As a senior for bixby band this was one of the most fun I’ve ever had at an OBA. I am in the front on the stage at the end and seeing everyone stand up cheering for us was one of the craziest experiences of my life.
That wasn't just a great band performance, that was an incredibly entertaining SHOW!!!! That strutting up onto the stage at the end just shows that they were there to wow the audience and they did. Are you not entertained?!?!
I was a part of that show last night and looking back over it, the way the crowd cheers makes me really emotional. The amount of work that we have to put it makes it totally worth it.
This was my first OBA as well, and Bixby was my favorite band that I saw, but i only saw the prelims performance since our finals performance wasn't long after yours
As a parent of a different band in the stands, y’all absolutely deserved a standing ovation, even I stood and clapped. Your group killed it. Great job!
As a parent of another band, I really thought Bixby was going to place higher. I heard other comments in the stands voicing the same thing. You deserved a higher ranking. Loved your show and you should be proud of the hard work all of you obviously put into your show! Great job!
They honestly deserved so much better than 4th and they definitely deserved the general effect award. They did absolutely fantastic and made my day 100%!!
If this goes to nationals it’s going to be in the finals, my niece was in the pride of Broken Arrow from 2016-2018 and I always thought Bixby was the most underrated band.
My son is a senior for another band but I wanted to say that Bixby freaking killed it!!! Very entertaining show, I loved the visuals! It had me saying "wow" at several moments during the show. Thanks for posting this video so I could rewatch it and congratulations Pride of Bixby on a great show!
I’m a union freshman and I love your show so much bixby I want to march your show I love the choreo and the music and the baritones sounded like they weren’t together but I’m sure that was part of the music for the show and I live your drumlins it’s huge I want a bigger drum line and I want to get back to what we were in like the 90’s anyways love you bixby
i’m a senior this year. hadesland was my freshman yr show. sophomore and junior yr i didn’t do band or guard. but i did the junior yr winterguard season. i regret not going straight into guard after hadesland. this season has been so fun and even though we got fourth, i still think in reality we got 3rd bc BA always wins
ya know, honestly, this performance could have been better. but i'm not worried about it. i'm a senior, and learning and experiencing this show was one of the craziest things i've ever gone through. from the first time we learned all the loud hits, to when i heard the trombone quartet for the first time, to when i heard us playing the ballad hit for the first time while watching a video of our prelims run at union, to when we learned the crazy choreo for movement 4. hearing our brass's sound sear through the air like 100 bullets gives me chills every single time. see 2:00, 6:19, 8:14 (listen for when the high brass cuts out and the low brass comes through as well as the main hit), 10:57, and when the microphone has an aneurysm trying to record our last note at 11:28 for reference. it was all so surreal. every single football game when we performed it at halftime, the entire audience was planted in their seats. standing on the stage on the last note and hearing the crowd cheer for us louder than our volume as an ensemble could ever be was just mind-blowing. i cannot possibly be more proud of our wow-factor and how we could entertain hundreds, possibly thousands of people like we did. hearing all the stand talk from parents of other bands about how we should have placed higher is something i could never have dreamed of for this ensemble. we may not be known as the best on paper(yet), but we are regarded by many to be some of the greatest entertainers in the oklahoma marching arts. we can't beat bands who pay for their shows with a homegrown, organic, soulful, meaningful program (yet) in a competition, but that never stopped us from putting on some damn good entertainment. we're one of the very few ensembles to create their own shows and place as high as we do. we have the balls to care more about annihilating your eardrums than whatever the GE judges have to say (not gonna speak on that too much for obvious reasons), and we STILL placed 4th, above every other band in the entire state except mustang, jenks, and BA. all of that makes me immensely proud to be a member of this great ensemble. we still had such an incredible impact and that makes me incredibly proud. so all in all, the run could have been better. but the journey made it all worth it. i can't wait to see what the next generation of the pride of bixby has to bring.
You have so many great things to look back on for your senior year. I wish I could say something like that about the ensemble I was in. In the 2019-2020 year, I was a senior at Shawnee HS. I witnessed Shawnee's program dissipate from having about 120 kids from my freshman year to 82 kids by the time I was a senior. That number drop was from kids just quitting band, and now there are even fewer kids in the band. But we sounded pretty good my freshman year, and that's about all I can say 😂
I saw Bixby play at union high school and it was so amazing seeing them play. This performance is way better then at union. I hope the high school I go to has the same enthusiasm as you guys do.
can't even lie ive watched this at least 10 times, as a Tuba from Moore Highschool I usually am able to pick out the tiny mistakes from marching bands and i only found like one from one person reacting a second late at the beginning. yall should have honestly gotten 1st this year in my opinion, I don't think BA's show this year was as good as last. Good job yall and can't wait to see what you guys cook up next year! (also if yall know the the sousaphone guy that has the trombone solo at 2:56 could yall give me a name? he sounds amazing and is amazing at both sousa and trombone)
There were some minor musical clarity issues. The judges have been doing this activity longer than either of us have been alive they know what they’re judging. Continue to appreciate the skill these performers have, but don’t make it a focus on placements. We don’t need to put down others to bring others up.
my prelims run was much much better than this run. especially since during the big crazy train hit i dropped and it wasnt event a toss my hands just fumbled.
It’s my first time attending a Banda competition and I loved it! my son plays the Tuba and I am very happy that he is part of that wonderful Bixby Marchin Band ❤💙🤍
Set the quality to high
hey you have a pretty serious problem with user OldMan leaving ridiculous comments. just letting you know.

As an alumni from Jenks, Bixby was on fire this year cant wait see there program grow they always have unique and interesting shows!

@@PWBS-yc6xiyeah, same here. This is still my favorite performance of all time. There’s just something so gravitating about this show.
As a person who was in this show, it was amazing to be in, I cannot get the music out of my head

unfortunately, we don't have the money as a program to regularly attend grand nats. but we love to speculate :)

Rewatching this after BOA in Indy 2024 and wow, I don’t think any show I’ll ever do will be able to compare to this. 🔥
@colliert2310 I will be at OBA again all day this year. This year looking pretty good so far?
Maybe I'm biased but best non-B.A. or Top few schools' BOA show I've seen in 4 years!!! 4th HAS TO BE A CRUEL JOKE!!!

Lol yeah our baritones tore a bit
our baritones are interesting to say the least💀
Watching this my freshman year was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever experienced. Legit.
I love it when the full band plays the first notes and it's just this wall of sound. Always makes me excited.
Absolute perfection Pride, so amazing! ❤
An amazing performance..Iam watching from Dubai. My grand child is a part of it.
I’m just a kid from Westmoore band, but seeing your show in prelims was spectacular. You guys truly have a spectacular show!

@@UnbalancedTorch since you’re evidently in “our show” i wonder what the directors would say about all of your snarky comments
I wish y’all placed higher I loved yalls show, much love from BA!!
It was performed excellently!
Why does Oklahoma have the best high school marching bands 😭
*Texas has entered the chat*
This was such an amazing preformace to watch. Especially in person
Best Bixby show I’ve seen, personally. Always look forward to watching you guys every year
Still my fav. out of 3 years / seasons of marching shows.....esp. final cpl. mins.
