- An off-duty Chicago police officer was fatally shot overnight while returning home from work. Mayor Brandon Johnson released a statement Sunday morning expressing his condolences. He identified the fallen officer as Luis M. Huesca of the 5th District/Priority Response Team.

Are you thinking this could have been avoided if more 5 man tactical teams were checking for seat belts? When you have a group of 4 to 8 men doing armed robberies and carjacking, this just goes to show that an off duty police officer on his way home is easy prey along with the rest of us.

I grew up like 2 blocks from this shooting, usually the gangs are quite nowadays. Since they are connected to the Cartel, no needed attention, bad for business. Wonder if the migrant shelter lays the answer.

I've lived in all the hot spots. Pilsen, Little Village, Humbolt Park, Cabrini Green (housing projects) when it was still standing. My ERA of my childhood and teens the violence was just as BAD. The differences NOW from than are 10 FOLD.
