I would like to say the same thing to BB players. Had 3 games the other night with a radar Mino chasing me through the middle of the map in front of at least 2 BBs and they completely ignore him. If you want the DD to do his job then do your job and shoot the freaking radar Mino out in the open. Another game the other day I had all my BBs asking me to cap point with a DM sitting on the cap. They want me to cap, but they wont shoot the DM. So many games with stupid stuff like this. I cannot do my job if they don't do theirs.
Can't play destroyers and subs at all in randoms, no one wants to help you and when you do try to communicate you get a "STFU" from teammates camping behind islands or on the other side of the map. Then there's the threat of getting spotted and bombed by CVs when they're around. Such a shame, I can get a ton of exp from randoms but the way the games keep going makes me play operations almost exclusively, and it's sad I can't play subs in ops.
I get the opposite when I'm in my DM, fucking DDs rush into cap and die even after I radar everyone near or in cap and they know there's 4-5 people around. Then they complain that I'm not doing anything while i have over 55k damage 2 minutes into the game farming fires on BBs trying to push. As soon as I'm spotted, I'm getting shot at by 3 BBs without fail. DM isn't a fucking BB that can tank a shot from BBs. Hell, a single jap torp will almost kill a DM
I mainly play battleships and destroyers. Unfortunately map awareness is usualy not a strong suit of typicaly bb players. what I find realy useful though is to immediately call a focus target on a ship that threatens your play. sure, that target may only get hit 25% of the time but it is 25% over maybe 10% that the target will be shot at on their own. And as long as a dd can keep up the spotting while calling out important targets battleships can help a lot. the biggest threat to a good battleship rn are a spotting disadvantage and subs
I play the Gearing quite a lot, the first task is to study the team match up before the game starts. Subs , DD ,CV , Radar cc are the biggest threats. Along with RPF . There is little you can do if you're fighting a well organised team in random if they simply pick a flank you're simply up against it and have to move out of the area if your team is not supporting you. Not dying early gives you the best chance to turn a game around if your team gets off to a bad start. Nothing you can do if your team simply melts away in the first 5 minutes of the game and the whole of your team is at the other end of the map a fighting retreat is all you can do.
I’m a dd main, in my opinion by far the most important thing you can do as a dd is spot. It’s way more effective than capping unless there is almost no risk of being spotted. I love enemy dds who rush to cap, they spent a minute hoping to get the cap, and you negate that effort by taking the cap soon after they leave. My dd has the dpm of whatever I throw at the enemy plus the dpm of anyone firing at my spots! Pairing up is powerful but the trade off often is you give up a cap somewhere else. Unless you do aggressively take out the enemy dd you are bullying it’s a zero sum.
It is hard for a DD to do your job when there is a radar cruiser and CVs that can spot you until you are dead. I am a DD main and I do not contest caps until I know where the radar cruiser is at. P.S. I love my Shima with the 8km torps.
I agree. If i play a Russian DD, players dont understand Im easily spotted and have short range torps. Trust me, I want to spot, but a Halland can be a pain to counter with those characteristics and I know my worth as a DD so I try not to sacrifice myself, especially when your flank-mates have slow traverse turrets and wont be ready to shoot for a while.
@tepesvoda464 when WOWs first came out I played BBs but got tired of being burned down by stealth firing cruisers, then I played cruisers and got tird of being deleted by BBs. I almost quit the game. I decided to play DDs and that is when I became a DD main.
as a BB main I will admit that DD is probably the most important role in the game simply because you have so many roles to fulfill, you need to spot, cap, area denial, smoke up yourself and friendlies, hunt subs, provide to some degree aa support, I love my DD and will always try to help the best I can but if you sit back and just lob torps into the ether and go wondering off or just get shot at by the enemy DD while your trying to torp him and not firing back I'm not going to be inclined to follow you and help you I'll probably just leave you to your fate and accept the flank is going to lose.
I think it will help if WG made a score counter for base xp and had less focus on damage done. New player learn to shoot BB to get the high number on damage done. Win or loose they brag about having done 150K. Too many chase doing damage and not winning the game. We see DDs hiding behind islands to shot at a BB. They see the damage tick in while ignoring spotting, capping or hunting DDs. BBs learn that shooting a DD or a CL will bring you overpens but little damage. Doing 5K damage to a DD helps the team more than 10K at a BB most of the time. I would like a score that also reflects points from spotting damage, cap points and more stuff that helps win a game. (perhaps spotting torps).
