There is a fine line between brutalism and laziness. Malaysian designers and architects tend to lean towards the latter. Same thing with Malaysian "industrial" and "minimalist" design.

You would be interested to visit Tamarind Square if you like this industrial / brutalism style. It's done up so much better than EkoCheras IMHO. Great video as always. Cheers!
Great job as always. Interesting concept. Seems like it would be a great place for a single person to live - but if you have a couple, they better be in love! Not much room. Could see an investor like yourself buying one and renting to an expat who comes to KL for a 1-2 yr assignment.
It's very challenging for Architect, interior designer, electrical contractor and lift contractor to work with such fair-faced concrete design. Thumbs up to developer despite of controversy!
Yupe. Hence I really empathize with the development team who went through all the harsh response by the public while the developer is the one who made the final call. Thanks CK for your view. I really appreciate it.
Agree, the market here still do not understand and not so acceptance of "raw" design. But I do appreciate it too as an Interior Designer. But still some areas could be improved though. Hey! I didn't know you have achitectural background :)

It looks cheap, i think brutalism looks good for old buildings, warehouses, being rehabbed but not for something brand new trying to look old by cutting corners
I don't know whether the developer is trolling by calling it architectural trend. Or their just being cheapskate 🤷. And the very same developer is awarded Bandar Malaysia project. Good luck.

fine, brutalism and all etc. but they're doing too much (or too little would be more correct) with their basement carpark.. I went to this mall for the first time recently and no other malls have carpark as suffocating as eko cheras mall. you can't walk a few minutes there without being drenched in sweat. in other malls' carparks you still feel okay walking a couple minutes to/from your car and you probably won't mind parking slightly further from the entrance. NOT at eko cheras.
