This is Sara Jane Ho, expert of etiquette and founder of the Institute Sarita finishing school.
Etiquette combines charm and integrity. Knowing what to do in any situation gracefully is one of the most empowering things for a person: it means feeling capable and confident around other people. I grew up in China with my mother throwing dinners and parties at home; now I do the same. I like to create magic moments through entertaining, putting guests at ease.
As I travelled and immersed myself in different cultures, I discovered that people all over the world want to have a sense of belonging. I was a student at Harvard Business School and thinking about what I wanted to do in life, when it hit me: I had lost my mother to cancer, but I could keep her legacy alive by sharing the joy and love that she brought to others through entertaining. I took a leap of faith and opened the first finishing school for ladies in China in 2012. Today that leap of faith has grown into several thriving ventures.
As China opens its doors to the world, I want to continue elevating women and give them the tools to feel confident in any situation. This passion of mine has evolved into a business I want to continue nourishing and sharing with people around the world.

My new favorite obsession is Sara Jane Ho! Her Netflix series is awesome. I think it's time we have a modern etiquette guru who can speak to the current world in a global perspective. Her East Meets West branding is so spot on. I loved this episode and I'm going through each of her videos now. Can't wait to see what she does next and will be in line for whatever she does when she expands her line into the US.

Also, my handbag is really just a black mesh pencil case with my id/credit cards, a pen, piece of paper, lip gloss, and tissues. Embarrassing, I know! Which is another reason I’m continuing to watch the show and trying to find the book. I need to invest more care and energy in myself. Thanks!
Hello Ms Sara Jane Ho, I am an Indian and although we are not considered Asian, you know better, don't you? Thank you for your show on Netflix. It's one of the best shows I have seen (I don't watch much television to be honest, and if I do it's mainly non fiction). Thank you for truly representing the Oriental culture to the West. I found so much similarities between the Indian and Chinese cultures, that I was searching hard for the differences. Waiting for your book to hit the bookstores.
By the way, in the 5th episode, I felt if you could have changed the woman's eyeglasses that would have revealed her eyes so much. The big clunky eyeglass was making her look older and add to her age. If the eyes are more visible, and she has beautiful eyes, people will just stare at them, and not be attentive towards her wrinkles or acne. Just a thought.
