Colleges like SSN founded by an industrialist (Dr. Shiv Nadar, founder of HCL) had noble motive for helping poor students. They were silently helping several students and then later VIT and SRM copied that model of adopting district stateboard +2 toppers and giving them complete free accomodatino and education for 4 years.

@@rahulreddy2399 you are measuring by whether patti thotti knows name of the college. I'm measuring by quality. SSN and CEG fills up within first half of counselling. Now I think SSN have become university. VIT is heavily polarized - people who couldn't go to IIT, chose NIT and BITs, people who couldn't go to NITs and BITs might choose VIT. That's one pole. Other pole is just show off rich people who dump money to get a degree. You can't expect quality in such env. whereas in SSN - 50% of management seats are not filled by getting capitation fees. They conduct interviews and give seat based on merit. Check it out.
@@LetsBeHuman first of all there's literally no place for capitation feee in VIT. students are admitted only on the basis of their ranks secured in the entrance exam conducted by our own university. if u didn't crack the exam thn you're definitely not getting a seat no matter how much money u got the management don't give a shit. talking abt money the academics, lavish hostel, splendid campus is worth more than what I've paid. it's just funny that you're comparing the quality of a leading university to a local college in chennai. I mean we are even ahead of some tailender IITs and NITs in the rankings.

In 2020, Sathyabhama management said, if their final years students can get new first year students to join they get paid like 20000 rupees commission. There were gang wars because of that.

Stop portraying these kids of education mafia as successful education reformers. Everyone knows SSNCE is better when it comes to handling students and providing quality education in private college. IN govt, it is CEG, PSG(autonomous), and only few other handful colleges in Tamil nadu.
Of course, there are bright students in every college. But not every college could mould every student properly.

In 2009 and 2010 when recession hit, VIT spent crores to TCS HR department just to make sure their students get placed. But they never received offer letters.
