All these people coming out should ask themselves that questions"Would I marry someone of the same sex?"

    One problem with modern Science is that only certain conclusions are considered acceptable by most. For example, a recent study showed that pregnant women who keep working into their 9th month experience a higher incidence of low birth-weight than women who smoke during pregnancy. But this study will likely be ridiculed or ignored by most because too many people today are afraid to challenge a woman's "right" to work as long as she wishes, knowing that there will be a strong backlash.

    Do you call people that believe the world is round to be simply irrational as well?
    I used Zach Wahls as a clear example of the rule. Unless you have a plethora of studies that shows children raised by lesbians or gays somehow end up worse than those raised by heteros, then it's clear you're opinion is based on feelings and ideology vs reason.

    Tax benefits for one group reduce government revenue, which does affect all of us. You either haven't thought about the ramifications or are just being disingenuous. The demand for legal marriage is essentially a demand for public acceptance & encouragement of homosexual relationships. One of the ramifications I most object to is that it will require homosexual couples to have equal priority with otherwise equally-qualified heterosexual couples in adoptions. I'm sorry but this is insanity!

    I didn't say Christianity itself was intolerant. i actually said the opposite. The problem is people who believe and follow a particular interpretation of Christian scripture. Don't lump all Muslims in with homophobes. Yes, there is a large portion of Mulims (people) like Christians (people) who share this bigottry against homosexualty. But Islam also shares the list with evolution, science, and homosexuality as misunderstood targets of socio-political agendas particularly in the US.

    Of course anyone can still eat at Chick-fil-A if they choose. No one has said otherwise, and if you had done some reading, you would actually understand the argument. That is: Chick-fil-A has donated five million dollars since 2003 to groups that openly oppose the rights of gay people. This is a fact admitted by Mr. Cathy. Chick-fil-A can donate whatever they want, to whomever they want. That doesn't mean that we must support their bigotry with our business. Capitalism 101.

Chick-fil-A can open up in Boston if they meet the standards any other fast food place has to meet in that city. However, the MAJORITY of people boycotting Chick-Fil-A are making a free market choice.
    And legalizing gay marriage, will have tax ramifications for gay married couples. It won't effect you at all.

    Again, please understand: as a private company, Chick-fil-A is free to do whatever they want, with their money included. Not a single person has said they cannot. No one. However, that doesn't protect them from criticism in any way whatsoever. By involving themselves, Chick-fil-A invited response from those who disagree. Accordingly, it is only right that they receive scorn and lose business. This is how capitalism operates.

  • @shalcall
    @shalcall 12 лет назад

    Oh, so when it comes to homosexuals, all of a sudden tax cuts hurt the economy? Unfortunately for your argument, married people tend to make more money than single people (there's even a famous study comparing married and single baseball player, where married ones make 15-20% more). I think the increased income, and therefore increased taxes from marriage more than offset any tax benefit from marriage.
    And homosexual couple have not been shown to be any worse than heteros when raising kids.

  • @cda76er
    @cda76er 12 лет назад

    You are wrong on both counts. There's a huge difference between not patronizing a company because u don't like what they stand for & trying to block their ability to do business altogether, which is what the mayor of Boston & many pro-LGBT activists want to do. The first is a free market choice. The 2nd is an attempt to shut a company out of the market. And legalizing homosexual marriage will have many ramifications for all of us (like school curricula, employer restrictions & tax benefits).

    And, the mere suggestion that there may be intelligent forces behind what we observe in nature automatically disqualifies any research, no matter how methodologically sound, according to most Science organizations today. This is politics pure and simple because the concept is just as valid a hypothesis to explore scientifically as the belief that there are no such forces. Indeed, it was the fundamental assumption of virtually all Science until the Darwinian Deception took over.

  • @shalcall
    @shalcall 12 лет назад +2

    Again, you're basing your thinking on your "feelings." There have been a plethora of studies showing that children of homosexual couples are no better or worse off than those of straight couples. Go google the Zach Wahls, the Eagle Scout who gave a passionate speech about being raised by two mothers.
    Just because you "feel" a certain way about something does not mean that's the way the world actually works.
