i was lucky to meet randy at a nitro in 97. such a nice dude. i said thank you for all the great matches and great interviews he gave us all. and you could tell he was so thankful to hear that a 18 year old fan liked his stuff. mach man will never be forgotten in my house!
I was 10 years old in 1997 and wrestling was becoming my favorite thing in the world. For about 4 years or so i loved WCW and Randy was by far my favorite of all time. I used to rent the old Wrestlemania VHS's so i could watch his old matches. About the time Randy got screwed out the the belt in 2000 was about the time was starting to not watch it at all. By 2001 i wasn't the least bit interested in it.
Lanny is without a doubt such a genuine good soul. This world could use more brothers, more people like him. That made me shed tears which I am not known to do at all. Such a great guy showing love for his brother and shared his wish with his sister in-law. That is a true brother right there and I'm certain Randy was smiling all the way from the Golden Gates above!
His voice is so calming. When he was speaking and telling of his brothers wishes, it brought tears to my eyes. I haven't cried in a long time, but after listening to what Lanny had to say, I broke down and let go. May God watch over Lanny and his family. Thank You....

I don't understand why Lanny doesn't do voice work. His voice is clear, intelligent, and attracts attention. He would be great on commentary, announcing, or narrative.

I remember the first time I saw him wrestle, he was a wild man , going to the ropes and climbing them all of the moves so brash and how his face looked like the vains would pop , a cross of libarachi and jimi hendrix, funky and colorful, that dude can entertain anybody. Randy Poffo was my favorite 80's WWF guy. i played baseball at many levels and always admired that your brother made it to the AAA level. That "Voice" during those Epic promos will always live inside my heart. Honestly cried the Friday afternoon when I heard "Macho Madness" was gone.

There is an interview here on RUclips with Randy wearing a red shirt and shades, sitting down, and he's completely being himself w/ NO gimmick at all! He keeps complimenting the interviewer for knowing his stuff and was just laid back and cool/calm... One of the only interviews that I've seen where Randy is being 100% himself, and it shows the good hearted/intellectual side of Randy that other wrestlers always talk about when they speak on him being a perfectionist and a laid back guy outside of work.
Have been a wrestling fan for 45 years and this documentary on Randy was one of the best. No this part shouldn't been left out. Very fitting for an ending. RIP Randy

His energy is still here in a lot of us.When I think back to my childhood and all the weekend shows and the ppvs.How live that was.Somethings you think on and your mind can go back and you can get lost in those moments because the imprint of that energy is still there.Orndorff was my first favorite.I loved Bret,Austin,Benoit,Angle and Eventually Shawn.Last 2 Favs before I stopped watching was AJ Styles and The Boss but Savage 85-89 was my favorite all time wrestler.Intensity and charisma was off the meter.During the Monday night war era the bad guys were kinda popular but in the 80s you were a heel or a face and most of the time the fans fell in line with what you were.Savage was so good at the height of his heeldom that fans were liked him despite him treating Liz awful.I remember this wrestling magazine called Wrestling Eye had him on the cover”Wrestling’s most popular bad guy”like I said rare.I think maybe the Horsemen also achieved that love hate also

Lanny will always be a Genius in my book. The day that Randy died was my first night at an independent wrestling show. I went on to referee for that promotion in Utah for a couple years after that. Many wonderful memories about Randy Savage.
He was an amazing person.. an athlete and he had heart and drive. He was the best. My Father had Dementia and was watching wrestling and Randy Macho King was in a match ..my dad that guy is tough... I said he is....he reminded me of the toughest kid in high school.... he reminded me of number one,,,on top.
Found some old footage on RUclips of Savage from his pre WWE days. He was more Mick Foley than Mick Foley. It was brutally obvious where Mick drew inspiration. RIP legend. Always missed.
