      This is actually not the end of Pandaverse guys. There are a couple short movies of kung fu panda that actually explain a lot of things like the origin of the furious five and how it was Po who meddled and choose his future partners. And others... like secrets of the scroll, the furious five, secrets of the masters and holidays. See if you guys can react to those.

Not that he needs a love interest per se, but it would be interesting to see who he would fall for and why. Perhaps he falls for someone who turns out to be a villain, and he has to make a tough choice in the end of the movie.

Kai, having learned to take Chi, Tai Lung having barely learned nerve attacks, Kai having 500 years in the spirit world to learn, who (this is a tossup, I don't consider it this, because he knew it wasn't his destiny to stop Kai, so he gave up, but some do) easily dealt with Oogway. One of my favourite quotes from the series. It encourages you to grow and I love it as a reminder that everything you know today you had to learn at one point in life. It takes away the fear of trying to do something new out of fear of failure because you've already proven that you have the capacity to learn over time despite the initial failure.

    Kai _appeared_ more powerful but eventually became less than nothing by trying to steal the life force (chi) of everyone else. But Po became more powerful and alive by teaching the Pandas to be the best they can be as _themselves_ -- granting value to _their_ life. Po's adoptive father helped change the story around by appreciating what Po gained from his two dads -- granting importance to Po. Everyone in the village saved their own lives (and more than themselves -- everyone everywhere) by giving life force (chi) to Po.
    So giving value to others' lives brings more life to you.

    • @cloudsteele1989
      @cloudsteele1989 Год назад +18

      I think one of Kai's biggest downfalls was that, while he COULD control the CHI of those he captured, he 'literally' had to control them. The stronger the CHI the more he had to concentrate... There is no way he would ever fully control a true masters CHI... Did OOGWAY ever appear in the final fight?

      Because Po gave chi. Kai absorbed chi forcefully, with their bodies. Po gave chi and his body didn't go with it, thats why it was too much, the life force without the body was simply not computed by his body due to so much absorption.

  • @luna498-h5z
    @luna498-h5z Год назад +68

    One thing I really like about the trilogy is the fact that Po's character is so humble. I think that is why he is chosen as the Dragon Warrior, because he's not afraid to admit that he doesn't know how to do something, therefore he is open to learning new lessons, techniques, and skills.
    For many of the villains, you can see that they think they know it all, that they have conquered everything, and they think that Po is beneath them in terms of fighting ability. They underestimate him and their own cockiness is their downfall.
    Whenever Po runs into a problem, he stops to solve it, and never throws a tantrum despite everyone always underestimating him, from Master Shifu and the Furious Five thinking he couldn't be the Dragon Warrior in the first movie, to General Kai in the last movie.
    Po never believes that he cannot do something new or learn something new. His character is an example of someone who is open to learning anything, instead of thinking that they already know everything there is to know.

    The message of "it means more for Po" really gets me. I think often about how at the end of the day love is a truly limitless resource, especially after studying to become and finally becoming a teacher. I currently have about 120 kids that I definitely consider "mine" and love with all my heart. To me, that's probably the most important lesson of the movie. Love doesn't run out and there is always space for it.

    I am so happy you guys enjoyed the trilogy! I knew the lessons would be loved, especially by Oak. Back in the first movie when you guys mention loving and wanting more of Goose Dad I was just waiting for this movie! For me my favorite is the second one, but thats like saying while one was 100% the others got 98%. The beauty of the animation always is top tier. I loved Kai and his theme music. It wasn't talked about, but for me it spoke a lot to Po's character that he without hesitation sacrificed himself to save everyone. He had no clue he could come back, right up til the end where he spoke with Ooogwei. He thought it was a one way trip. And he did it with no fear, just a glance at his parents and friends. If this was going to be the last movie it was a perfect ending. And for most of us it was, until recently with the announcement of the fourth. I don't know where they will take the story, will their be a time skip? Will we see more of China? Who knows, I only hope for the same beautiful animation and possibly a good story.

    I like to think of the idea of chi with the freely given vs the taken being like the lesson from "The World Ends With You". Our world is a small thing, only what we can experience on our own. It ends with you. But with the exchange of ideas, knowledge, wisdom, experience, vision and creativity between people we make our own worlds so much bigger. You can also do that by stealing ideas etc but in the end that isolates you and makes the ones close to you who would really make your world bigger leave. So that which is stolen gives you less.
    Like Oogway being forced to confront his best friend for attempting to steal the chi of the village. He wanted to kill them and take theirs and that just made his world smaller.