Reason is that BB players are afraid to push. There are 2 German BB with hydro and secondaries and they don't push into the cap. Many BB play very cowardly, sittimng behind, saving HP. But they need to get closer take damage for the Cruiser and DD and threaten the enemy cruisers that the DD can do their job. It is often more fun to play Russian or French DD. Sorry, can't cap, visible from 9km. I juts spot my own targets, cruiser and battle ships and fram damage on them.
I'll make the same comment here as I did on SLM's video. Regarding gunboat DDs- consider eschewing the deep stealth game that seems to be expected on DDs and pick up Torpedo Lookout System and Radio Direction Finding instead of Concealment System Mod 1 and Concealment Expert. You become a much more versatile asset to your team when you can screen torpedoes and get a bearing on where the sneaky guys are trying to flank your big friends. Destroyers are the most flexible class in the game and it is essential to be able to shift from one role to another as situations dictate.
I really like and respect your thoughts, you and sealord hit the nail on the head and atm I am trying Brawls in my Vampire 2 with mixed success, I dont like randoms but I have been playing wrong so I am going take your tips and we will see.
Hi Ripper! Nice that you try to help us! Great work! That is just absolute right, a flank without a DD doesn't know what to do!!! PS. Did you change your Druid build? From long range to quick reload?
A DD are the eyes of the team. You’re also there to suppress the enemy team from pushing a flank, and getting into strategic position. Players will get mad at me for not rushing a cap at the beginning of a match. I like to spot, eliminate the opposing destroyer(s), and then take the cap. Once I become the only DD on a flank I press the enemy back using torps, and keeping the enemy spotted.
that's why WG encourage you to play with a division to have a better game experience but the ironic is it's also proved that having fun from a solo game is almost impossible!!
Yours is my favorite channel. And yes I passed SeaLords video along with this one on out teams training channel. I usually have my team mates go up the European line First to learn the fundamentals of shooting guns aiming, and torpedo placement and timing. And no smoke means they have to learn to play smarter. There are several great DD lines, but Gearing is the best overall work horse for Competitive.... (Just my opinion). 😊
Also in your other Gearing video from the other day I mentioned the Gearing is garbage and I decided to play it the other night with a full torp build and I have to say I had a good time. That being said I also had a decent amount of games where I wasnt able to have enough impact with torps for it to equate to a win. So it is usable as a torp boat. I also think they slimed down the model because it used to be much fatter and this helps the survivability.
I love taking out my max dpm/maneuverability colbert to support DDs... 10 seconds of a stream of fire and any DD is dead or crippled. Also really good against minos.
What exactly is your "full reload build" on the gearing ? I'm interested in picking it up, and I can't find similar builds that don't throw away RPF, which is crucial in my opinion.
Don't forget Rafa RPF is also an indication you're in the area it's passive both ways. It won't tell me your location but it tells me you're a close threat and I can move away accordingly. However RPF will give you the ability to clear and area and blind torp channels. It's a powerful tool and long range torp boats benefit.
@@vaughanlockett658also useful for gunboats because you can pre-aim, you might get a couple of salvos for free if they are not aiming in your direction. I take RPF on most DDs because it’s an incredible info tool and DDs are about providing info for you tool. It’s rudimentary radar which is always on.
I have a gun build Shininome for ranked, take the standard 4 for the first ten points, then RPF (general info plus gives you the ability to pre aim those slow turrets), AR and whatever the 5% reduction in gun reload 3 point skill then grease the gears for final point. It’s a dd killer, three salvos will kill most same tier dds, then the short gun range let’s you drop out of sight quickly. The double rear turrets mean you can run directly away and still have 66% of your gunpower working while being very difficult to hit. Torp reload is already good enough once you wipe out the DDs. Rarely play randoms cause of the big dumb teams, small team format is much more fun for me. Plus the doubloon rewards have let this total free to play player get paid for premium camos on almost all my tier X DDs and others I like to play.
A lot of potential subscribers are going to be looking for videos of specific DDs, builds of ships and captains, and a lot of those searches will not be tier 10 (a majority of ships aren't t10), especially for modes like ranked and, right now, t8 for clan battles. More ship reviews of other tiers is likely to get you more views and more subscribers.
