Having watched plenty of football games, it certainly isn’t the worst own goal ever. There have been guys scoring own goals with stunning headers from +20 meters, bicycle kicks from same distance, pathetic touches while trying to be fancy... This girl’s og is definitely a normal one. Shit happens. I hope she got over it quickly, as it’s part of the game.
There couldnt be a worse own goal because there could be no ball that's easier to keep out of the net than this one, unless it was actually stationary or moving in the opposite direction.
Unfortunately during my u12s when I was GK, I caused a own goal similar to Robert Green at WC when our team was drawing 1-1. We went on to lose 1-3. But I wouldn't hear the end of it from my coach after the match.
@@elpeluca7780 It's not about the passer missing that pass, but the GK missing that pass. It doesn't happen too often, but when it does, it's a stupid goal that's hard to regain. Hence why you never pass towards the goal, but only towards the line.
This is LITERALLY one of the first things the coach(es) teach you in the football academy not to ever try to stop the ball like that if it's coming towards you like that.

You never pass the ball to the goal keeper, sending the ball in the direction of the goal. The ball is always sent in the direction of the end line, precisely to avoid these type of home goals.
ummm no passing back to the keeper can be useful in helping build up an attack u just have to be confident in ur keeper. Obviously its important to not put too much power on it tho
Two mistakes there 1. We are always advised to pass to the gk outside the net areas just besides the pole ,this way even if the GK misses it, the ball will simply just go out for a corner. 2. Stopping the ball by planting it onto the ball is definitely not the way to do when the goal is literally behind you and she has barely any press on her.
No margin for error for goalkeepers. Outfield players can make this kind of mistake and, by and large, get away with it. But do this when you're in goal, and the ball's in the back of the net. Brutal.
She definitely does have a blind spot once the ball gets to her and certainly would be difficult to knock it back to a player when you got those knockers.