    From my understanding of Taoism/daoism, the line: "The best you, you can be." and "Make you into you." mean going further along your own dao/tao towards becoming a god or at least godlike. In essence the idea is that no matter what you do or who you are each of us has our own path towards enlightenment. Unlike a lot of other belief systems which have specific paths to godhood or sainthood as the maximum destination or only via being chosen.

    Something nice to acknowledge , it seams that oogway was like kai, a bad "General" he leads armys. But after he stayed for a while with the Pandas it seams he became good.

      Yes Oogway was a war lord in his younger years and not good aligned given the titles Kai went by like “maker of widows”, “master of pain”, and “beast of vengeance”. Not exactly titles befitting a morally good character.

    I dont quite understand what you meant with the theme progressing throughout the entire third movie unlike with the first two.
    The theme of the first movie was "theres no secret ingredient, its just you, for something to be special you only need to believe it is" and it did that throughout the entire movie from start to finish.
    The theme of the second was comming to terms with your past which it also did from start to finish.

    • @MegaMilenche
      @MegaMilenche Год назад +1

      The third one is the weakest. Kai is the least compelling villain in the trilogy and I was surprised by how much I personally disliked all the pandas. Not to mention the connection between pandas and Oogway and how that re-contextualizes, I will dare say, even retcons, his decision to choose Po as Dragon Warrior.

    • @DGSnowolf
      @DGSnowolf Год назад +1

      yeh for me the 3rd was BY FAR the weakest too. I was very surprised they gave it the highest score of the 3. It unlike the first 2 movies doesnt even have its own message but kinda repeats the ones of 1 and 2. I've also forggoten most of the movies scenes now except like the actually important stuff. The humor was weaker, the character moments were weaker and the villain definitely was weaker. Tai Lung was smypathetic and Shen even had moments that showed him as just another "human being" (I know theyre animals). Kai appeared and then went on and on about chi. The only characterizing moment we got was his talk with shifu when shifu said "I will not let you destroy Oogways memory" and kai replies "Why not? He destroyed mine!"@@MegaMilenche

    • @MegaMilenche
      @MegaMilenche Год назад

      @@DGSnowolf Talking about Tai Lung, Oogway should've just said to Shifu, when he adopted the baby snow leopard, that he was just waiting for a panda. It completely undoes the "Oogway saw darkness in Tai Lung's heart and that made him unworthy to be a dragon warrior". Boom, you no longer have the first movie.

    • @Nyanki711
      @Nyanki711 9 месяцев назад

      @@DGSnowolf2's message was the weakest in my opinion. But probably because I'm not adopted and don't struggle with my past. I've never been able to relate to feeling parents are part of one's identity.
      As someone who has struggled with believing in my own self and figuring out who I "should" be, 1 and 3 made more of an impact on me. Though I enjoy the whole trilogy.

    1:40 Acknowledge the distraction without ignoring it, and then let it go. This movie is a little too abstract for me. I prefer the look of 1 and 2, even though this one is stunning in it's own way. I think it moves a bit too fast, and the characters have been simplified a touch, just a touch too far. Kung Fu masters, including the 5 seem too afraid and useless in battle. The ending was beautiful, and it was a nice ending for the story. I just with the fight scenes weren't so abbreviated and the characterization was a little more careful.

    Hey @BaddMedicine I don't know if you guys still check comments on this, or just old videos in general, but there's a mistake in editing at the beginning of this video, thought it might be nice to know. When you're introducing yourselves ("I'm Mason Quinn, this is The Answer, and this is the Appleton Oak") the digital nameplate edited in for Answer says Diamond Dave instead. Could be taken as a compliment though, since Dave is by no means a bad person to be :)

    Thank you for not taking a year to finish this trilogy.Only two weeks! Unlike one channel I'm thinking of that has done the first 1 year ago, the second 4 months ago and haven't touched the third YET. They love the movies but just keep pushing them back. They do this for ALL of the trilogy and movie groups, takes them a year plus to get through and it aggravates the hell outta me.

      Oooooooh right, I forgot about that scroll. Just cause Po's dad specifically told them during the trip that they couldn't bring the Goose cause they couldn't lead outsiders in, I didn't think the location would just be left written on a scroll. Lol since it's secret and the scroll could go anywhere. BUT, you're probably correct about that. Lol

    Okay I have an unpopular opinion:
    I like the 3rd one more than the 2nd one... Actually the 2nd one is my least favourite... favourite.
    1 has the best most complex villain. (how a good person can go bad through expectations and bad parenting)
    3rd has the most heart
    2. is the most serious and well developed
    I love all of them. But while the jokes in the 3rd one can be a bit much, I feel like it has the most heart of all of them!
    Also Kais music slaps!