The Jinan behind and sub next to you might have something to do with them not pushing as well buddy...But yeah, most BB - monkeys start running the moment their DD dies. Modern BBs are immune to fire, have no citadel, ignore cruiser armor, some even have radar and yet, they are still crying about their class being weak. Most BB mains are just incompetent.
Also check out "Hagostaeldmann", a really top quality dd player who goes into great detail about what he is thinking during the games, why he takes certain positions. Also great but he doesn't have much recent stuff is "Destroyer KuroshioKai" he is a bit better on the thought process and a completely insane dd player.
you got it the cruisers and BB just do not support their own team's DD but keep asking them to do all the dangerous front line duties , but unfortunately its not just the BB and Cruisers , often the team's other DD , the CV and the SS are not providing any support but yet still demand the DD doing all the work
yes a DD with long km torps is great. it helps ! but most of my owned ships are V or VI and i just dropped 3 that only had 4.5 km torps! now i have to build up my resorces to buy a decent DD in a higher class VI or VII , which as i looked earlier aint many that have torps longer than their detectability. also i find when i play DD that its difficult to get big ships to cover me as i try to sight in the opponents and usually i end up fighting one or two destroyers or a mix of ships by myself with no help. I have learned to wait for my supports and let the opponents take the cap first, and make sure i have helpers! which is problimatical once we see what we are up against when the other team sees we arent pushing immediately! yesterday i crawled to the closest cap and when i looked up as i was fighting the opponents DD i saw 5 red ships against me and 3 greens running away - meaning i was dead!
Great video Ripper. As a DD main myself I agree with you. Last night I was in a div with a friend of mine that is also a DD main and like you said, we went into caps together to hunt down the enemy DDs. In our first game, he was in his Kidd and I was in my Orkan. We ran into a tier 9 Flecher and he panicked when he saw that there were two of us. Naturally he tried to smoke up, the Orkan has radar...surprise, you´re dead!! Later on we also killed the enemy Le Terrible between us. And like you also said, the bigger ships ran away when they saw two DDs working together. And yes we won that game. Support your DDs guys, if we stay alive, you´re likely to win the game. If we die because you ran away, it won´t matter that you managed to live, you´re more than likely gonna have another loss on your stats.
You wouldn't think any of this is rocket science, and to be fair your opposing Gearing was a complete spud, but far too many DDs players are very selfish in their play style, sacrificing their win rate in the pursuit of damage farming. When damage farming is rewarded more than spotting, in terms of XP, it's going to keep on happening.
Yep I agree. I wish they make spotting more transparent and noticeable as a reward that you can see and benefit from but you’re right we get caught up in farming damage. They need to change the gameplay. It’s getting old
it's less about the DDs being an issue and more about the cruisers and battleships that immediately run the second they get spotted or immediately run for islands and cut themselves off from having any kind of angles to actually support the DDs and also as soon as cruisers and battleships get spotted on the enemy side YOUR cruisers and battleships will either be in kite mode or shooting at those instead of paying attention to YOU and supporting you... so yea... it's MORE an issue of cruisers and battleships imo just not paying attention at the early stage of the game, not going to say there aren't utterly stupid DDs that don't understand simple mechanics or understand what ships carry radar or how to evade/dodge while spotted... i've survived bow tanking and speed juking in a Tromp and that thing is slower than dogshit with regards to engine power and picking up speed in either direction BUT i did also have a good cruiser and battleship supporting that hammered the hell out of Moskva trying to push in. you're only responsible for yourself because you have no control over the other 11 idiots on your team! pay attention to your surroundings and just do your job to the best of your ability because MM is just f**ked some days and i've had wins i've pulled out of my ass and losses that were just impossible to turn around because the team just was that stupid with zero situational awareness... nothing you can do about the players on your team sadly... div up and work together!
Controversial opinion; if you want to learn how to play your DD, there are different types after all, then turn in game chat off until you feel like you know how to use it. I find the constant crap in chat from people telling you what to do despite that being against your DD's type (eg. go cap that flag in your kagero), to be distracting and detrimental to your performance. Stick to your DD's role; gun boat or torp boat. One is for cap contesting, and the other is for spotting and stealth torping.
One of my personal favs recently was a yamato player telling me to go hunt a Daring in my Kagero. I'm fairly good at destroyer duels, but that small miracle is just a little out of my skill range to accomplish. I got reported for declining that engagement.
