That affair is MEANT TO make you uncomfortable. The movie is about grayness and suspiciousness. There is nothing to do with culture.

@@Avenger-bd2fs I had no issue with the grayness of the character in Animal. I had issues with the shitty dialogues, the stupidity of the scene where he is fighting alone with an effing orchestra next to him, using logic like why can’t the wife forgive him for sleeping with another woman when she has forgiven him for all the murders and also the fact that they showed absolute no reason for him to have daddy issues when they showed Deepika’s character having legit issues in her childhood leading her to become this way… I can go on.
This ain't a curtural thing bro, this is privileged people bullshit, yes there's a lot of cultural and religious boundaries in majority of India, but the rich, they couldn't care any less about it. In fact, it's even a possibility that Rich Indians live a way wilder life than Americans, who make it evident. People are shocked when they see this side of India like shown in Dil Dhadakne Do and Gehraiyaan, but it's true, and it's happening right now as I type this. The things I have personally seen kids with rich parents do, oh boy, you would never believe if you don't see it yourself.

Exactly my point. Someone in the comment section calling out people for disliking this movie is sad. This is just a pathetic movie.
Anything glorifying wrong things, setting standards for genZ to feel accepted to feel justified in wrong things they do.
Come on, it's not about indian audience, it's just about a pathetic movie for pathetic audience.
This is definitely no cultural thing. Cheating is not cultural. Imo both of them are flawed and definitely terrible characters for cheating. I think we are supposed to feel uncomfortable about them flirting and cheating behind their partners back. Many people say the movie glorifies cheating just because they are played by the famous actors but I don't think so.
Spoiler-
Both of them do terrible things to each other and that shows that relationships based on something like cheating is always going to turn toxic. Just because the movie outright doesn't say that it's bad, doesn't mean that it's promoting that behaviour.
I just wish it was more taut in its running time but it was still thrilling. Deepika was beyond brilliant!
There is always a hidden agenda(freedom and open relationship/ live in ) in making these kind of movies,first Hollywood did and now bollywood does

This is such a good movie 🥰 Glad y'all are reacting to it ❤ It's been subject to a lot of unnecessary hate cuz the indian audience hate on all new & taboo topics being explored 😭 But this is a lovely film, and hope more movies like this continue to be made ❤

@@sss19099 The film "portrays", it doesn't "glorify". Big difference . And the movies job is to have characters and show them, the characters can absolutely be flawed there is nothing wrong in that. If people with low IQ think all the movie characters need to be perfect and are going to get impacted by anything and everything shown on screen, it just proves that they have no strong mindset of their own. So don't hate on things you don't understand.

Sorry but you're making it sound like this is the first time an Indian movie has explored infidelity as a theme. Literally, EVERY Dharma movie show infidelity as a plot or subplot device today. There's no problem in that. B'coz the it is very much real even for the first world countries. Nd, the rxn to it is the SAME as us, as u can witness their rxn first hand, here.

This was the best hindi film of that year. Deepika gave an Acting masterclass in this. Not only her best but the best performance by anyone in last decade (atleast).
Tge way shakun used waves in between to set the mood of every scene. Absolutely BRILLIANT!
