This is a really awesome cover! I think your voice has improved a lot and it really shows in this one, there’s something about it that makes your singing feel really alive.
This was absolutely INCREDIBLE you guys oh my goodness!! When your voices came together closer to the end it was SO SPLENDID, so happy you put this together
A... Surprisingly upbeat song about something so sad. It's got these warm feelings in the instruments, but it's like... Sad? Like warm memories. ;-; I do miss you. We should talk again.
If you'll allow me, I want to give some criticism. First, your voices sound so good together. You two have good voices separately, the final chorus showed that you can really harmonize and sound great together. That final chord was also wonderfully done. I also loved the small changes you both added to really make it new instead of doing a straight cover. It shows that you both have a good grasp on music and how to make it interesting for a listener. Now on to the actual criticism. In your solo choruses, you both sounded like you were straining to hit the notes. It was a little jarring because the solo verses sounded so effortless. I don't know where your voices lie and singing voice can be different from speaking voice. If I had to guess, I'd say it's natural for your voices to rest in a tenor 2 or baritone vocal range when singing. That said, if you're singing higher notes, move into a head voice (and/or falsetto) instead of trying to keep it in your throat if it's out of range. That's what can cause that strained sound in the choruses. It was very clear that, in the final chorus, whoever was singing the higher part really sounded like they were working hard to reach those notes. I want to stress, neither of you sounded bad, just like you were pushing too hard. I think that, with enough practice, you both can sound more natural, but it'll take time. I know this is an older video, but I hope to see where you go from here.
@@alexibeshears7549 Thank you so much! I agree with your criticism with my vocals. I feel I didnt spend enough time to practice or polish them as I made the decision to keep the vocal harmony in that higher octave (giving me the challenges that came with singing in that range). Im also pretty self critical about my mixing on this one, but I definitely learned alot from it! One step at a time ^^
@kruyo1001 I'm glad that I my comment could help in some way. I have listened to some of your more recent work and it sounds beautiful. The one that made me subscribe was your gift to your mother. Excited to see where you go.
