The US Open is the final Grand Slam of the year and takes place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The 2021 US Open saw Russia's Daniil Medvedev and Great Britain's Emma Raducanu claim the men's and women's singles titles. It was both players' first major title, with 18-year-old Raducanu becoming the first-ever qualifier to achieve the feat. The 2022 US Open main draw is scheduled to go ahead between August 30 - September 11.

Coming back here as rune faces djokovic in Paris final ! What a progression ! He will become a very successful player in the futur
Rune won the Bercy final! Huge mental improvements too, saved 6 break points in that crazy final game. Not to mention Rune was down a set and down a break in the third against maybe the best frontrunner in tennis history. Huge progress over the last 14 months.
World Champion Novak Djokovic is ONE and ONLY. He always makes tennis so Special. Great Guy
Rune was ranked around 200 at this time, 2nd of Jan 2022 when season started he was 103, won Munich and rose to rank 40. Getting by Tsitsipas in French open but stopped by Ruud, now around 25-30 before new official rank. It has been a steep and well deserved climb for Holger Rune, just turned 19.

Won Paris open after beating 5 of the worlds top 10 ranked players in one week. The first four he beat in straight sets. Last one was Djoko whome he lost 1 set to before taking the rest and thus became the champion in Paris. Just passed second round in Australian Open as I write this and have not lost a set in first two matches. Holger Rune are going places, fast! And so well deserved!

It was nice of Novak giving him one game in the last set because he said he was impressed how Rune was fighting and not giving up
No tennis player gives up a set to his opponent except against his will
And the only player to do that is Federer, but that was one match, not a group that Andre Agassi ceded out of respect for Andre and also for the fans so that the group would not end with six matches for nothing.
Therefore, Ron snatched the set from Djokovic against his will, and if Djokovic had wanted to give up the set, he would have given it up before reaching the tiebreak.

Novak was mentally exhausted in this tournament, you can see it in his eyes.... the final was just the outcome of that. Even the GOAT have something of human left in him.

remember Musetti retired at 0 4 at 5th set or Alcaraz retired at just few points before ending the match, Rune fighted to the end with cramping from 3rd through the 4th set, this is real sportsmanship! i very much respect this kid who has a true quality of a champion.

@@adamcang4683 nah at this point only a fool would think otherwise. He is the undebatable uncontested GOAT. The debate is only for 2nd, 3rd, 4th an 5th position. 2nd position mostly goes to Nadal. 3rd/4th/5th is debatable between Sampras, Laver and Federer
