About the tool you use to remove the film : is it metallic? I'd be afraid to scratch the display, but you seem to peel it with no particular attention, and the screen remains perfect. Or is it made with plastic?
thanks! yes its a steel. you can carefully use knife blade as well. dont worry it will not scratching your lcd glass

In order to change a positive display to negative display, do you really need to peel off the existing film??
good question! positive display mean the digit color is dark and the background is light. so if we don’t remove the existing film, and stick a new polarize film to make it negative, so the digit is still dark, and the background also dark. hope you understand

Is the film double sided? can you tell me which side has the sticky? Thank you
only 1 side have an adhesive one, you can remove the protective tape at the corner a little bit and touch the film using screwdriver to find out which side have an adhesive
I tried removing an lcd film off a digital watch I had, and reposition it but the light is not longer working and it doesn’t stick as it used to. Should I have used a new film rather than the stock film?
Giovanni Stanford you should change to new film as it’s already dirty at the adhesive side so it will not stick well and give bad look. the film change does’nt effect the light may be by the time you remove the film, your module is move a bit and the light panel terminal not connect with the pc board properly
Kalau nak polarized screen untuk DW6900 step sama ke dengan video ni? Saya x pernah buat tapi teringin nak tukar warne backlight. Polarized film dah beli tapi bila tengok video2 dari source yang lain macam complicated sangat sampai kene dismantled semua bende.
tak perlu pun dismantle lcd tuan, cuma buat ikut step yg sy tunjuk tu slow2, in sha Allah boleh. tak complicated pon cuma bila kita biasa buat, mmg nampak susah sket, tapi bila dah try buat, silap2 asek tukar kaler lcd je nanti 😁

I found out that, you don`t need a polarizer film if you don`t want a negative display.
you just can use gel filters. check the results and discussion in the given link. Hope it helps... .