Very good now explain how to play team-effectively in a non-smoke, non-gun-boat DD. May I suggest Oland? I've 3500 games in Oland BTW and find her to be the most versatile/adaptable DD in the game. My fav by far! Most hate her and likely immediately thbraaated my comment! lol Also lets see your DD play-style changes in a CV game and then a CV and sub match. This is where Oland adapts/contends so well which honestly is why I love Oland SOOO much. I fear not CVs, they fear me! Did I hear more thbraaats? lol
One issue is, that the majority of players seems to have no understanding how critically important t is that all have focus fire on enemy DDs, as soon as possible. Everybody needs to help eradicate enemy DDs as soon as possible. And then the DD players need to stop jolo'ing full tilt forward, getting spottet, having absolutely no support, and dying within three minutes of the game. And CV's needs to be removed from the game!
"The destroyer is the greatest decoy possible." I'd like to dis..... no no. You have a point. I'd say summaries are a greater decoy. Feasting on the class hate. But then again. Most sub players can't properly decoy and bait.
I have to agree, its the rare game that you lose your DDs and still prevail. Almost every game Im in these days one team loses its DDs in less than 3 minutes and its a romple stomp. The Dds I hate to see on my team, Sherman(not going to spot anything or counter DDs, just looks to sit in smoke and spam at BBs) and Tromp( going to hide behind a rock and try and use the airstrike, not spotting anything). It matters not to me which DD Im in I always look to spot and either torp or screen for the bigger ships. I will say Ive seen quite a few Russian radar CAs nowhere near any place they can use the radar, they got 19km gun range, they are at 19kms, negating the radar range. So lack of skills/knowledge are a huge issue. Good vid
@@alexsmith7801 lol, funny you bring that one up, had one on my team today and thought "oh great," but that guy was good, he would have been great in another boat probably but he had a great game and was useful.
I honestly am getting sick of these DD players, always with win rates lower than 47%, that think the role of a gearing or shim or several other dd's is to simply toss torps and flee and hope for the damn best. Hell I'll be up there in the cap with a Jager (no smoke, weak torps, lots of them fast reload) trying to cap and spot and support my team in getting rid of the dd on that side of the map (I spot you shoot guys). But all these other damn dd players will be launching and running to hide behind capital ships. Or running off to the side avoiding the cap (like that moron Yamagari player in a recent game using an island to hide himself popping out on the side and wow the island also hid the approach of two cruisers killing the damn dumbass). Sorry, I get salty as this people never learn. And they would watch a wonderful video like this and promptly say you are wrong. Argghhhh!
Sorry for so many comments, I just keep thinking of things as the video progresses. To your last point about BBs being obsolete and DDs being the most important class. I disagree completely because any class can carry a game when played very well. CVs are another discussion, but by far the most OP class in the game still and capable of hyper carrying. I think the reason BBs seem underpowered is because the class attracts a lot of new players naturally, they see the giant ship with awesome guns and they get excited. I know the first ship I wanted when watching the closed beta play was the Yamato before I found my niche. I am a super unicum BB player and a unicum DD player because a few well aimed shots at broadsides can win a game with a BB and in a DD I need to get in there and risk it all to have a real impact. I am still a DD main because I find the high risk/reward gameplay a lot more enjoyable. Sometimes I play in a div with 70% win rate BB players and they nearly one shot DDs that I fight. That being said there are specific OP ships in every class .
I appreciate that! Don’t apologize. It’s comments like this that we get different perspectives and can learn something I may have not seen. Thank you! Keep it coming
The difference is a very low skill player can be effective in a dd just by staying alive and spotting and spamming torps. You actually need high skill to carry in a battleship so it's just a lot harder overall
@@hagostaeldmann hmm that is strange to me because I always used to play BBs to take a break from the stress of DDs. BBs have always been a chill relaxing thing to play for me. Except recently I have noticed the subs make it more annoying and these stupid new secondary BBs. Because that's all we needed more of in this game is HE spam that doesn't miss. WG really like to cater to the mush brains.
I am playing just destroyers and I have tried battleships and cruisers but I can't play slow ships and cruisers .....naaaah but destroyers is big yes for me,above 1200 exp on every and I love when I play those ships and enter the mass to spot, sometimes I have over 100k spot but sometimes rest of my team say "who F him" xD and I finish that battle very fast :/ but yes, destroyers are 70% of every battle if not more.
