    People who don’t like technology don’t know what they’re missing. I thought by now that we would all have an R2-D2 and C-3PO by now. We re so far behind on the promises that all the old TV shows and movies promised us of what the future would look like with flying cars and robots that make dinner for you. I don’t consider a microwave to be a robot. But to your topic I agree I don’t think these devices like Alexa or Siri are invasively listening to us or watching us. My toaster on the other hand I think wants to hurt me 🤣

    I don't have any devices like the Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant but even if I did I certainly would be worried that they might be listening. Like you said I'm the most boring person I know so if they were listening it would probably put them to sleep lol

      Right? I think that most of us lead a boring life in reality. Who’d ever want to listen to us doing chores or watching tv or eating dinner lol

    Always get adverts for subjects spoken or texted about. It's a breach of privacy.

    people who trade freedom for security deserve neither and will lose both-Benjamin Franklin

    • @contextwithjohnmalone
      @contextwithjohnmalone  2 года назад +4

      Actually what Benjamin Franklin said in a letter in 1755 to a colonial governor on behalf of the Pennsylvania Assembly was “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”
      This statement had nothing to do with Liberty.
      The letter was a salvo in a power struggle between the governor and the assembly over funding for security on the frontier, one in which the assembly wished to tax the lands of the Penn family.
      The letter wasn’t about liberty but about taxes and the ability to “raise money for defense against French and Indian attacks. The governor kept vetoing the assembly’s efforts at the behest of the family, which had appointed him.”

      @@contextwithjohnmalone had nothing to do with liberty but mentions it twice? Its irregardless if thats what he meant or not the sentiment is still true you are on here screaming to the ether that you are perfectly happy with a dick up your ass if it means you are more safe. You doing that only gives the would be 1984 perpetrators more permission to take even more freedom! You do not know how fast this safety can turn around and become opression. Australia in the name of safety forced people into concentration camps,china welded peoples doors shut and when they opened it up the guy inside had died of starvation and because of people like you that can totally happen in america

      @@kevinninja101 don’t conflate liberty and security and freedom. Most people these days don’t realize that the police have no constitutional duty to protect us. I covered the issue in Uvalde in this video ruclips.net/video/CuVmMuKVow4/видео.html

      @@contextwithjohnmalone hold the fuck up number 1 i conflate the 2 because safety is the gaslight reason that our freedom erodes and people like you gladly give it up. Number 2 you cant say that you are glad to give up your freedom so agents of the state can protect you and then say that the agents of the state are restricted by the document that protects YOU from THEM there was nothing constitution restricting those police from going and saving those kids what restricted them was cowardace afraid to lose there jobs from disobeying an order because they were ordered to stand down and they were afraid so for hours they decided to listen to children get killed for an hour or so. THATS what you have listening to you on those devices not brave men who just want to protect you ,cowards who want to opress you

    My wife and I have a smart tv a smart refrigerator, we both have iPhone's and Apple Watches and we have 3 Alexa devices one in our bedroom and one in the kitchen and one in our den. Plus we have a Nest thermostat and a Ring Doorbell. I don't care one bit if it's listening to me or watching me. What are they going to do? Only criminals should be worried. And most politicians lol
