Best DIY Laparoscopic Training Box - Cheap and Simple

Hi everyone!
Laparoscopic trainers can be very expensive, but you can make one at home to save money and practice more conveniently. Without the intracorporeal suturing elements (needle driver, maryland, suture pad), this box can cost you around $150. The clear box also allows you to see what you are doing before moving on to exclusively using the camera. The several holes can change the angles of the graspers for more realistic (more difficult) views.
One downside is that you can't practice moving the camera, but this isn't the focus of most training boxes.

This is genius!
In real life it would be a camera with a 30 degrees optics (as far as I know from thoracic surgery), wouldn‘t it? (as far as I can see your camera is in the same axis as the instruments = 0 degrees; or am I wrong?)
In case, is this a problem for you when you train differently? Greetings from a med student from Germany! :)

good question! I don't think it matters much when practicing with this box. I think the 30 degree camera adds complexity to driving the camera, but the fidelity you get from becoming proficient with this box will be good enough for more practice in vivo