@@RIPPERDD I think I have an idea based on how fast you talk. On average you speak 235 WPM and that's compared to several WOWS youtubers that speak 168 WPM. Based on that, you could be an auctioneer. The only other place I have heard that level of fast speech is on VASAviation or ATCAudio. I think your channel is great, love when you go over clan battles, but the one suggestion I would make is you slow down your speech a little. Although that maybe easier said than done. I will continue to playback the speed at .80x. Keep up the good work!
it's faster for me and it depends on what you are trying to do, i used to back in but that takes too long now, usually i just wait to kill dds first before i enter the cap, nose in helps me dodge the incoming torps first if i'm rushing in then keep the speed up to egress the area, again that's just my style, others usually back in
Quality of players is going down drastically sometimes u have 8-10 players red in your team , how to expect from them to understand game and support you.
Personally id prefer if they pushed pve more, im tired of the pvp focus.. i dont give a shit about randons, ranked or any of that.. then need to make co-op and opps better. They are trying with the up to rank 10 but its still not where it should be.
An opinion is not proof. In both those matches your team lost DDs too, the first one was just a blowout nothing to see there, the second the reds where mostly piled in the middle of the map being shot at from both sides. Terrible play in both games by the reds, these are not examples of good destroyer play winning the day. With that said I don't disagree about the importance of a DDs role. When you look at the stats on ships that have the highest WR it's dominated by DDs and cruisers. There are some CVs in that list too, but that will soon change when CVs lose most of their spotting, putting even more responsibility on DDs to stay alive to do so. So statically, yes, DDs have a huge effect on the outcome of a match. Cruisers also can have a huge impact on WR, and BBs dominate in the highest average damage category. Looks like all ships have their roles to play.
I love all the dd players trying to whine and downplay their importance…bb dies or dd dies…which one determines a retreat from an obj? Yeah that’s right dd
god that thunderer - sorry trying to be nice but they were really ineffective - interestingly so was your Balao AND your team lost two other destroyers early... game could have gone much differently. Love your vids! +1
Its hard for the average player to think this way. 80% of players just go by the book. 15% know how to use terrain around. 4% know some aspects of their enemy ships and use it to their benefit. 1% are RUclipsrs like you trying hard to give us an idea of a little bit of what goes in your mind while playing.
Area denial , staying to post a threat to the enemy and torp that reload slowest among all ammunition type meand dd doing their role and duty not only had to put in a good show of skill and placing the boat right into enemies ' kill zone But what does the game treat all these , nothing .. dd players are asked and tasked to do all but not only not rewarded and acknowledged its also a very significant opportunity cost attached when the time and effort can be used for farming , sorry that is the fact , farming reward and doing the team work do not .. why bb won't forward tanking , and cruiser won't forward support .. And many dd players are finding they are left hanging dry alone at the front These days as a dd main my take is simple if the team are not forward to fight and support then neither will I , am not just fire bait so they can farm and not fight it No amount of argument can excuse todays meta of big guns just do not team and do not support , as a dd main am sick of all these saying that I had to go forward do this , do that , NO won't be putting myself into harm's way if the team will not - simple as that
Spot and cap. If a dd does nothing else, it needs to spot and cap. Damaging and sinking ships is secondary. The basic design of the game at its core requires that the dds spot and cap, they have the smallest detection circle for that reason.
Clearly people dislike this role play game mechanic I don't see why there has to he something like this. Either way I am carrier player i will hunt dd if I am in that game kill dd win the game because how annoying DD is
i dont remember signing any contract that says we have to do what a contributor says...if you lot want ppl to do what you want, just tell WeeGee to increase division size to 12 so that you can put all your employees in the team and play
The amount of times I hear destroyers are what win games and not why. Torps? Speed? Smokes?spotting? Arty? Everything above? All you guys say is blah blah blah destroyers but why. Fuck your gameplay in 1 game with no cv, who knows what you are playing against. None of these videos are helpful
BB, CV and cruisers ...DO ur f'ing job rather, so that we can entirely operate in your favour. Thanks from a pationate DD player. I disagree with your pov... 1. Spotting enemy 2. I torp usually where you expect enemy as a torp DD... if I run a gun boat you forget this point 😂 3. cap can be taken by a radar cruiser either as long as you keep the enemy open as DD... sneak capping as DD is most likely ending in a sea of radar signal, planes and grenades on half of the maps. I agree there are some maps where caps are easy the get. I agree that a DD in general is most valuable alive and not throwing himself away in the first 3 mins of the match just for "getting ur f-ing cap". So as a DD your core duty is: YOU are the teams eyes - stay alive 😂🤌
I would like to say the same thing to BB players. Had 3 games the other night with a radar Mino chasing me through the middle of the map in front of at least 2 BBs and they completely ignore him.
