KG Kush It all depends on how you spend your time in that country. It is actually quite easy (Especially with Bales resources I would imagine) to spend the whole time still communicating entirely in English despite living in a foreign country.

You notice Modric in particular, who you imagine is thinking like a chess player a lot of the time he's playing football, speaks astonishingly fluent Spanish. I'd guess he's very clever. I'd imagine he can manage in English at least as well. Would not surprise me to learn he knows at least one other language besides his mother tongue too. Figo was another one. Speaks 5 languages genuinely fluently(possibly 6), including astonishingly good English despite never playing in an English speaking country
