    Thank you so much, teacher! You make it all flow in a simple manner.
    An excellent video, very well explained and easy to follow along! Installing the programs and making them work was just a breeze.
    Looks like I'll be following the whole series. It really seems that good!

    Dear sir, how is it possible to pair catchments size with any environmental variable using linear or logistic regression using R in QGIS? Can you give me some advice? Thanks so much

      Hi Abigail and thank you for being active at the comment section. I am not sure about how to answer you question. I am wondering if you can question for something more concise. Also, if you provide some context (geologic, meteorologic, hydrologic, etc.) it is going to help a lot. Cheers

      @@GeoRGBCommunity Dear sir, in the context of hydrologic, I'm thinking to pair up the catchment size with the water parameters data ( any environmental variable) such as the pH, BOD, etc. I'm currently using QGIS 3.16 and I have managed to install the rscripts. But now I'm not so sure whether to proceed with linear or logistic regression. I don't know where to start on this. I'm looking forward for your insights on this. Thanks so much

    • @GeoRGBCommunity
      @GeoRGBCommunity  3 года назад +1

      @@abigaila.jubilee6329 I am sorry, but I am not sure how I can help you. You can use liner correlation to see if there is any relation between 2 or more quantitative variables. You can use logistic regression to see if there is any relation between one qualitative (binary) variable and one or more quantitative variables. Each catchment areas has its own particularities an you can find relations between its size and other parameters, like rain, number of trees, recharge of aquifer, etc.

    I couldn't find the folder to download and import the R scripts into QGIS.

      Thank you for the positive comment. In general the folder appears by default, if that is not your case, just create a new one and assign the location in the directory of the QGIS.

    Dear Professor,
    Thank you very much for this course, I'd love to know what technic specifications your computer has because I see it runs R and QGIS at the same time very fast, while mine gets slow when I use QGIS. What kind of processor, RAM and hard disk would you recommend?
    Thanks

    • @GeoRGBCommunity
      @GeoRGBCommunity  2 года назад

      Hi Maria. The time that mine computer takes to compute the information some times is not real because I changed the speed of the video. In fact, most of the time I am working with a virtual machine that has limited resources. I am not sure what could be the recommendation but I can tell you what I have. processor: i7-700 3.60 GHz, RAM 24 GB and 1 GB state solid disk. With this setup if have no problems, but if I have to move 3D LIDAR data it gets also slow. However, taking in consideration the things that we are doing in this first course of geostatistics, you shouldn't have any problem. Maybe it is time to clean your computer or consider to get a new one.

    Hello and Thank you.Any Idea how to solve this, the first time is running(UBUNTU): Error in library("sf") : there is no package called ‘sf’
    Execution halted

    • @tremen2lio
      @tremen2lio День назад

      You either need to install the SF package or upload it into R using the library function. Library (sf)

    Hello! I am watching this course with the intent to "redo" these concepts in Python with packages such as Geopandas, Seaborn, Geostat and PyKrige, do you think Python is the way to go moving forward? I have not been having any trouble following along step by step with just python!

    • @GeoRGBCommunity
      @GeoRGBCommunity  5 месяцев назад

      Hello! That sounds like a great exercise to learn both Python and QGIS at the same time. Python is definitely a promising tool for the future of GIS, and your approach of redoing these concepts with packages like Geopandas, Seaborn, Geostat, and PyKrige is a smart move. Keep it up-you're on the right track!

    dear sir. thanks for your help. I want to use regression Kriging to estimate the carbon storage in the study area. But the residuals can't satisfy the normal distribution. How can I adjust the residuals to satisfy the normal distribution. Or should I continue with Kriging the residuals? Can you give me some advice?

    • @GeoRGBCommunity
      @GeoRGBCommunity  3 года назад

      Hi Rain Xia. The next 2 or 3 lesson for the "Second Geostatistics Course. Bivariate analysis with R and QGIS" are going to be about regression analysis. We are going to talk a lot about residuals, for simple regression and for multiple regression. We are going to see how to fit the proper polynomial to our data in order to avoid to have any trend in the residuals. We are going to do the analysis for 2 and 3 dimensions. Just stay tuned. Cheers

    Can't find Processing R Provider in QGIS plug in. I bet nobody got through this lesson.

      @GeoRGBCommunity  3 года назад +1

      Hi Richard. Thanks for the info. I am not sure why you cannot find the Processing R Provider plugin. Maybe, you are using a very old QGIS version. My recommendation is reinstall QGIS in the last version and see what happen. See the link below, it is from the official QGIS website. Please, let me know if you need more guideline. docs.qgis.org/3.16/en/docs/training_manual/processing/r_intro.html