Great word! Thank you!
Thanks for the very informative video. I love your cadence & narration style…glad I found you.
Thank you!
Thanks for this video I've been playing battleships for years just started with destroyers now I understand the concept of them
that's why WG encourage you to play with a division to have a better game experience but the ironic is it's also proved that having fun from a solo game is almost impossible!!
Yep! Thank you!
If the BB's & Cruisers wont offer support and run from a flank then NEVER have a go at a DD for not doing a job because you could not support them.
Oh! Im really glad i found this channel. Greta video!
Thank you!
I love taking out my max dpm/maneuverability colbert to support DDs... 10 seconds of a stream of fire and any DD is dead or crippled. Also really good against minos.
More like 5 seconds, I love Colbert too. No concealment, just pure dpm build, very fun.
Haha Thank you!
I finally found a DD main content creator, I’ve gotten back into the game after some time and want to get back on my DD grind.
Nice! Welcome back! Thank you!
I don’t have one and I don’t see how much you really gain from it plus I have no heals so for me not the best gunboat
I don't even play Randoms any more for the most part. I just rock CBs. Until we face CREDO, then we lose pretty much every time.
Haha it’s just that day. We lose to so many teams too. Unicum players starting out the season gets us lol
A lot of potential subscribers are going to be looking for videos of specific DDs, builds of ships and captains, and a lot of those searches will not be tier 10 (a majority of ships aren't t10), especially for modes like ranked and, right now, t8 for clan battles. More ship reviews of other tiers is likely to get you more views and more subscribers.
ok perfect thanks for the feedback, i'll start looking at tier 8-9 as well
This video shows why CVs are a problem. A good CV player could punish you 7 days a week and you couldnt do anything against him
Thank you!
You can also just hold tab and highlight over all of their ships and see who has radar and what range if you don't know
Yep perfect! Thank you!
Shout out to the carrier Salem. Kraken and 3k base!
Did everything. Probs wondering where the rest of the team was.
Cheers
Haha Thank you!
Haha Thank you!
love your info, hope i can make it work, and i'll try and partner with DDs when i can.
Thank you!
you got it the cruisers and BB just do not support their own team's DD but keep asking them to do all the dangerous front line duties , but unfortunately its not just the BB and Cruisers , often the team's other DD , the CV and the SS are not providing any support but yet still demand the DD doing all the work
Thank you!
yes a DD with long km torps is great. it helps ! but most of my owned ships are V or VI and i just dropped 3 that only had 4.5 km torps! now i have to build up my resorces to buy a decent DD in a higher class VI or VII , which as i looked earlier aint many that have torps longer than their detectability.
also i find when i play DD that its difficult to get big ships to cover me as i try to sight in the opponents and usually i end up fighting one or two destroyers or a mix of ships by myself with no help.
Haha Thank you!
Bravo!! This vid and MSLB's should be required reading.
Thank you!
Amen! Thank you!
Haha so true! Yeah chat is toxic these days. Great advice! Thank you!
Most hate her and likely immediately thbraaated my comment! lol
Also lets see your DD play-style changes in a CV game and then a CV and sub match.
This is where Oland adapts/contends so well which honestly is why I love Oland SOOO much. I fear not CVs, they fear me!
Did I hear more thbraaats? lol
Thanks for your tip I also like the Oland but I havent played as many games but I am still having fun.
Good vid
If I had to choose one DD I never saw on my team, it would be Halford.
Argghhhh!
Haha it’s all good. We learn hopefully through trial and error
@@RIPPERDD But they never learn. LOL
Yep! Dyfj! A lot of players don’t 😢
WG really like to cater to the mush brains.
many dd didnt spot or aware type of ships surround cap zone, they rush to cap and get blown by enemy radar
@ripperdd you're a 13F? You guys were handy in the sandbox
Apologize for the response but I rather not post what I do due to the nature of my job. Just know you can sleep safe at night.
