I first visited when I was eight or nine, and have been back a few times since (living in Nottingham, Lincoln is quite a nice day trip) I don’t remember ever getting to see the prison cells.. I’m going to have to go back again when travel is possible, but experiencing the prison chapel has certainly stuck with me, and I’m really not sure what kind of person you would have to be to not find yourself affected by the experience.
Honestly mate they look rather uncomfortable haha! Made me think when I visited with them being held up with basically belt buckles. Thanks for your comment!
I was there last week and there are definetely presences. Both in the women and in the men sides. In the womens i could feel, in one of the empty small ones, a very anxious presence...and in one of the big rooms down(also empty ), in the mens part, somebody was really furious. It was quite a disturbing feeling. Just on those 2 rooms. I am not joking. 😓
There would not have been any gang affiliation in this prison, or prisoners being violent. They would have feared the sting of the birch rod or cat of nine tails on their bare bottoms.

Completely agree. The Chapel in particular have me an awful and oppressive vibe.
