I saw an interview about how Japanese music stores in the area have had their sales of instruments go up massively after this, and how people have been asking for the same models as Kessoku band. Also, they released physical albums that sold out and it turns out the reason the amps have Marshall branding that is accurate (when Monster is Moffster, etc) is that Marshall actually paid in to this anime to sponsor it because they knew it'd take off and net them sales. Kinda crazy. Edit: Also, apparently the main cast are 17, older sister is between 28-34 (I don't remember exactly).

Yes, they haven't figure out Hitori = Guitarhero. Because Guitarhero told the story how she always busy with either friend or boyfriend. The impression given is Guitarhero is someone that is confident, full of energy, outgoing, and had a lot of friends. Hitori Gotoh is completely the opposite. Even her skill didn't match Guitarhero due of her anxiety.

It is very likely the animators rotoscoped the live performances - which basically means they filmed real people playing these songs first and then traced what they filmed. It helps explain why some of the animation is more on point than what you would expect from, well, animation.
Rotoscope has probably been used, but they did add on top of the rotoscope: they have some interesting in-between work that wouldn't be there if they just mindlessly drew on the footage. It makes the movement look smoother in animation
Worth to mention: the flowers at the beginning of ep. 5 are poisonous and regarded as related to death and curse in JP culture - 4 piles of flower of death in a same area, with 1 darkest and another darker than the rest 2 (Bocchi & Ryo?), four "doomed" girls to be shown ahead.