What mode is that radar threat
So question. I noticed you go bow first into caps, why?
it's faster for me and it depends on what you are trying to do, i used to back in but that takes too long now, usually i just wait to kill dds first before i enter the cap, nose in helps me dodge the incoming torps first if i'm rushing in then keep the speed up to egress the area, again that's just my style, others usually back in
@@RIPPERDD thanks much for the explanation!
Yep I like the new tier x operations
Enemy submarine fail. Lost your DD? Surface! It's now your job to spot. You have DD levels of concealment.
No.
@@AlanRoehrich9651 You right.
Is ripper playing on low settings? the textures are killing me
yep i don't have 4k levels just the standard to help refresh rate
Awesome comment Thank you!
Those aren’t destroyers, they’re Doritos! Has His Grace, m’lord Mountbatten taught you nothing? ;)
BB mains names for DDs are irrelevant. SLM is a terrible dd player.
Most bb players won't shoot what's spotted, and if they do shoot, they can't hit shit.
I love all the dd players trying to whine and downplay their importance…bb dies or dd dies…which one determines a retreat from an obj? Yeah that’s right dd
Haha Thank you!
god that thunderer - sorry trying to be nice but they were really ineffective - interestingly so was your Balao AND your team lost two other destroyers early... game could have gone much differently. Love your vids! +1
I don't know if you noticed but he was abandoned by his whole team middle and was spotted basically the whole game by the red Deedee that kept mid-cap
Area denial , staying to post a threat to the enemy and torp that reload slowest among all ammunition type meand dd doing their role and duty not only had to put in a good show of skill and placing the boat right into enemies ' kill zone
But what does the game treat all these , nothing .. dd players are asked and tasked to do all but not only not rewarded and acknowledged its also a very significant opportunity cost attached when the time and effort can be used for farming , sorry that is the fact , farming reward and doing the team work do not .. why bb won't forward tanking , and cruiser won't forward support ..
And many dd players are finding they are left hanging dry alone at the front
These days as a dd main my take is simple if the team are not forward to fight and support then neither will I , am not just fire bait so they can farm and not fight it
No amount of argument can excuse todays meta of big guns just do not team and do not support , as a dd main am sick of all these saying that I had to go forward do this , do that , NO won't be putting myself into harm's way if the team will not - simple as that
Thank you!
Spot and cap. If a dd does nothing else, it needs to spot and cap. Damaging and sinking ships is secondary. The basic design of the game at its core requires that the dds spot and cap, they have the smallest detection circle for that reason.
Yep it’s a lot of passive gameplay sometimes but works. Thank you!
Clearly people dislike this role play game mechanic I don't see why there has to he something like this.
Either way I am carrier player i will hunt dd if I am in that game kill dd win the game because how annoying DD is
Yep that’s why CVs are so powerful. The airplane is what killed the ships. So I agree the CV is the best at hunting down DDs. Thank you!
The job is its a game. Top telling people how to play the game it will come to them.
yep it's a game, Thank you!
i dont remember signing any contract that says we have to do what a contributor says...if you lot want ppl to do what you want, just tell WeeGee to increase division size to 12 so that you can put all your employees in the team and play
Thank you!
If you're playing a DD passively with a 5.5-7 detectability you are playing it wrong !
Thank you!
lost me the second you mentioned sealord, to many hot takes looking for views, bad advice, and a douche in game when its not being recorded
Is he really a dbag?
Thanks for your input. Cheers
You need to talk faster. :)
haha i can't help it i'm excited
The amount of times I hear destroyers are what win games and not why. Torps? Speed? Smokes?spotting? Arty? Everything above? All you guys say is blah blah blah destroyers but why. Fuck your gameplay in 1 game with no cv, who knows what you are playing against. None of these videos are helpful
It’s all good just discussion and opinions but thanks for watching and providing feedback. Cheers!
BB, CV and cruisers ...DO ur f'ing job rather, so that we can entirely operate in your favour.
Thanks from a pationate DD player.
I disagree with your pov...
1. Spotting enemy
2. I torp usually where you expect enemy as a torp DD... if I run a gun boat you forget this point 😂
3. cap can be taken by a radar cruiser either as long as you keep the enemy open as DD... sneak capping as DD is most likely ending in a sea of radar signal, planes and grenades on half of the maps. I agree there are some maps where caps are easy the get.
I agree that a DD in general is most valuable alive and not throwing himself away in the first 3 mins of the match just for "getting ur f-ing cap".
So as a DD your core duty is:
YOU are the teams eyes - stay alive
😂🤌
Yep Thank you!
