favorite cartoon ever! 🐢🐢🐢🐢 I was waiting for this review since I saw your post on Instagram, that's the best sock combo Cody! Talking about the shoe, I like this new Zoom Freak and the green colorway as well. In my opinion Nike did a great job with Freak 1, so I'm so curious to see what they got for us with future colorways. Thanks as always fam, another great review!
Andre The Flash ayyyyyeeee thanks dude!! I copped the socks a WHILEEEE ago and kept waiting for the perfect shoe to rock them. About 3 weeks ago I pulled out my DS 2006 Green Bean 5’s and rocked them with the socks!! End of the day the midsoles were showing the notorious signs of cracking. I meant to take some pictures but it was dark by the time I got home and had the ability to shoot. But this Naija colorway was the perfect chance to pull these out for the camera.
I’m right there too bro, I grew up watching the Turtles cartoons and Movies religiously, I had most the games on original Nintendo. I had Turtle pajamas. I somewhat recently watched that Netflix special called The Toys We Grew Up On or something like that, or at least I watched the episode about the Turtles and I was amazed at how the Toy Line really dictated the character development and the movies and show and really everything!! They made the show and movies to sell the toys, not vice versa lol. But still, loved Being A Turtle!!
Now the kicks, man I friggin love these!! Everyone is sorta taking shots at the upper and the overall look of the shoe. But I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that I actually like the look of these more than the 1’s honestly. The reverse Swoosh on the 1 was fire but I wasn’t soooo in love with it that I felt like it needed to be a design staple for the Freak line itself. I also felt like the paneling and materials on the 1's sorta limited the options with what they could do with the colorways. That upper didn’t lend itself to many design options. Other than coloring the mesh, and then maybe contrasting it with a different color under that mesh, you would almost have to go with a different material on the upper to throw a designed pattern on the shoe’s upper. Idk I liked them, I just like these more. For me, these sorta feel like the next step of the Nike Kobe Signature line in it’s heyday

These are head turners they're so uniquely different crazy colors a crazy futuristic design they're pretty dope the Freak 3 is looking nice too💯
Great in-depth review. My basketball playing days are over, but something like this seems like something that would be great to play in.
I was slick thinking about getting these & after watching your video/review I’m definitely leaning towards getting them . And the socks you wore with these in this video was 🔥🔥🔥.
The Zoom Freak 1s were my favorite basketball shoe this past season, I definitely NEED NEED THESE🔥🔥 love this dope colorway too!!
The number of layers in this shoe is ridiculous! You’re absolutely right green is not a color often used in sneakers but it definitely should be and seems as though more sneaker companies are starting to see that as well. I love all the different colors of green used in this sneaker as well. All around well executed design and yes the zoom air tech is very comfortable. I’ve worn my youngest sons pair to the car a couple times but their a size and half to small 🤣🤣🤣🤣

When these new silhouettes drop, I get super geeked to read about the ideas and inspirations behind not only the colorways and names but the shoe tech and the design inspirations that were implemented in the execution of the new model. What did they choose to leave out, what did they choose to keep, and what did they choose to build upon and adjust. Sometimes it’s hard to find all that info and there’s still some stuff that I’d love to know about the shoe, like the foam used in the heel portion. And you’re sooo right about green! My favorite color my whole life, so I’ve always rocked with and gravitated towards green kicks and shirts lol. Thanks for the input fam 🙏🙏

First Freak 1 are much nicer design. To bad that swoosh didnt stay like first model. It could be his signature sign in future.
Mister No idk man I hear a lot of people saying that but I actually think these shoes are dope as hell. They have that real sexy almost runner shape to the shoe, moving the Zoom Air to the forefoot of the shoe almost makes me wanna roll my eyes at the 1’s lol, the foam cushioning in the heel I have to say I love!! I think the decoupled aspect of the midsole is intriguing and I love the way the shoe shifts when you land , even how that looks. The Freak 1’s were dope, but the 2’s to me are a shoe that I feel like a serious hooper can take serious and they truly compete with the other options Nike has on shelves. I’m a fan 😎😎

Bigtymer33721 probably snagging those tomorrow. I like them too but the green on these, especially the more lime green-ish hits, do it for me. I think I’m slightly jaded from the Kyrie line always releasing that black and white colorway first or second in their signature line too. Appreciate the comment bro
Dope review as always, Not feelin the silhouette on this one and the huge 34 on the medial side is not that appealing 4 casual wear.
RonG Streetkicks I like the silhouette. I think the shape reminds me of a middle ground between a Nike Kobe in it’s heyday and most runners lol. I do hear you on the 34 comment. I’ll think about that more on future reviews broski. Everyone trying to be the 23 lol but yeah 34 just isn’t as sleek as that 23 lol
