No one talks about the real issues. 1) 15 lakh civil servants/320,000 army more than required.
2) No corrupt money/property has been recovered.
3) Unresolved language/ ethnic issues.
4) The cost of living has tripled.
5) Salaries of private sector employees with no changes / Don't have the proper leave & Insurance.
6) Sri Lanka running corruption in governance.

I have been listening to Dr Harini for a long time now since she was elected to parliament but she has politically matured and she has academically and intellectually grown as well..Her answers are excellent and crystal clear.
She gives some rational justifications for answers and she appeals to our minds and hearts with her arguments...NPP has a team of good leaders ..

Growth of exports from minus 10 to 5% is a growth mathematically but what we have to consider is whether we allow the same political culture to continue which put the exports to that -10%
Trying to justify the impacts of austerity measures by the mere increase of production rate is nothing other than a pathetic excuse. Taking sides with austerity measures and being anti corrupt is illogical because austerity is in place to compensate for the corruption.

Harini was as usual calm and to the point. Agree that NPP is right not to join with those tainted with INTEGRITY issues. Their currency with the electorate is at rock bottom and most of them are unelectable.
Re the Bangladesh situation, it is still very new and we can’t draw comparisons or conclusions. Bangladesh had an autocratic government that did not have proper democratic elections and was heading towards a one party state. It has a one track economy built around GARMENTS, with very low wages. Their economy was crumbling after the Ukraine war and they too went to IMF but they have more $ reserves than SL. Final straw for Hasina was shooting people to stay in power. This is not an option in today’s world. However, they have an independent Nobel laureate Yunus, what SL did not have. So let’s wait and see.
Shiral looked a confused participant, vowing to vote for a stubborn dictator, who appears to have done very little for SL in his entire political life, who promoted and encouraged corruption in the past 2 years, sheltered 225 who couldn’t even go to their electorates. There are many service providers who can salvage a broken car but what people want is a new car. The salvaging business should have completed in max 6 months after oil prices came spiralling down, but it’s 2 yrs+ and in the mean time some have died without food and medicines. I say no more.

Harini is right, the economy must expand fast. Growth rates of close to 10% is required and this can be done with digitalisation, manufacturing, agriculture, ports, energy etc etc. Revenue streams from VAT, customs, excise, Immigration, Inland Rev must increase in heaps by stopping political interference and patronage. Then taxation relief and fair grants for low income people are become possible. Moreover, enforcement of Law and Order will reduce corruption and give citizens their freedom. NPP is very capable in delivering on all these fronts because they have selfless honest leaders like AKD and Harini.😊

Forces have a right to protect a sovereign government which they have done. In both SL and Bangladesh the forces informed the leader that the forces were unable to protect the leader at a certain moment in time, to ensure their safety. So both left for safety reasons. In SL it was entirely peaceful, which is commendable whereas in BD over 300 protesters were unnecessarily killed, for which Hasina as the leader is responsible.
